Originally, Lin Xiyue had planned to teach Luo Xiu a harsh lesson tonight to vent her anger over his past deception. To her surprise, however, the Luo Xiu of today was different. Having now cultivated the Thunder Path Physique, he was a virtually invincible existence. After just one battle, Lin Xiyue was completely overwhelmed.
「The next day.」
Luo Xiu awoke from his dream, feeling refreshed and invigorated, his entire body at ease. He looked at Lin Xiyue beside him, still lost in sweet dreams. Unable to resist, he reached out and pinched her cheek. The Nine Yin Constitution is truly something else, he sighed to himself. Its effects far surpass those of Luo Ying or Hua Muyan.
Luo Xiu also finally understood why something had always seemed to be drained from his body after each "battle" with Lin Xiyue, leaving him feeling weak but also suppressing the side effects of his own constitution.
After resting for several days in the Land of Lawlessness and enjoying a happy life with Lin Xiyue, Luo Xiu finally decided to continue exploring the Divine Organ Ground at Xun Mi's urging. He wished time could stand still forever, so he could make Lin Xiyue unable to walk every day... But it couldn't be helped; the journey had to go on.
The group emerged from the spatial entrance one by one, stepping onto the soil of the Divine Organ Ground. For this exploration, Luo Xiu hadn't brought anyone else. The group still consisted of the same few people: Lin Xiyue, Xun Mi, Mei Ji, and Watari Kagura, for a total of five.
Because they had the Divine Soil to conceal their auras, their arrival didn't stir the terrifying Emperor Corpse buried deep underground.
Xun Mi gazed up at the fragments of buildings floating in the sky. "The most valuable treasure in the Divine Organ Ground is undoubtedly the wisp of Ancient God's Breath within the Divine Palace," she said. "That's why cultivators from all over flock to this place."
Luo Xiu also looked up at the spectacular giant sword, ten thousand meters long, that was thrust horizontally through the cluster of buildings. "What's that sword for?" he asked.
Xun Mi shook her head lightly. "I don't know. It must have been left by some Great Emperor."
Master Ping's voice suddenly sounded in Luo Xiu's mind, "That is a sword from the Celestial Realm. Its purpose is likely to suppress the Ancient God's Breath."
Just then, a pure white Spiritual Power aura erupted from Xun Mi's body, enveloping Luo Xiu and the others. "Before, Xi Yue and I tried to enter the Divine Palace, but we were attacked by a Formation and nearly lost our lives," she explained. "This time, however, I'm confident I can break through it."
Luo Xiu turned to look at Xun Mi, astounded. "I remember you were the Red Emperor. When did you become the White Emperor?"
Xun Mi smiled faintly. "You've been too busy bullying Xi Yue these past few days. Naturally, you wouldn't have noticed."
"Hey, Sister Mi, what are you talking about... I was not bullied by this guy!" Lin Xiyue's pretty face flushed red as she pinched Xun Mi's arm. This Sister Mi... saying such things with an outsider present. She really has no filter.
Xun Mi pinched her back playfully, then turned to Luo Xiu. "This is also thanks to your Thunderstrike Wood. Now, aside from lacking the Nine Yin Constitution, I can exert about ninety percent of the power I had in my prime."
Luo Xiu gave a dry laugh. "Then it seems we'll have to depend on the great Nine Yin Emperor."
Xun Mi gave Luo Xiu a profound look. "The Divine Palace is bound to be filled with hidden dangers. You must protect Xi Yue."
In truth, from Xun Mi's perspective, Luo Xiu was already incredibly strong—so strong that even she, a White Emperor, could not see through him.
Then, Xun Mi led Luo Xiu and the others toward the Divine Palace in the sky.
The closer they got to the Divine Palace, the more awestruck they became, even though the massive complex had been shattered by the giant sword long ago. Just as Xun Mi had said, invisible Formations surrounded the Divine Palace, ready to obliterate any outsider who drew too near.
Luo Xiu stopped in the void, his eyes falling on the many corpses floating amidst the ruins ahead. They were shriveled and cracked, having died gruesome deaths. The densely packed corpses floated weightlessly among the wreckage, their appearance made exceptionally eerie by the dark red glow that bathed the area.
Xun Mi hovered silently, her expression grave. "Those are all Emperor Realm Experts."
Luo Xiu furrowed his brow. "Even Emperor Realm Experts are annihilated by the Formation?"
"Mere Profound Emperors are like ants before the power of a god," Xun Mi stated flatly.
Mei Ji's face turned pale as she gazed at the floating Emperor Corpses. She recognized a few of them; they had been famous experts in the Upper Realm, all stronger than her. For a moment, she felt a sudden rush of relief that she'd risked collaborating with Luo Xiu. Otherwise, with her strength as a mere Profound Emperor, she would have long since become one of those corpses had she explored the Divine Organ Ground alone.
Lin Xiyue clutched Luo Xiu's arm. "If a single Formation is this powerful, doesn't that mean the things inside are even more dangerous?"
At that moment, Master Ping flew out of Luo Xiu's Holy Lotus Jade Pendant. "A great battle once took place here, a battle beyond your imagination," he said. "And this Formation isn't actually protecting the Divine Palace. If my guess is correct, its source is that blade."
Luo Xiu asked, "What blade?"
"The Great Qian of Tai'a," Master Ping explained. "My archenemy. It's another sentient weapon, like me."
Watari Kagura suddenly spoke up. "Luo Xiu, I don't know if you're a man of your word."
Luo Xiu looked at her. "Of course I am."
"I want the Great Qian of Tai'a," Watari Kagura said. "I've seen records of this blade in my clan's archives. It is a Divine Object of my people."
Lin Xiyue's brow furrowed. "That blade is clearly extraordinary. What makes you think we would hand such a Divine Object over to an enemy?"
Watari Kagura ignored her, keeping her eyes fixed on Luo Xiu. "If you don't want to help me, there is indeed nothing I can do."
Luo Xiu smiled faintly. "I keep my promises."
"Thank you."
"Be careful, it's coming!" Xun Mi suddenly shouted, rushing forward to shield everyone.
Luo Xiu instantly sensed a terrifying, invisible aura tearing through the air and pulled Lin Xiyue behind him protectively. An oppressive presence of this magnitude could indeed kill an Emperor Realm Expert in an instant!
Standing alone at the front, Xun Mi's expression was grim. Her elegant hand swept forward, and a wave of white Spiritual Power surged out. With a thunderous boom, the void shattered.
"Find a chance to get inside! I'll hold it off!" she yelled.
"There's no need," Luo Xiu countered. "If we don't deal with this thing now, it'll just keep harassing us. We might as well find it and finish it."
"HAHAHA... Ignorant mortals, such grand words!"
As if in response to Luo Xiu's words, a voice echoed through the void. It was hollow and hoarse, its gender impossible to discern.
The next instant, a figure materialized before them. Luo Xiu looked up to see a shriveled corpse. A blade was embedded in the top of its head.
Master Ping laughed. "Da Qian, long time no see. You're as foolish as ever."
"Tai'a Divine Bottle! I never thought you'd stoop to consorting with these mortals. How shameful!"
Master Ping snorted. "Well, since you've shown yourself, you've saved us the trouble of looking for you."
The Great Qian of Tai'a retorted, "I came out to find *you*!"
"Enough talk. Do you dare fight me?"
"You're just a broken vase! I'll destroy you today!"
"Luo Xiu, lend me a drop of your blood!"
