"AWOOOO"
Even before the beasts appeared, Yang Ze was able to hear their howls, and in that instant, his face turned dark.
"It's those damn wolves again." How could Yang Ze not recognise the howl of wolves? He had heard it before that bastard was trying to tear him apart. Now, from the sounds of it, he was back again, and this time with a lot of reinforcement.
Gritting his teeth in anger, Yang Ze readied himself for the upcoming battle as he gently patted the spiritwing, signalling it to get in position and ready to strike.
One minute passed… two minutes passed…
With every passing second, the sound of wolves drew closer and closer. And even before them, Yang Ze was able to smell that fishy smell.
"They are here." Exhaling a mouthful of air, Yang Ze immediately jumped back as he raised his hand, using his newly gained talent.
In that instant, a long wind-blade appeared in front of him out of thin air.
Even though it was hovering there quietly, just from the sharp aura it was giving off, it was't hard to see just how destructive it was going to be.
Narrowing his eyes, Yang Ze looked in front of him, and sure enough, the next moment, the bunch of scarce trees in front of him parted ways as a group of wolves rushed forward, intending to tear him apart.
"Now." Without any hesitation, Yang Ze immediately launched the wind blade, followed by Spiritwing's attack.
*Swish
There was no surprise. The moment the wind blade made contact with the wolves, it sliced through them like a hot knife through butter. There was no scream, no painful wails or even howls. It all happened in an instant. From the wolves rushing towards Yang Ze, to him launching the wind blade and slicing them like watermelons.
"Holy." Looking at the windblade that sliced through the wolves and, without stopping, cut through the trees and left almost ten meters long gash on the ground, Yang Ze couldn't help but let out a cold breath.
Not to mention Yang Ze, even the spiritwing that floated beside him was stunned. It looked at its own wind blade that disappeared after slashing through a dozen wolves, wondering if it was using a fake wind blade.
But even with such a ghastly sight, the wolves didn't stop. They kept rushing towards Yang Ze like their life depends on it, completely ignoring the sight of their torn companions around them.
"Damn it. Bring it on." Yang Ze, who was expecting them to run away in fear, immediately shouted in anger after realising that they weren't going to back down.
Raising his hand, he slashed it again and again, throwing one after another wind blade, slicing through the horde of wolves with ease.
Although the majority of wolves were ordinary beasts, there were still a few that had turned demonic, with their strength reaching as high as the Pulse Opening realm. But regardless of how they tried and struggled, none of them could even take a single hit from the wind blade. Just a touch and their bodies were torn apart like paper.
After throwing wind blades, Yang Ze would carefully check his internal energy time and time again.
By now, he had a basic understanding of how this Blade wind worked. He could conjure a simple wind blade using his internal energy or mental energy, which doesn't require much energy. But if he wanted to make it more devastating and destructive, he could try adding additional internal energy to it. And the more internal or mental energy he used, the stronger the windblade would be.
Just a simple wind blade was enough to tear apart the wolves like paper and leave such long gusts in the ground… He didn't dare to imagine what a fully powered Wind blade would be like.
"Can I combine both internal and mental energy like I did when I summoned that cyclone?" This fleeting thought only lasted for a moment as Yang Ze focused on the situation in front of him. He would have plenty of time in the future to figure it out.
The number of wolves in front of him didn't decrease; on the contrary, they just poured more and more like water from a broken dam.
"Fuck." Cursing in his mind, Yang Ze began to throw wind blades one after another, completely disregarding the internal energy cost.
The Spiritwing too understood the gravity of the situation as it too began to shoot Wind Blades.
And just when Yang Ze was busy attacking the wolves, the ground underneath his feet suddenly twisted as a thin three-foot-long snake suddenly jumped out of there.
"Not good." Yang Ze was still in the midst of forming his Wind Blade and couldn't react in time. He wanted to use his Etheral Shadow Steps to dodge, but it was already too late.
Looking at the snake that was almost upon his face, Yang Ze gritted his teeth and took a split-second decision.
He immediately raised his hand, timely putting it between his face and the snake.
And then…
*Hissssss…..
The snake's teeth plunged into the back of his hand as Yang Ze felt something hot entering his body.
"Fuck." Without wasting another moment, Yang Ze opened his hand and grabbed the snake by its head before crushing it like a balloon.
Unfortunately for him, it had already done what it was meant to do.
In the next instant, Yang Ze felt a tingling sensation all over his hand. Even though it was unbearable, he didn't have time to pay attention to it for now.
He merely gritted his teeth and circulated his internal energy and increased his speed at shooting wind blades.
Yang Ze didn't know what kind of poison that damned snake had, but he had a feeling that it was something nasty.
Once it took effect… he was going to be a sitting duck. Completely at the mercy of the wolves who wouldn't hesitate to tear him into pieces.
"Screw it." Now that he was running out of time, Yang Ze immediately made up his mind.
Gritting his teeth, he bent his knees and, using his Etheral Shadow Steps, began to move around.
Every second, his figure would disappear and reappear with a wind blade that would tear at least twenty or so wolves in a single strike.
After delivering one wind blade, his figure would disappear and then reappear, repeating this process again and again.
In no time, what seemed to be an endless horde of wolves fell before his very attacks.
Yang Ze didn't know how many he had killed or how long he had been killing them for.
By now, his entire body was drenched in fishy blood. And if that wasn't enough, his shoes as well as some part of his clothes were covered in bits and pieces of wolves, making his appearance even more outrageous.
But this didn't seem to have any effect on Yang Ze.
By now, he could feel the effects of the poison. His entire right hand was numb, and no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn't move it.
