Yang Ze didnt seem to hear her provocations. He didnt even care about the fact that his right hand was gone. The only thing on his mind was the fact that he wanted the woman in front of him dead.
Raising his hand again, seven more clones appeared beside him, each one with the same painful expression and missing arm.
"OH!?" Han She's eyes lit up as she perked her head a little, just to take a better look.
The eight figures in front of her suddenly scattered around, each one coming from a different direction.
She looked with interest as the eight similar figures raised their hands, each one summoning a wind blade before launching towards her. But they didn't just stop there. One after another… they kept on shooting the wind blades, directly cutting off any path to escape.
"You know what's better than a hundred wind blades?" Han She spoke in a leisurely voice as she simply lifted her sword and swiped it around her in a circular motion before uttering her next words.
"A circular blade."
With that, an invisible burst of energy spread through her body in a circular motion, directly disintegrating the hundreds of wind blades that were just launched towards her.
But the burst of energy didn't just stop there; it sliced through the seven clones like a hot knife through butter before hitting the true body of Yang Ze in the chest, who barely managed to defend himself using his left hand, upon which was a glove.
"Oh?" Han She wasn't expecting Yang Ze to stop her attack, but this only made her a little interested… nothing else.
Yang Ze, on the other hand, managed to stop himself after sliding for almost a hundred meters.
He then raised his head, lifted his hand back and then, without any hesitation, used his cracked teacup property to attack her.
In the next instant, when Yang Ze threw a punch, Han She, who was still sitting leisurely, suddenly felt a sense of dread as she hurriedly raised her sword, barely blocking a fist that suddenly appeared out of nowhere and was aimed at her head.
"OH!" The more she fought with Yang Ze, the more she was surprised by him.
By now, she was slowly beginning to understand why Cang Yue would have a relationship with such an ordinary middle-aged man.
"What else have you got?"
Yang Ze didn't reply to her but instead kept on throwing one punch after another, each one more precise than before, each one intending to heavily injure her or even possibly kill her.
But with every punch, Yang Ze wasn't the only one getting more and more proficient. Han She, too, was slowly beginning to get used to Yang Ze's attack.
Earlier, she found them a bit tricky, but as he attacked her more and more like a mindless animal, she figured out the pattern of his attack.
By the time Yang Ze threw his fiftieth punch, she was merely using the hilt of her sword to block his attacks.
"Anything else?" With a yawn, Han She provoked Yang Ze once again. "Don't tell me this is all you can do for your dead wife and child."
Yang Ze's body trembled at her remark as he rushed towards her and the moment there was only a meter distance between the two of them, opened his mouth to let out the inverted wail.
"EEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHHHHHH"
An ear-piercing screech filled the area.
And with this screech, Yang Ze threw one after another wind blade, intending to chop her into pieces.
"Interesting." Feeling the internal energy in her body go out of control, Han She couldn't help but click her tongue in wonder.
"What a miraculous skill." She didn't hold back from praising Yang Ze's skills.
"A pity that I am out of internal energy. Otherwise, it would have definitely worked on me." With a simple smile, she used her sword once again to block the incoming wind blades.
The two of them kept on fighting like this without any hint of stopping.
Yang Ze would use his wind blade, his fists and even his illusions to get any kind of advantage over Han She, but no matter how hard he tried, nothing worked.
In the end, he chose the most crude method of attack, using the shattering property in his fist attack as well as throwing occasional wind blades.
—----------------------
While Yang Ze was fighting against Han She, an entirely different scene was playing out in one of the obscure peaks of the Sword Sect.
Jian Yu, who was about to crush Han She's body, suddenly found herself far away from the ruins.
Looking around in confusion, Jian Yu's blood turned cold as she realised what just happened.
"Gulp." Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, she slowly turned her head to look at the white masked woman sitting in the air, leisurely, as if enjoying her reaction.
"You…" Jian Yu didn't know what to say. She herself was shocked and in utter disbelief. She knew the white masked woman fully… after all, she was the one who brought her to the Sword Sect; in a sense, she was the one who truly raised her like a mother. But who would have thought that the usual quiet and gentle girl would be hiding so deep?
Jian Yu's mind almost stopped working as she looked at the masked woman in front of her.
"Wha… what happened?" She wanted to ask who she was, what she was doing here, but the moment she saw her floating leisurely, she swallowed back those words while at the same time cursing in her mind.
This seemingly innocent disciple of hers was actually a Heaven Step powerhouse. Someone who could destroy thousands like her in a single breath.
Although Jian Yu didn't know how or when this happened, now was neither the time nor the place to ask about it.
"Why are you doing this?" Even if she didn't dare to ask about her strength, it didn't stop her from wanting to know why her disciple would do something like this.
