The Rise Of The No. 1 Hunter

Chapter 107: RAITO VS THE BLACK KING

The both of them kept clashing, slashing dagger and sword. The three humans, still alive, were terrified. They were deeply terrified. They weren't even looking at Raito in any way—their eyes were fixed on the wyvern because it was the wyvern that had been feeding on them.

The moment the wyvern was about to eat another one, as it carried one, the lady screamed. As it carried her, it was about to put her in its mouth.

Raito landed as the Black King was about to strike him again. Raito blocked the attack with his dagger. He then landed a full-force strike on the Black King's waist, pushing it backward until it crashed into the dungeon wall.

He raised his dagger and threw it toward the wyvern's neck. Instantly, the dagger passed through the wyvern's neck. The wyvern's head fell to the ground as blood poured out. The lady, who had been in the wyvern's hand, landed on the ground.

The three survivors stared at Raito as if he were an angel who had come to save them.

"Maybe… but that thing is too strong. Do you think he can win?" one of them whispered. "That monster is really powerful. It hasn't even gone all out yet. And not only that—there are different types. Only S-rank hunters in this country, Japan, could take something this powerful down. But I'm sure he isn't S-rank, because I haven't seen him on the list."

Raito stretched and raised his right hand back. The dagger, which had pierced the wyvern, returned to his hand.

"You're right. Sure, I'm not S-rank. But I'm just here to save you. Rest assured. Now that I'm here, you're safe," Raito said.

As he spoke, the Black King ran toward him and threw a punch straight at his face.

Boom!

The impact shook the ground, dust flying everywhere.

The survivors froze. "No! Is he dead or…?" one whispered.

Raito looked at the Black King and said, "How dare you indulge me while I'm still speaking."

He spat blood from his mouth. Boom!

Then he turned to the Black King, raised his dagger, and charged. The two of them clashed, flying into the air. Kick, kick, kick—strike after strike, they moved from one side to another in the huge dungeon hall.

They slammed into the walls, exchanged blows continuously. The Black King slashed and slammed Raito into the dungeon wall, right in the head. Raito retaliated, slamming him back.

"It's truly strong, but still… that is not enough. This guy is stronger than us all combined. But for some reason, when we fought the Black King, we weren't able to use our skills. He made it so we couldn't use them—and she hasn't even unleashed her attack yet."

One of the survivors shouted toward Raito, "Sir! You're strong… truly strong. It's better if you use this chance to save yourself! You have enough strength to run before he attacks!"

The lady shouted as well, warning him urgently.

Raito paused mid-air, staring at her. What was she trying to say?

He looked back at the Black King, then clashed his dagger against the King's sword. Driving forward, he thrust his dagger into the Black King's rib. The Black King let out a roar and was thrown back through the air. Stretching out toward Raito, a sudden notification popped up:

[WARNING! WARNING! Absolute Suppression Skill Activated By Black King]

Temporary. Capable of temporarily disabling system windows, skills, and stats. Only one instance remains.

"What the hell?" Raito muttered as the system windows and stats panels instantly closed on their own.

Instinctively, objects in the dungeon began falling around him, clattering to the ground.

"What just happened? What just happened now?" Raito said, frowning.

He opened his status box—but it didn't respond. Then he realized:

"So that's what she was warning me about," he said under his breath, a small smile forming on his face. "I wouldn't be able to use any of my skills… only my pure strength, the power I've gained through hard work. All skills would be useless."

The Black King landed on the ground with a heavy thud, sword in hand, and started walking toward him.

A voice shouted from the side, "That's not all he's capable of! He's just one ally among many… He can even force an ally to fight another! One of our friends—mistakenly—was killed by him because he couldn't control himself. That's another skill. What chance do we have against that?"

Raito's smile widened. "Well… thank you for your warning. Don't say anything again. If you speak, it's going to come for you."

None of them answered. The Black King continued walking closer, the dagger still in Raito's hand.

"The good thing is… I can still use my inventory box," Raito muttered, relieved.

The Black King swung his sword, slashing toward Raito with deadly precision. Raito blocked it with his dagger, then countered with a swift strike. The force shocked the Black King—Raito still had enough energy even after the system had been disabled.

Seizing the moment, Raito leapt back and dashed forward, aiming straight for the Black King's core. The Black King jumped mid-air to intercept him, attempting to choke him, but Raito's dagger struck the sword just in time.

Mid-air, Raito lifted his knee, driving it into the Black King's face. Sparks flew as their weapons clashed, swords and daggers striking each other continuously, the sound ringing through the dungeon.

"I'm going to the top with my pure strength," Raito thought, determination blazing in his eyes. "I've used the system already… but even without it, I'm strong. This… this feels good. My hard work is finally paying off."

With a grin, Raito raised his dagger, aiming for one of the Black King's glowing eyes, ready to strike a decisive blow.

The dagger barely grazed the Black King's red glowing eye. He staggered back, shocked by Raito's raw strength—even after disabling his skills. The danger he felt was unlike anything he had encountered before.
