The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 154 Xiao Yi

"Mr. Chen, we're so glad you've finally made it to the Imperial Capital!"

"Quick, get Mr. Chen and Miss Wei's luggage into the car!"

Qi Lei didn't dare show the slightest neglect. He bowed his head, took their luggage, and carefully loaded it into the trunk.

Once, he too had been a dazzling figure, someone everyone respectfully addressed as Young Master Qi. But now? Chen Zheng's arrival made him pale in comparison. Even his own father called the man 'Mr. Chen.' What could he possibly do? His heart filled with helplessness and despair.

"I was just tied up with a few things," Chen Zheng replied with a smile.

Qi Zhenyun was flattered and quickly said, "Mr. Chen, I've arranged a comfortable place for you. Would you like to head over now, or...?"

Chen Zheng turned to Wei Zixuan.

"I'd like to visit my second uncle's family first," Wei Zixuan said.

Chen Zheng nodded. "Leave a car for me. Just send the location later. You all can take the luggage ahead."

"Of course, Mr. Chen!" Qi Zhenyun said, shooting Qi Lei a stern look.

Qi Lei hurried forward and handed the car keys to Chen Zheng with the utmost respect.

"Then I'll leave this to you. We'll be on our way," Chen Zheng said as he took the keys.

He and Wei Zixuan got into the car. As their vehicle moved away through the city's hustle and bustle, Qi Zhenyun and the others watched until it disappeared from sight.

With Wei Zixuan giving directions, they navigated the bustling urban jungle and arrived at a quiet, upscale residential area. A luxurious villa stood before them. Their car pulled to a quiet stop at the entrance.

The moment they stepped out of the car, an elegant middle-aged woman appeared at the doorway.

"Zixuan, you're here already! Quick, come in!" the woman exclaimed with a joyful smile, pulling the door open.

"Auntie! It's been too long!" Wei Zixuan said with a smile, stepping forward to give the woman a hug.

"Yes, it really has!" The woman released Wei Zixuan and then turned to look at Chen Zheng, her eyes widening in surprise at his handsome features.

Noticing her reaction, Wei Zixuan quickly made the introductions. "Auntie, this is Chen Zheng, my boyfriend. Chen Zheng, this is my second aunt, Liu Ya."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Aunt Liu. Your skin is incredible! You look like you're eighteen," Chen Zheng said politely.

"Oh, my! You're quite the charmer," Liu Ya laughed, her gaze toward Chen Zheng softening. "This old aunt is nearly fifty!"

"Come, come, let's go inside," Liu Ya said, ushering them in. "Zixuan, have you been using the Beauty Cream and Spirit Cleansing Liquid? The results are amazing! Look at me—I feel like I've shed years!"

Hearing this, Wei Zixuan glanced at Chen Zheng before replying, "Don't worry, Auntie. I brought three full sets for you."

"Oh, really? That's wonderful! I've been looking for more of these rare items, but they're so hard to find."

"Well, now you won't have to worry," Wei Zixuan replied. "Besides, our collaboration is already in motion. I believe we won't have to worry about supply for much longer..."

The chatter between women was always lively and colorful. Despite being a workaholic, Wei Zixuan spoke with impressive passion and knowledge when it came to cosmetics.

Time flew by, and soon it was evening.

Wei Zixuan's second uncle, Xiao Yi, and her cousin, Xiao Mei, returned home. After a round of introductions, Chen Zheng was acquainted with them as well.

「Night fell.」

Chen Zheng and Wei Zixuan enjoyed a warm dinner at Xiao Yi's home. Chen Zheng found himself respecting Xiao Yi for his refined demeanor and warm, attentive hospitality.

After the meal, they chatted casually in the brightly lit living room. When Xiao Yi learned that Wei Zixuan was here for their grandfather's birthday celebration, he offered to go to the old family estate first thing in the morning. He suggested that Wei Zixuan and Chen Zheng could follow later with her aunt and cousin.

"How did things go today, dear?" Liu Ya asked with concern.

Xiao Yi just sighed and shook his head, looking as if he had run into a wall.

"What's wrong, Uncle?" Wei Zixuan asked, confused.

"Well, Zixuan, it's like this..." Liu Ya began to explain, her voice soft and flowing. It turned out that on his birthday, Xiao Menghai planned to hand over the leadership seal of the Xiao Family.

To outsiders, the seal might seem like a mere symbol. For a powerful clan like the Xiao Family, however, it represented immense power and glory. The family seal was the embodiment of the family's absolute authority—the key that unlocked its coffers of influence.

Therefore, Xiao Menghai had set a test for his two sons: at the birthday celebration, he would see which of them could garner more support from influential figures. Such connections were a vast network, capable of elevating the family's business to new heights.

For some time, Xiao Yi had been frequently meeting with the heads of major corporations to seek their backing. The guests he managed to invite were different from those his brother, Xiao Li, had secured, but Xiao Yi was confident in their support.

"I see," Wei Zixuan murmured, finally understanding the situation. She knew, however, that there was nothing she could do to help in this area.

Xiao Yi sighed. He decided he would try one more time tomorrow; if he failed again, he would have no choice but to give up.

Liu Ya said nothing more, and the mood in the room grew heavy.

Just then, Wei Zixuan stood up, announcing that she and Chen Zheng had to leave. Liu Ya quickly rose to her feet to ask them to stay, but Wei Zixuan politely declined.

"Xiao Mei, please walk your cousin out," Xiao Yi said softly.

"Goodbye, Aunt! Goodbye, Uncle!"

After the goodbyes, Xiao Mei walked them to the door and watched as Chen Zheng and Wei Zixuan drove away, their car disappearing down the street.

"Chen Zheng... do you think you could help my uncle?" Wei Zixuan suddenly asked once they were in the car.

[Ding! Congratulations, Host, for triggering a choice-based mission!]

[Option 1: Help Xiao Yi. Reward: Master-Level Calligraphy.]

[Option 2: Stand by and do nothing. Reward: A mouthful of nothing.]

Helping Xiao Yi wouldn't be hard, but the reward of 'Master-Level Calligraphy' seems pretty useless.

As for the second option, Chen Zheng dismissed it without a second thought. Since Wei Zixuan had asked him for help, there was no way he would refuse. He naturally accepted the first option.

Just then, Wei Zixuan added, "The Qi Family carries a lot of weight, you know."

"Alright. I'll give them a call tomorrow. It's just a banquet; I'm sure they'll do me the favor," Chen Zheng replied with a nod and a smile.

"Thank you, Chen Zheng," Wei Zixuan said gratefully, then leaned over and gave him a gentle kiss.

"Heh heh... So, does this mean we get to try that unusual position later?" Chen Zheng asked playfully.

Wei Zixuan's face flushed, and she shyly turned her head away.

Seeing her reaction, Chen Zheng dropped the teasing tone and accelerated. The car shot forward like a bolt of lightning, speeding toward the location Qi Zhenyun had sent.

The place Qi Zhenyun had prepared for Chen Zheng was a picture of sheer luxury. Compared to his residence in Yun City, this place was on a completely different level of opulence.
