The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 383: Speak All You Know Withhold Nothing

Chen Zheng had already spoken to them, asking the Night Watchmen to take the criminals away to avoid further trouble. Since the case involved kidnapping and extortion, each of them would be detained for a very long time. Once the Night Watchmen processed them, they would be handed over to the police.

Chen Zheng pulled Lin Maoshi aside from the group. Just then, a dissatisfied voice rang out, "Damn it, you had us deal with a bunch of punks!"

Chen Zheng looked toward the source of the voice and saw Fu Yu, still cursing under his breath as he moved closer.

Seeing Fu Yu, Chen Zheng immediately decided to separate Lin Maoshi from the others being taken away, leaving them to the police. He kept Lin Maoshi behind, planning to deal with him later.

Lin Maoshi was slightly taken aback. For some reason, just hearing Chen Zheng's tone sent a chill down his spine. He looked at Lin Xiaoya, about to speak, but Fu Yu cut him off. "Shut up!"

With that, Fu Yu chopped the back of Lin Maoshi's neck. The man trembled once before slumping to the ground, unconscious.

"Alright," Fu Yu said, waving to Chen Zheng. He had obviously realized that Chen Zheng intended to fight Teluos to the death. He snorted coldly and said, "Watch your back. Make sure you stay safe!"

"Don't worry," Chen Zheng replied with a smile.

Then, he turned to a confused Lin Xiaoya. "Let's go back. You just focus on your work, and I'll arrange the rest for you."

Lin Xiaoya nodded and obediently followed Chen Zheng to the car. It was only after she was seated inside that she looked over at him hesitantly.

Chen Zheng couldn't help but laugh. "I knew you'd have questions. Go ahead and ask. I'll be completely open with you."

Lin Xiaoya bit her lip and nodded. "So, you came to Dazhi for another reason?"

Chen Zheng nodded. "Yes."

"Who exactly are you?" Lin Xiaoya asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

Chen Zheng hesitated for a moment, then sighed. "I can tell you, but you must never repeat it to anyone else."

"I swear," Lin Xiaoya said.

Chen Zheng didn't hide anything. He knew the existence of the Night Watchmen couldn't be kept secret for long. The Sharp Ghosts were appearing with increasing frequency, so it was only a matter of time before the truth came out. The Night Watchmen preferred to avoid widespread chaos, so they tried to delay the revelation as long as possible. But since Lin Xiaoya had asked, Chen Zheng no longer held back and told her about the Night Watch Legion.

Lin Xiaoya wasn't as shocked as he expected. Instead, she smiled bitterly as if she had anticipated something like this. "You and I... we're simply not on the same level."

Chen Zheng was silent.

He sighed softly. I'm not a fool. How could I not see how she feels about me?

But just as Lin Xiaoya said, they were from completely different worlds. Chen Zheng had a fondness for her; he knew she was ambitious, hardworking, and had shouldered her family's burdens at a young age. But he also understood that their paths would never truly cross.

"Alright, you should go home and rest," Chen Zheng said with a smile. "Let's leave it at that. We still have to work tomorrow."

"Okay," Lin Xiaoya nodded. "No matter what happens, you have to stay safe. If you're ever in Yanjing, I'll come see you immediately!"

Chen Zheng smiled and couldn't help but affectionately rub her head.

The car traveled silently along the road. Outside the window, the bustling city was at its most lively, illuminated by the night. Chen Zheng drove Lin Xiaoya back to her home. As for her car, Dazhi Company would send someone to take care of it the next day.

The car door opened, and Lin Xiaoya got out. Her face was flushed as she said to Chen Zheng, "Chen Zheng, may I give you a hug?"

Chen Zheng was taken aback, but of course, he wouldn't refuse such a request from a beautiful woman. When he got out of the car, she tenderly embraced him, resting her head on his shoulder. "Goodbye."

"Yeah. Take care," Chen Zheng said cheerfully.

Lin Xiaoya gently pushed him away. "Go on now."

Chen Zheng got back into the driver's seat, waved at her, and started the car.

Lin Xiaoya watched the car depart, her eyes growing moist. She didn't even know when she had fallen for Chen Zheng, but she understood they could never be together, which left her feeling powerless.

It wasn't until the car disappeared from sight that Lin Xiaoya came back to her senses. Clutching her fists, she told herself, Lin Xiaoya, you have to try your best to forget him!

How could I ever forget? Wouldn't it be better to just stay by his side forever?

Startled by the thought, Lin Xiaoya turned around. She saw a Western man in a suit, leaning on a cane and holding a book, smiling at her.

Lin Xiaoya was taken aback. "You are..."

"I am Professor X," the man said. "I can train you to be like Chen Zheng. Or rather, I can make you even stronger."

Professor X smiled faintly, took a card from his pocket, and handed it to her. "Don't be so quick to refuse. Think it over and let me know. This is my card. If you're interested, you can find me at Yanjing University."

Lin Xiaoya stared blankly at the card in her hand. Before she could react, Professor X had vanished. If it weren't for the very real card she was holding, she would have thought it was all in her head.

「」

While on the road, Chen Zheng called Ming Chong to inform him that he was in Yanjing and ready to go. Ming Chong's reply was clear: they were to leave immediately. He was obviously eager to kill Teluos.

Chen Zheng turned the car around and sped toward the airport. On the way, he called Han Dong to ask him to pick up his car the next day, then contacted Fu Yu, telling him to drive the unconscious Lin Maoshi over.

About an hour later, Chen Zheng was waiting in a private channel at Yanjing International Airport. Before long, he saw Ming Chong rushing over.

As soon as Ming Chong arrived, he handed the swords, "Po Kong" and "Wu Ming," to Chen Zheng. "Let's go," he instructed. "We'll sleep on the helicopter tonight. Once we reach the City of Sin, we can deal with Teluos as quickly as possible and then head back. I don't think the Sharp Ghosts will attack again so soon."

Chen Zheng said, "Wait a moment. The person I'm bringing is almost here."

Ming Chong was slightly surprised but nodded in agreement.

Soon after, Fu Yu arrived with a few men. Seeing Ming Chong with Chen Zheng, he quickly bowed. "Mr. Ming."

Ming Chong nodded lightly in acknowledgment.

Fu Yu then turned to Chen Zheng. "Be careful. Only a few Blue Specters have descended recently, so we can handle things here. You just focus on your fight with Teluos."

Chen Zheng smiled. "That's good. You take care of yourself."

After saying his goodbyes, Chen Zheng carried the unconscious Lin Maoshi onto the helicopter.

After settling Lin Maoshi down, Chen Zheng took a seat and closed his eyes to rest. It was going to be a long flight; the journey to their destination would take more than ten hours.

Chen Zheng settled in for the ride. This was his third time coming to this world.

Ming Chong stared out the window, clenching the twin swords in his hands. He didn't sleep, his mind lost in thought.