And if that wasn't enough, the numbness was slowly spreading towards his chest. Yang Ze was afraid that in no time this poison would affect his heart, paralysing his entire body. If that were to happen, the consequences would be disastrous.
"DAMN IT. What the hell is wrong with these damned beasts?" From the moment he left the sect, he had been constantly attacked by these demonic beasts out of nowhere and for no reason at all.
Earlier, Yang Ze doubted that perhaps it was due to Lin Meilin playing tricks on him. Then what about now?
There was no need for Lin Meilin to go to such lengths now. The two of them were already on good terms, and if she wanted something from him, she could simply ask. He still owed her a favour.
This was definitely not done by Lin Meilin. But if not her, then what caused these beasts to suddenly go crazy?
Just when Yang Ze was thinking about what might be the reason behind it, he caught sight of a familiar wolf, silently watching him in the background.
"YOU."
Looking at the large wolf that was almost seven meters long and four meters in height with green fur and golden eyes, Yang Ze couldnt help but curse in low breath.
"This bastard sure is persistent." Who would have imagined that this wolf would follow him for so long? Even Yang Ze couldnt help but admire its patience and scheme.
This wolf knew it was in the Tianxu Trading Zone, and yet it didn't attack there.
Hell, even when Yang Ze came to this place, it didn't immediately attack but waited patiently for a long time. It was only after it was sure that it could take him on that it made a move.
Although Yang Ze didn't know how it managed to stop him from flying or how it found a snake helper to poison him, it didn't change the fact that this wolf wanted to tear him into pieces.
"Then I will just take you out first." Yang Ze knew his condition was getting worse, but it still didn't stop him from rushing towards the Tempest Alpha.
This bastard was the biggest threat to him on this battlefield. If he manages to take it down, the rest of the wolves would be an easy task.
Yang Ze wanted to finish it as soon as possible. If he didn't manage to kill it before the poison spread further, then he had to use the Clock of Time.
Yang Ze had a feeling that the danger wasn't limited to merely this tempest alpha. He had a feeling that something nasty was waiting for him once he took down this wolf.
If that were the case, then he needed to save the use of his clock of time.
Making up his mind, his figure blurred as he disappeared from his initial position.
When he first met this wolf, he didn't go all out. But now that it was a matter of life and death, he had decided to end it as soon as possible.
*AWOOOOOOOO
As if sensing his thoughts, the wolf too howled in response. It bent its lower half and, without hesitation, plunged towards Yang Ze with its open maw, intending to finish him in one bite.
Yang ze merely sneered in response as he muttered to himself in a soft voice.
"Illusion."
In that instant, Yang Ze's figure disappeared from the wolf's sight.
And just when the wolf was wondering where that puny human went, the air in front of it twisted as a wind blade struck it from the side.
But the current wolf was already expecting such an attack. It easily twisted its body and dodged to the side.
The wind blade that passed through its previous position twisted for a moment before disappearing into thin air.
The wolf didn't even have time or a brain to think about what just happened. It merely thought that it had managed to dodge the attack.
And the moment it landed on the side, six more wind blades appeared from all around it.
This time, too, the wolf was alert.
Bending its legs, it jumped up into the air, gracefully dodging the attack.
But the moment it jumped into the air, the air in front of it twisted once again, and this time, what came into view was the figure of that damned human with a wretched smile on his face as it threw a large windblade towards it.
This time, there was nowhere to dodge. The wolf could only meet the incoming wind blade head-on.
But how could it go against the elemental attack?
The wind blade passed through its body like a hot butter through a knife.
In an instant, the once mighty wolf was torn into two from the middle, with one half of its body falling to the left and the other half falling to the right.
"Finally." Yang Ze finally breathed in relief. He had used illusion to throw illusory wind blades at it, making it dodge before ending it in one full swoop.
Although Yang Ze could easily beat it in a direct combat, it was definitely going to take much time. And time was something that he didn't have.
The moment Yang Ze killed the Tempest Alpha, the wolves that were rushing towards him to tear him apart suddenly came to an abrupt halt. They first looked at the human in front of them and then at their leader before turning around and running away.
"Haah…"
Looking at their departing backs, Yang Ze finally let out a sigh of relief as he couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"HAHAHAHAHA."
This was definitely one of the most thrilling battles of his life.
Yang Ze could feel the poison in his body spreading more and more as he decided to take out the Clock of Time and use it to revert to his best state.
Raising his head, he exhaled a mouthful of air and was about to take out the clock when his eyes narrowed into slits, and his breathing almost stopped.
The moment he raised his head, Yang Ze saw two moons in the sky, just above his head.
"What the…" Yang Ze was about to say something when his body stiffened and his words got stuck in his throat.
How were these moons? These were clearly a pair of impossibly big eyes looking directly at him.
With his night vision talent that he got from an owl, he finally saw what was hiding in the dark.
It was the rocky face of a giant… an incomparable giant creature made entirely of rocks.
It had a human-like face with glowing orbs for eyes. On top of its head was an entire forest.
If Yang Ze had to put it in words, the thing he was looking at was almost three times the size of the mountain he was currently standing on.
*Gulp
Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Yang Ze looked at the creature that seemed to be directly looking at him and used his system to look at its personal panel.
It was fine if he hadn't seen it, but once he saw it, he almost fainted from fright.
In front of him was a translucent window, showing him the properties of the towering giant.
[Name: Primordial Earth Sovereign]
[Age: 23476 Years]
[Realm: 7th Grade Demonic Beast]
[Talents: Terranean Vitality (Green), Quakeborn Resilience (Blue), Sovereign Earth Pulse (Purple), Primordial Crush Aura (Gold), Titanfall Descent (Gold)]
"FUCK." This was the only thought in Yang Ze's mind as he looked at the panel in front of him.
