The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 234: Public Humiliation!

Wang Li certainly wasn't very clear about Chen Zheng's situation in recent years. After she fell out with Huang Yiyi, they hadn't been in touch.

Chen Zheng slowly nodded and sat down beside her.

Actually, upon realizing the person across from him was Wang Li, Chen Zheng had already written her off.

Even though she was beautifully dressed and had a great figure, a woman some nerds might call a goddess, he knew exactly what she was really like.

When Wang Li was a teenager, her behavior was already quite unrestrained. He had earned her resentment back then simply because he advised Huang Yiyi to stay away from her.

A woman with such loose morals could absolutely not be with my cousin! If Auntie had a daughter-in-law like this, her life would be miserable! I might as well get everything out in the open right now.

"Since we're on a blind date, let's not beat around the bush!" Before Chen Zheng could react, Wang Li took the initiative to speak. "I've been working in villa sales in Jiangnan for the past few years!

"Recently, I was transferred to Yunshan. The matchmaker mentioned you've opened a fruit store and that business is quite good?"

"Forget all that... it's not important. What I'm concerned about now is, do you have a car and a house?"

Before Chen Zheng had a chance to speak, Wang Li, clearly impatient, asked again.

The only reason she chose to go on a blind date was that she was getting older and wanted to find a suitable man to settle down with. Who that man was wasn't actually important.

In Wang Li's view, she was young, beautiful, and had a decent job. Chen Zheng simply wasn't in a position to be picky. In fact, it was his good fortune that she would even consider him.

"I don't have a house... yet." Chen Zheng's lips curved into a slight smile. Hearing her, he decided not to reveal the truth just yet and instead replied with a meaningful tone.

"But my fruit store's business is excellent. Buying a house in a few years won't be a problem."

Upon hearing he had no house, Wang Li's brows furrowed, but her expression softened after he finished speaking.

"If that's the case, not having a house right now is acceptable. But when you do buy one, the property must be in my name!" Wang Li stated firmly.

"Not only that, you have to buy a house for each of my parents. After all, once we're married, my parents are your parents. And when my younger brother gets married, you have to buy him a house in the city center too!

"It's only proper, since he'll be your brother too. It would be unreasonable if you didn't buy him one.

"Also, my work keeps me very busy, so you'll have to handle all the housework. You'll probably need to hire a few maids."

From start to finish, Chen Zheng never got a chance to speak. Instead, Wang Li just kept listing her conditions.

However, Chen Zheng wasn't too bothered. A blind date is essentially a transaction, and there's nothing to criticize when both parties are willing participants. It's simply a matter of stating your terms.

"Miss Wang, I can agree to all the conditions you've mentioned, but I have just one question. Are you still... intact?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Li's face changed drastically.

Even the women at nearby tables who had overheard their conversation couldn't help but turn their heads to look.

What did he mean by "intact"?

He was obviously asking if she was still a virgin.

No one could believe Chen Zheng would ask such a private question so publicly.

Even Jiang Miaomiao, who had been eavesdropping from a short distance away, instinctively covered her face.

What on earth is he doing? Why doesn't he just tell her that the person she's supposed to be meeting is Jiang Ming? Why is he going through with this date for someone else? This is just a blind date. Why ask a question like that? Isn't he just looking for trouble?

At that moment, Wang Li's face turned beet red. They had known each other for so long. Others might not know her past, but Chen Zheng knew it all too well.

Asking such a question was a clear attempt to humiliate her.

"Chen Zheng, have you been drinking?

"What year do you think this is? Who even talks about things like that anymore?" Wang Li seethed, on the verge of throwing her water at him.

He's demanding a virgin? I lost my virginity back in high school! I've had dozens of boyfriends by now; I can't even remember who the first one was.

"Is that guy mental? Saying something so childish in this day and age. Where did he crawl out from?"

"So what if she's not a virgin anymore? Shouldn't loving someone mean accepting all of them, past and future?"

Several nearby women shot him scornful looks.

Society has progressed so much, but he's still making demands like this on a blind date!

Is he some kind of loser?

"I'm sorry, but when it comes to choosing a wife, that's my bottom line," Chen Zheng said calmly.

"You have a bottom line?" Wang Li sneered.

"Then let me ask you, are *you* still a virgin? If not, what right do you have to demand that of me?

"And if you *are* still a virgin, you must be what, twenty-six or twenty-seven by now?

"And what does not having a girlfriend at your age say about you? It just means you're a loser!

"A poor loser who can't even get a girlfriend—what right do you have to make these demands?"

By the end, Wang Li was screaming hysterically.

Hearing this, the expressions of the women around them turned smug.

She had a point. In this day and age, with more men than women, wasn't finding a girlfriend a blessing in itself? He's just a poor loser, talking about having a "bottom line." How ridiculous!

"Miss Wang, you listed a whole slew of demands earlier. That's called putting a price tag on yourself, just like in business," Chen Zheng said with a smirk, his tone mocking.

"Since this is a business deal, why would I buy something that isn't whole?

"It's like going to a high-end boutique and buying the latest pair of designer shoes, only to get them home and discover they've already been worn by someone else. How would you feel?"

Hearing this, the other men on dates in the cafe couldn't help but laugh out loud.

Now *that* was the right way to put it.