"Why?" The white masked woman merely shook her head gently. "A pitiful worm in a cage, forever unable to understand the vastness of heaven."
With a brief pause, she turned around to look at the rest of the peaks in the distance before uttering in a soft voice.
"Did it ever occur to you why even after so much commotion, not a single member of the Sword Sect showed up?"
The masked woman's words finally brought a much-needed clarity to Jian Yu, whose eyes went wide with disbelief. Earlier she never thoughts bout it, but now that her disciple mentioned it, she couldn't help but think about it.
Usually, the grand elders or even elders would have rushed towards their location after they activated the formation, but instead, there was nothing… Not a single person stepped forward to ask what happened.
This made Jian Yu even more frightened of her disciple, who was now a complete stranger to her.
"Your stupid brain couldn't understand it." With a soft chuckle, the white masked woman's gentle voice echoed in Jian Yue's ears once again.
"Who do you think established the lineage to keep an eye on the ruin?"
"HUH!?" Jian Yu's eyes went wide with disbelief as she raised her fingers to point at the masked woman, intending to say something, but couldn't.
Ignoring her reaction, the white masked woman spoke further.
"You stupid whore. Did you really think you were here to keep it sealed?"
"I put you morons here to keep an eye on it. Not because I wanted it safe, but because it was too troublesome if people kept on discovering that place."
"Breaking the seal is what I have been planning on for more than twenty thousand years."
With a short pause, the white masked woman gave a mocking gaze to Jian Yu before speaking further.
"Didn't I ask you if you truly wanted to sacrifice someone?"
"I kept on asking you, and you ignored it like a buffoon."
"Garbage like you deserved to be thrown away."
Before Jian Yu could even react, the figure of the white masked woman flashed as she directly appeared in front of Jian Yu,
"What…" Jian Yu didn't even have time to scream when the white masked woman's hand pierced through her chest, directly holding her heart, and at the same time, waves after waves of inexplicable energy kept on rushing out of the masked woman's hand, slowly wiping out Jian Yu's soul.
"You…" Jian Yu wanted to struggle… she wanted to fight back and even escape from this place, but her gradually weakening body told her that it was an impossible task.
She could only lift her hand weakly, placing it on the masked woman's mask as she yanked it down.
In the next instant, her eyes went wide with disbelief as she couldn't even believe what she was seeing.
She merely kept her eyes on the face of the woman in front of her before muttering in an inaudible whisper…
"How could it be you… How could it be you?"
Unfortunately for Jian Yu, she was bound to receive no answer. With a face full of unwillingness, her body slumped down.
A generation of rulers whose every step could cause the Azure Dragon Continent to shake died in an obscure place without even making a sound.
Clenching her fists, the heart in the woman's hand shattered into nothingness, as well as the body underneath her.
She then picked up the mask and placed it on her face before looking in the direction of the ruins.
Her eyes seemed to see through layers of obstructions, directly gazing at the fight between Yang Ze and Han She.
"Of course, you are going to get bored when you are much stronger than him." Shaking her head with a chuckle, the masked woman simply snapped her fingers.
"Now… enjoy."
—------------------------
On the other side, Han She, who was leisurely fighting off Yang Ze while sitting there with a bored expression, couldn't help but change her face as she felt the changes in her body.
"That bitch…"
How could she not understand what just happened?
With a cold snort, she immediately left her sword on the ground as her figure began to flicker around.
Yang Ze seemed to have found an opportunity as his attack's intensity only increased.
Earlier, due to the sword, it was impossible for him to actually cause any harm to her. But with the sword not in her hands, he had a much better chance.
He didn't know why she left the sword, and neither did he have any intention of finding out.
He merely raised his attack's intensity.
Even with one hand, his attacks were much more relentless than before.
In less than a minute, Han She was already out of breath. Under his constant barrage of attacks, she didn't even have time to breathe, much less attack him.
And just when she was dodging around like a fly, Yang Ze finally found an opportunity.
"A chance." Without any hesitation, Yang Ze rushed forward, intending to punch her brains out.
His fists, covered in a thick layer of black, were directly in front of Han She's face, but the fist didn't connect.
Yang Ze looked at the face that was intimately familiar to him... A fact that he wouldn't forget even in death… A face that was looking at him in confusion and fear.
It was the face of his wife…
How could he bear to attack her?
The moment Yang Ze's fist paused, Han She's palm connected to his stomach, directly throwing him back like a bag of potatoes.
"HEH." Han She seemed to have discovered something extremely fun.
She didn't attack the man in front of her. Even though she could easily kill him now that he was lying defencelessly on the ground, she didn't.
Even though she found the earlier restriction in her body gone and she could control her sword once again, she didn't pick it up or use it to fight against the man and kill him.
