The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 395: A Rarity Seen Once in a Hundred Years!

Ming Chong thought for a moment before speaking. "We're going to set up a temporary airfield here, so you won't need to take a boat. Just stay put and wait for it to be completed, then we can fly back."

Chen Zheng was utterly baffled.

With the power of the Night Watchers, constructing a makeshift airfield wasn't a difficult task. There were plenty of roads in the area, and with a few modifications, they could easily accommodate several planes.

Chen Zheng nodded. "Okay!"

"I'll have someone bring you dinner," Ming Chong added. "Actually, I'll cook it myself."

Chen Zheng's eyes lit up. The food from the Sihe Restaurant had been incredibly satisfying. It turned out that Ming Chong, besides being the Number One Night Watcher, was also a phenomenal chef—one of the best in the world.

"Alright, let's go," Chen Zheng said.

The three of them got back into the car. This time, they drove faster, arriving at the dock before long. The pier was deserted; it had been much quieter ever since Teluos's death.

Chen Zheng found a chair on the dock and sat down before turning to Lyu Yang. "Why don't you head into town and find a game of mahjong? Otherwise, just waiting around here will be incredibly boring."

"Good point!" Lyu Yang nodded. With that, he drove back toward the city.

Chen Zheng led Li Yuqin to a small boat, and they both sat down.

Suddenly, a flurry of hurried footsteps reached Chen Zheng's ears. He looked up to see more than a dozen men running out from the main dock area. However, when they saw Chen Zheng sitting on the boat, they all froze, huddling together and not daring to advance another step.

Chen Zheng waved a dismissive hand, and the group of men turned ashen-faced before scurrying away dejectedly.

"You certainly have a lot of influence. They flee in terror at the mere sight of you," Li Yuqin said, looking at Chen Zheng with envy. "When we get back, let's get married."

"Uh, isn't that a bit sudden?" Chen Zheng quickly demurred.

He instantly regretted sending Lyu Yang off to play mahjong. He should have suggested a game himself. Now he was left alone with Li Yuqin, and the situation felt a bit awkward. To be honest, it hadn't felt this way before. Li Yuqin had been his good friend and used to visit often. She would always bring up marriage, and eventually, the others in Troop 6654 started teasing them about it, with Chen Zheng just laughing along on the sidelines. But after five or six years apart, they had become almost like strangers.

"I'm not in a hurry," Li Yuqin pouted. "You're twenty-eight, and I'm already twenty-seven. And there's something else I need to tell you!"

"Go on," Chen Zheng said with a frown.

"Not many people know about this yet, because my grandfather hasn't been able to confirm it. He said they've discovered a massive number of ghosts in space. We aren't certain, as further verification is needed, but if our suspicions are correct, it means these ghosts have already begun their invasion," Li Yuqin sighed. "That would be a global catastrophe. That's why I want to marry you. We need to have children."

Chen Zheng was stunned. He turned to Li Yuqin abruptly and asked, "Are you sure?"

"I've already left the base, so I don't know the exact details, but I've contacted Grandfather Zhuo Ming. More enemies are bound to appear, and our peaceful days will be over," Li Yuqin pursed her lips. "I don't even have a boyfriend, and here I am hoping to have your baby."

Chen Zheng's brow was deeply furrowed.

In truth, he knew nothing about what Jian Xing had told Zhuo Ming would happen in ten days. But now, Li Yuqin's words made his heart tighten. If the Sharp Ghost clan launched a major offensive with far greater numbers than before, and if Teluos's estimate of a purple-tier demon appearing was correct, it would be an absolute disaster. The destruction these Sharp Ghosts could unleash upon a normal town would be immense. His parents, relatives, and friends were still in Linhai and Yanjing, and the thought made him deeply worried.

"Did your grandfather say how long it would be?" Chen Zheng asked.

Li Yuqin nodded. "My grandfather said it would take him over a month to get back. I've only been away from the base for about ten days."

Chen Zheng fell silent.

"Don't worry, maybe my grandfather was wrong," Li Yuqin said reassuringly. "In any case, we'll be back soon. I'll look after your parents, so you can fight without any worries. I'm really strong, you know!"

As she spoke, she playfully flexed her small hand.

Li Yuqin was undeniably a martial arts prodigy. If it weren't for her lack of combat experience, she could be considered a top-tier expert. Her innate strength was formidable, but she simply hadn't been through many real fights.

"Is this fate?" Chen Zheng sighed softly.

「Yanjing University」

In a classroom, Professor X, wearing a pair of sunglasses, was smiling and chatting with his students. Suddenly, his gaze shifted to the window. In a flash, his figure vanished.

The next moment, he reappeared on the rooftop of a tall building on campus.

He looked up at the meteor shower streaking across the sky and frowned. "Could I have miscalculated? This is nearly three days earlier than I predicted."

After saying this, he burst into laughter.

At first, it was just a laugh, but it quickly grew louder, more unhinged, more insane.

"It's here! Our grand experiment is about to begin!"

「Yanjing, The Capital」

Countless people rushed out of buildings, gathering in the streets and public squares to watch the spectacle.

"What's going on?"

"Damn, how can there be so many meteors in broad daylight?"

"My God, this is a once-in-a-lifetime sight!"

...

Many people exclaimed in amazement, feeling no sense of crisis. Having grown up in an era of peace, they had no idea what this celestial event truly signified. Many even took out their phones, preparing to record the shocking scene.

At this very moment, however, the great families of Yanjing were thrown into a complete frenzy. Huang Jiajia was dragged to the airport without even her luggage, while the children of other wealthy families were also being gathered together. The sheer scale of the phenomenon filled them with genuine despair. This was an omen of immense significance.

On the streets of Yanjing, traffic continued to flow as most people went about their day, oblivious. But on the outskirts of the city, at the headquarters of the Night Watch Legion, Fu Yu stared up at the sky, his expression grim. Behind him, every member of Yanjing's Night Watch Legion had assembled.

"Now," Han Li sighed slowly, "we're in real trouble."
