Supreme Man

Chapter 501: Evading Pursuit (Fifth Update)

"Go! Hurry!" Bi Fu pushed Duke of Thunder aside forcefully and shouted loudly.

"Fu!" Tears welled up in Duke of Thunder's eyes, no longer able to be held back. Who said men don't cry? It's just that the time hasn't come for grief. Just like Duke of Thunder now, he used to think of himself as a man with no emotions, caring only for his sister, Lei Ting, and nobody else.

But now, he realized that there exists a kind of bond called brotherhood, one that transcends nationality and age. Once a brother is in trouble, the heart suffers alongside.

Duke of Thunder felt this deeply; only through experiences of life and death did he understand the preciousness of living together.

"Go!" Bi Fu stabbed himself fiercely with a dagger, the blade piercing into his chest, missing the heart by just one centimeter.

Duke of Thunder saw Bi Fu willing to commit suicide so he wouldn't be burdened; the world suddenly turned black and white, devoid of any color for him.

His legs weakened, but seeing Bi Fu's choice for him, he resolutely stood up, clutching the 200,000 cash in his hand, and quickly walked towards the northeast.

At this moment, his only option was to go northeast. Otherwise, with blood dripping from his thighs, if he went to sea, he would be surrounded by sharks in less than half an hour, facing death regardless.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Yan Zhong's men scattered in all directions to capture Duke of Thunder's subordinates. Within minutes, they were all apprehended. Yan Zhong, like watching a show, approached Bi Fu, who was already on the verge of death, barely clinging to life.

"Haha! You worthless dog, trying to escape in front of me, Third Master? You deserve to die," Yan Zhong mercilessly stomped on the dagger in Bi Fu's hand. The dagger, as if invigorated, sank further into Bi Fu's chest like cutting through tofu.

The blade, driven by Yan Zhong's foot, ruptured the entire heart.

Bi Fu kicked his legs, his eyes bulged, and all vitality drained from his body. Yet Bi Fu, even in death, did not close his eyes. Instead, they remained wide open, as though he died with unresolved grievances, worried whether Duke of Thunder could escape.

He was well aware of Duke of Thunder's abilities. In the past, on Treasure Island, Duke had a formidable group of subordinates, boosted by his younger brother's flattery and his brother Lei Bao's encouragement, filling him with unprecedented confidence.

Bi Fu understood very well if Duke had real prowess. In terms of strength, Duke was indeed strong for his age, having already reached the beginner stage of the seventh degree in National Martial Arts. Yet his seventh degree was superficial, not genuinely deserving of the title.

Duke's prowess in National Martial Arts was only able to exert the power of the sixth degree. The first reason was his overconfidence, believing reaching the seventh degree at his age to be impressive. The second was the flock of followers flattering him, combined with his brother's praises, which made him complacent, reducing his training time and weakening his martial abilities.

Hence, Bi Fu worried if Duke could escape from the ruthless hands of Yan Zhong's men.

"Gong Qi, chase him. Let's see if he dares to jump into the sea, haha!" Yan Zhong laughed heartily, watching Duke of Thunder run away, paying no heed to Bi Fu's wide-open eyes in death.

Yan Zhong's other men detained Duke of Thunder's followers in place, waiting for Yan Zhong.

Yan Zhong and Gong Qi, along with more than ten others, slowly encircled towards the northeast.

Duke of Thunder, while escaping, quickly twisted open a bullet. He did this for survival. In the past, he would never have imagined pouring bullet gunpowder on a wound and cauterizing it with fire to seal it.

Duke of Thunder endured the pain in his leg, poured the gunpowder, and swiftly took a lighter from his clothes.

Though afraid of the pain, remembering Bi Fu's death and that of the two guards, he gritted his teeth and lit the wound with the lighter.

"Woosh!"

The flame from the lighter ignited the gunpowder on his wound, making a woosh sound and flashing out a brilliant light.

"Ah!"

Duke of Thunder screamed in pain, a scream that echoed throughout Luo Dousha.

Upon hearing this scream, Duke's subordinates sighed quietly, not expecting even their leader to be captured. They regretted not choosing to fight with Chairman Mao Zhan's group in the beginning.

Duke of Thunder's scream also woke up Ye Hao and Lin Ruyu, among others, who had been asleep.

The women crowded fearfully around Ye Hao. He patted their backs, chuckling, "It's alright, it's alright. With your husband here, sleep soundly!"

The women relaxed, trusting that Ye Hao would never allow anything to happen to them. Furthermore, Ye Hao possessed a mobile space, so if anything went awry, they could simply evade into it.

Lin Ruyu asked, "What was that sound just now?"

"Probably someone enduring some kind of torture. That's why they made such an inhumane sound," Ye Hao speculated.

"Really? Doesn't the area around Luo Dousha have nobody around at night? How could such a sound arise then?" Xia Zhu inquired, staying close to Ye Hao.

"Haha, normally there's nobody, but it doesn't rule out that some people like camping here. Of course! If it's you girls, I absolutely won't let you camp outside, only when I am with you," Ye Hao warned them.

"We wouldn't dare camp outside without you," Fang Ni murmured sleepily.

"Alright, my dear wives, other people's business doesn't concern us. Let's sleep!" Ye Hao smiled, calming their nerves to avoid frightening them.

"Alright, good night." The women nodded and went back to sleep.

Being around two or three o'clock, the time when fatigue is at its peak, they didn't ponder much further and went back to sleep.

Ye Hao also ignored the screams outside, simply content as long as no trouble came their way. As for other people's private matters, Ye Hao had no intention of getting involved.

Thus, Ye Hao and the four women quietly slipped into slumber.

Yet whether it was fate decreeing he wouldn't get a good night's sleep, or others being envious of his comfort thus causing trouble for him, rubbed the wrong way.

Duke of Thunder limped along, seeking any hint of light he could find. Even if it was a patrol on the sea, he would seek help. He couldn't die, for if he did, there'd be no one to avenge Fu and the others, nor anyone to tell of him being killed by Mao Zhan's men.

If that happened, he'd become the world's most tragic young underworld heir.

"Help..." As Duke of Thunder ran, his leg tendons twitched, causing the scar he had just burned closed to split open once more.

Blood flowed along the way, while Yan Zhong and co. didn't even need to chase him closely, instead approaching leisurely like taunting a clown.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Yan Zhong raised his gun, firing a few shots in the direction Duke was running. However, the bullets hit the cabin where Ye Hao was located...(To be continued.