Instead, she hopped towards Yang Ze with a smile on her face.
"Ugh…" Yang Ze struggled to get up as he rushed towards Han She one more time, intending to give a blow.
Han She didn't dodge or fight back. Instead, she just stood in her place, even taking a step forward and slowly bending down, making it easy for Yang Ze to punch her.
She watched with great interest as Yang Ze's fist once again reached her forehead, but stopped again.
"Husbadn…" Han She muttered softly. "Are you going to harm me?"
Yang Ze's heart trembled as he looked at her. Since the opposite party has taken possession of Cang Yue's body, there was a slight chance that perhaps she was still in there. What if he accidentally hurt her?
Once such thoughts sprouted in Yang Ze's mind, it was impossible for him to actually harm Han She.
"Heh." Han She simply pushed his stomach, sending him flying in the distance as she watched with great interest as he made his way towards her once again.
And thus the scene of Yang Ze trying to punch her while she constantly used words like 'husband', 'my love', 'dear', making him stop in his tracks before throwing him away like a tennis ball appeared.
It wasn't until she threw Yang Ze for the twenty-fifth time that she finally clapped her hands.
"You moron." Her voice was filled with ridicule. "Do you really think your wife is somewhere alive inside me?"
"Do you even know the meaning of the word possession?"
"Unless the owner completely dies, it is impossible to take over that body."
Yang Ze's body trembled even more as drops of tears slid from the corner of his eyes. He knew… when he saw the panel before, he knew this was the case. But he didn't want to believe it. He didn't want to think that the love of his life would be taken away from him like this.
"AAAAHHHHH." Yang Ze let out a heartwrenching cry as he punched the ground a few times, hoping to stand up and rush forward once again. Perhaps, he didn't want to fight… perhaps he too simply wanted to die.
How could an old monster like Han She not realise what he was thinking?
With a slight curve of her lips, she spoke again.
"Oh… And the thing about your child… well, it was true."
"When I took over this body, I needed nourishment and decided to use it."
The moment she finished speaking, Yang Ze's body trembled violently as he raised his head to take a glance at the woman in front of him, who was now beginning to laugh uncontrollably.
Gritting his teeth, he lowered his head and even though his body was overwhelmed with exhaustion, he lifted his left hand before placing it on his left eye and then, without any hesitation.
*Riiiiippppp
He pulled his left eye out.
*AAAAGGGGGHHHHH
An inhumane cry escaped his lips, but he didn't stop. He then reached out to his right eye and then…
*Riiiiiipppp
He pulled it out, also.
"HUFF… HUFF…"
Fighting the soul-wrenching pain, he held his eyes in his left hand before crushing them.
He then slowly lifted his face, which was filled with blood and devoid of eyes... where the only thing visible was a hollow space to look in the direction of Han She, whose laughter had stopped a long time ago.
The moment Han She saw Yang Ze taking out his eyes, her heart trembled as a feeling of fear for the first time in tens of thousands of years appeared in her heart.
"He needs to die." She immediately made up her mind. Someone with this much resolve can not be left alive… Especially when the other party is an enemy.
Now that he couldn't see her face...
Pulling all his strength in his legs, Yang Ze rushed forward one last time, this time he used his Black Tiger fist as well as the Tempest Call, pouring in all his internal strength as well as mental strength in those attacks.
Han Shen felt the changes in her surroundings as her gaze towards Yang Ze turned murderous.
She lifted her sword and, with all her might, slashed it down, intending to end this little bastard in a single strike.
Yang Ze didn't feel the incoming death. He just wanted to kill the woman in front of him.
As the invisible slash of the sword slowly descended, it began to crack the ground even before reaching there.
Yang Ze felt an infinite pressure as if being crushed by a mountain, but didn't give up. Gritting his teeth, he rushed forward, intending to die with the woman.
And just when the slash of the sword was about to cleave him into two, his figure disappeared.
"Huh!?" Han She's eyes turned into slits as she looked around warily, but nothing happened.
On the other side, Yang Ze didn't even know he had managed to escape narrow death.
The last attack took all his strength.
The only thing he could do was to lie in the soft embrace of a woman with a familiar scent.
"Geez…" A soft voice sounded in his ear as the woman spoke with some anger in her voice.
"What a crazy bastard."
"I… W…" Yang Ze opened his mouth to speak, but couldn't speak clearly.
"No." The woman immediately shook her head. "I don't have the nectar of life. It needs time to regenerate."
"R… N…" Yang Ze kept on whispering, completely ignoring what she was trying to say,
"What do you want?" Lin Meilin finally couldn't hold it any longer.
Lowering her head, she put her ear near Yang Ze's mouth.
And this time she was finally able to hear what he was trying to say.
