"For the first six months, you all, irrespective of the study you wish to be in, will be required to go through the same training, and all subjects taught will be general knowledge that applies to each student."
"Based on your metrics, which will be judged at the end of the six months, you will attain overall scores."
"Every class study has its minimum class study, so the better your metrics, the more options you have to choose from."
The instructor's words echoed through the stadium-like hall, where the students sat, a hanging projection above them, and the teacher stood at the center.
In a random area of the class, Everlearn sat, his attention focused on the female instructor who explained how the school would currently work for them. From this, Everlearn was able to piece out a couple of things.
The X Guard Academy also had a department for studying Mech design, something he planned on doing.
But it seemed that would take six months from now.
What's more is that he would have to undergo the normal Corer training before taking an exam to determine his metric.
And if his metric is high enough for Mech Designing, he would be chosen.
The instructor went on about how to secure a high metric score, and to Everlearn's surprise, it wasn't just about passing the final exam like he had first thought.
It included attending every class, and the instructors themselves had a high influence on a student's metric of their subject.
So, if you were unknown to the instructor, never caught his or her eye, or weren't known for being exceptional, your metric count got even lower.
Everlearn had already missed one class, so it was clear that compared to the rest, his metric score ought to be at -1 right now.
'Tsk, really wish I didn't snore off.'
║Don't beat yourself up over it. It couldn't be helped.║
The panel blinked, and he eventually let go of it.
'I'll just have to make sure I don't fuck up any more classes from now.'
The class finished after three hours, and the students rose to leave, including Everlearn.
But he had not walked far when a shoulder nudged into his.
"Yohooooo!"
He turned, and there she was, Rosa.
They'd gotten separated upon entering the hall; one moment she was beside him, and the next, she was gone.
But Everlearn felt the world spinning around when he had entered due to the insane speed, so he didn't know if he was the one who had just lost his way.
"Thanks for the ride," He said to her as they both continued towards the exit.
"I wanted to use that to repay the little bit of mocking from last night," she said, and Everlearn shrugged it off.
"Then, it's repaid."
"Yesssie!" she screamed, her hand clenched into a fist.
But then a glint crossed through her eye as she looked around, before nudging closer to Everlearn's ear, whispering,
"But seriously, though, how do you get jumped by rats?"
"You were literally covered in claws, and that could only have come from an entire island of them."
"Just where did you go last night?"
She asked curiously, and Everlearn paused.
Rosa saw him looking around as if to make sure no one was listening.
Then he ushered her closer with a nod, and he brought her ear nearer to his lips.
"Get your pink nose out of my business. Okay?"
He said, and she giggled, watching as he resumed his walk, drawing his hoodie over his head, and gaining a few steps from her.
"Hey, want a ride back to dorm?"
"No."
He answered without turning back, and Rosa found him disappear right under her nose, mixing with the crowd of students.
"Just what is with him?"

Everlearn was halfway to his dorm room when,
GRUUUUUUUUUUM!
His stomach protested in hunger as his hands rubbed it.
It was flat...really flat.
"I'm starving," he mused.
His memories faintly crossed with his last time in the cafeteria, and he felt a bit reluctant.
He opened his device, turning to look at the schedule.
It was currently 8:45, and the next class starts at 10:00.
That was a lot of time, and Everlearn exhaled lightly, taking a detour to the cafeteria instead.
'Hopefully, I don't run across any of those damn second years,' he prayed silently, continuing toward the cafeteria.
___________
30 minutes later...
DIIIING!
The sound of the elevator echoed through the corridor as Everlearn stepped out, hand over his bulging tummy.
Things went surprisingly well this time in the cafeteria, and he faced no problem at all, though he still sat on the other side of the glass.
Bringing out his green card, he swiped it over the door handle before stepping into his room.
Checking the time, it was 9:15.
"I'll leave at 9:50," he said before his gaze drifted to the bag.
Yesterday, he'd gone out to hunt and had gotten some good harvests, but he'd never checked them.
Now was the time.
Grabbing the bag off the table, Everlearn moved to sit at his desk before he brought out every object.
When he emptied the bag, there were a total of 15 gadgets before him, and his eyes shone as he switched on his monitor and idly began typing, soon arriving at a list.
To create tools with his Creation Skill, he needed an acute formula.
Like when he had created a spear, he needed its formula:
Branch + Vine + Stone.
This was the base of Mechano Creatio.
Since Everlearn was aware of that, he had already gone through a list of mechanized objects displayed on his monitor's app, running a creation program that followed the spear's formula to design other mechanized constructs.
There were ten of those formulas right now, and with what Everlearn had before him on the table,
He could make two objects.
The first was a Nano-Photon Blaster.
That is, technically channeling energy or light-based beams, the photon, with the aid of nanotech construction, the Nano, to create a weaponized output, the blaster!
This would be his next creation.
