"Lao Ba," Luo Xiu said, "I see your mouth is as foul as ever. Be careful, or I might just cook you into soup one of these days!"

Luo Xiu and his three senior apprentice-sisters had found this Bage Bird on the back of the mountain when they were children. They brought it home and raised it, only for it to grow into a hooligan. However, this bird was highly intelligent; it didn't just mimic human speech but actually understood the meaning of the words and could communicate with people.

"Lao Ba, where did Master go? And Xiao Xue, you should know her—the girl who came up the mountain shortly after I left. She's my apprentice."

Lao Ba fluttered onto Luo Xiu's shoulder and rasped in its grating voice, "Old man. Left. Letter. Girl Xiao Xue. Went down mountain."

After speaking, Lao Ba flew off, returning a moment later with a letter in its beak.

Luo Xiu took the letter and hastily tore it open. It read:

"Luo Xiu, by the time you read this, I, your master, will have already left this world. There are things I must do.

A great calamity looms over all, and an era of turmoil is about to begin... Whether this world has a bright future now rests on the shoulders of your generation.

Also, that sword, Dream and Asura... have you found your reason to draw it since leaving the mountain?
