The usually quiet forest outside the capital was filled with screams and cries of star beasts as Jaden and his summon brought hell upon them.

Jaden's sword pierced through the head of a star beast, and a message appeared before him.

[You have slain an E rank enemy.]

[Experience +5 (kill)]

Another message appeared right after.

[You have slain an E rank enemy.]

[Experience +8 (Kill via summon)]

Jaden dismissed the messages and looked up at the sky as he mumbled, "I should get going..."

He turned around and summoned a Galewolf. He climbed onto its back, and it began to run towards the wall.

[Ding!]

[Host has levelled up!]

[Host has reached level 20!]

He read the message and dismissed them once again as he thought, 'I should leave the summons here... They'll get unsummoned once I am out of mana anyway.'

The Galewolf moved through the forest like a lightning bolt, and a few minutes later, the wall came into view.

He jumped off the Galewolf and walked closer to the capital.

He looked through the vehicles that stood in front of the entry gate before finalising one of them. He walked forward, and his body rippled before he vanished.

He walked near the vehicle at the very end of the central row and jumped into it as he waited for the vehicle to move.

The vehicle moved after a few moments, and a guard knight checked it before giving the go.

The driver pressed the accelerator, and the vehicle roared to life. It moved past the tall gates of the wall, and Jaden jumped out of it.

"Magic is amazing," he mumbled with a smug look and walked into a dark alley.

He summoned a Galewolf, climbed on it and began to run towards the central district. The Galewolf zipped through the alleys, and a few minutes later, they reached the central district.

The academy came into view but that wasn't his destination.

He rubbed the dark green fur of the Galewolf and said, "We will return after selling the mana cores."

The Galewolf moved once again and reached a busy street full of stores and stalls with neon signs that boasted about various schemes and discounts.

He jumped off the Galewolf, and the Galewolf burst into black sparks which entered his body.

He took out his academy badge and placed it on his chest before walking out of the alley and making way towards a store with a board that read:

Berg's.

"This is the one," he muttered before pushing the glass door and walking in.

Just as he walked in, a soft chime rang in the seemingly empty store, and the sleeping storekeeper woke up from his slumber.

"Welcome to the Berg's," he welcomed while yawning.

Jaden stared at him with a confused expression and mumbled under his breath, "I am at the right place... right?"

"So, what do you want to buy?" He asked while rubbing his hands with a cloth.

Jaden walked over to the counter and spoke, "I want to sell."

The storekeeper nodded and asked with a smile, "What is it that you want to sell?"

Jaden took out the mana cores from his pocket and placed them on the counter, "These."

The storekeeper's eyes began to gleam as he picked up a mana core and mumbled, "E rank..."

He closed his eyes for a moment, and a frown appeared on his face as he questioned, "You... where did you get these?"

Jaden leaned forward and asked in a cold voice, "Does that matter?"

The storekeeper nodded as the smile returned on his face, "2500 credits for all."

Jaden nodded, picked up the mana cores and turned to leave.

The storekeeper's smile faltered, but he forced himself to keep smiling and asked, "What are you doing?"

Jaden didn't reply and just stepped towards the exit.

"W-wait! What about 2750?" The storekeeper shouted from behind.

Jaden waved at him without turning and gripped the door.

Seeing that, the storekeeper shouted, "WAIT!"

Jaden stopped and turned his head to look at him while still gripping the door.

"Name your price," the storekeeper said and folded his arms across his chest.

'You could have just asked that from the start,' Jaden thought as he spoke, "5000 credits."

"Huh? 5000? Why don't you just rob me instead?" The storekeeper asked with an irritated look on his face.

"You can sell it for much higher after turning them into jewellery or decoration, and you wouldn't even lose anything because of how fresh they are," Jaden answered without any change in his expression.

The storekeeper shook his head and spoke after heaving a sigh, "All right, give them here."

Jaden smiled inwardly and placed the mana cores on the counter once again. The storekeeper took the mana core and checked all of them before adding, "I'll give you 4500, not all of them are fresh."

Jaden nodded and handed his academy badge to him. He took the badge and scanned it with a device.

He pressed a few buttons and spoke, "All right, everything's done."

Jaden took the badge and placed it back on his chest before stepping out.

The cold breeze hit him as soon as he stepped out, and he pulled his hood closer before walking towards the academy.

He didn't run, he didn't summon a Galewolf and simply walked towards the academy while watching everything and everyone with curious eyes.

'They have more sparks in their eyes than the students... they did say that most don't want to enter the dream realm but I didn't think it to be that many,' he thought as he neared the academy.

He stepped towards a secluded spot near the metal wall and spoke, "Yuka."

A few moments passed, but nothing happened.

His face turned dark as he thought, 'Don't tell me all of it was a lie...'

However, before his thoughts could darken even further, he disappeared.
