Chapter 49: Overlord Of The Shadows 2

While still engaging Roku in close combat, I was contemplating on using the technique I used against Regazan The Blood Faun back when the academy was under the attack of escaped Shadow creatures that were somehow led to the academy grounds by Dazzai Thornhill.

The technique, was not an origin of the system but of my making— The conjunction between Attract and Repel Spacial Manipulation matters that gave birth to Erase.

The conjugation, had the ability to erase anything in its part away from existence. Thinking about it now, using it against Regazan was a gamble and risky to say the least, because I could have erased the very existence of the bastards magic stone and thereby killing any chance I had to acquire it as my personal Arcane pet.

It was the same situation with Roku, I couldn't use the Erase conjugation on it because I wasn't sure if the magic stone would be affected and the very existence of the creature would be brought to nothingness. If I am to get stronger, I need more pets.

The overlords head snapped back down, and at the same time, it fired a poison needle out of its mouth-like orifice. A tip coated in deadly poison attached to the tongue like tentacle that shot out like a bullet.

From my position, it was an unavoidable attack aimed at my face in point blank range.

I deftly tilted my head out of the way to dodge the needle, but a growl crept in the creatures screech as the result of the attack became clear. The needle still managed to scratch my cheek and left a small wound there.

Ding!

~You have been poisoned~

Tch!

It was a really strong poison that I could tell by the immediate effect it had on me, even though it made its way into my body just from a teeny tiny scratch.

I took a second or two to just realise what happened— A Shadow Creature unleashing a poison themed attack? That is something I have never really heard of before up until now.

What's going on lately with this steadily weird and unnatural Shadow creatures popping up in this dungeons.

I dropped to my feet and the downward part of my body refused to move, needless to say, it was a paralysis poison.

A poison of that nature in my state was not good!

The bastard raised its winged claws to deliver the final blow, but I knew this was merely a small hurdle I could easily leap over.

Option one: my pets were still very much active and ready to protect me, right at my command.

Option two: I don't need to move any part of my body to perform any of my skills or abilities.

Such as—

"Spacial Manipulation Technique…"

"Repel…"

Swish!!!

The mass appeared instantly and pushed the creature backwards till it slammed back first into the wall of the carven.

That gave me enough time to deep my hand into my inventory and drink down another healing potion to cancel out the effect of the poison before it reached the upper part of my body.

I immediately sprinted towards the overlord as it tried to push itself off the wall.

!!

Somehow, I could feel the overlords nervousness in my head now. As if it were exhuming an aura of fear. Good! It should be scared because I had all intentions to end its existence and Reborn it as my personal companion.

I jumped up slightly in the air and then, I kicked down.

However, Roku vanished from the spot. Only the wall caved in from the impact.

"Where!"

I turned to look above me, and to see the creature flying in the air using its wings.

With me being able to sense the monsters fluctuating emotions, searching for its presence had become a step easier now. The emotion of fear it had, had suddenly changed to that of confusion.

The bastard was going to change its strategy now.

The claws on the creatures winged arm grew even longer and sharper, like well honed blades. I studied the changes taking place in Roku and realised that the creature would change how it attacked from here onwards.

I opened my inventory spacial rift and returned Cobra's Tongue, then retrieved the Bone-white daggers.

The now airborne boss monster shot down towards me. Its speed was now incomparable to only a minute ago.

I focused my senses.

Time slowed down and every single movement the monster made entered my vision. In all honesty, I felt most confident when it came down to the contest of speed. I easily deflected the overlords claw slashing down from above with my daggers.

Clang! Clang!

"My subjects are watching, so expect me to put on a little show…"

The follow up attacks from Roku landed on the ground, as well as from mine spinning around and clashed violently.

Indeed, I had stepped far more than my former self by killing the undead Dazzai Thornhill had thrown at me, I was more agile, faster and stronger. Not to mention the skill from Egar boosted all my physical stat temporarily with 10 points.

I kept slicing and slicing.

Off came one arm, and then another. Completely disarming the creature.

Then I used my Divine Thread Skill to see where the location of the Anti-arcane stone was hidden in its body.

This mission has been long over due already, I wasn't going to waste anymore time. I sliced off its massive legs off and then its head.

The creature was still alive, which meant the stone had no place to go other than its torso region.

I placed a palm on the creatures chest and blasted the conjugation of Repel and Attract, blasting off one part of the Rokus torso to nothingness.

"Erase…"

The other half was still intact, but the stone was now visible, gleaming an ominous red colour and waiting for me to grab at it.

I dug my hand deep into the creatures gut and pulled out the stone, and the creature blasted into nothingness of shadowy igor.

Ding!

~Congratulations, you have defeated the boss monster: Roku~

~Mission complete~

~You have levelled up!~

~Level 50!

I collapsed to one knee, breathing heavily as I released all skills and pets that I had active.

The battle had taken quite a lot from me and my Arcane reserves were almost depleted again, with my body was aching all over. But the mission was complete.

As I caught my breath the system appeared before me again, sending me that familiar chime that always spiked my dopamine.

Ding!

~Rebirth is possible…~

~Do you want to turn this creature into your arcane pet?~

~Begin Rebirth process…~
