The Forsaken's Revenge

Chapter 462 Ancestral Instructions

"Hao'er, according to our ancestral teachings, direct descendants of the Chu Family can possess the blood of our Immortal King Realm ancestors! This time, we will use Chu Hao's blood to help you break through to the Great Perfection of the Golden Core Stage! Then, we can seize the Immortal Pill from the Immortal King ancestor! An Immortal Pill is a treasure that exists only in legends! Even Immortal King Realm cultivators would gain immense benefits from it!" Chu Hongyi said, a smile on her face.

"Chu Hongyi!" Chu Yinghao flew into a rage. "How dare you set me up! If I win, who will lead the Chu Family as Family Head? If I lose, I will become the eternal sinner of the Chu Family! I cannot possibly lose to you. Only I can become the new Family Head of the Chu Family!"

"Then let's settle this with a battle. Chu Hao is from the Chu Family's direct bloodline, and you are from a collateral line. He's not fit to be the Family Head!" Chu Hongyi replied indifferently, shaking her head.

BOOM!

Just then, an explosion echoed from afar, and Chu Hongyi's expression changed slightly.

This is one of the Chu Family's forbidden areas! With Chu Family experts guarding it, how could there be an explosion?

CRASH!

The great doors of the Chu Family's ancestral hall flew open, and Chu Hao stumbled in, severely injured and in a wretched state.

"Chu Hao!" Seeing his condition, Chu Hongyi's pretty face instantly turned grim. He was grievously injured and covered in blood.

"Hongyi, it's Chu Hao! He's not dead! He actually escaped the attack of the Immortal Tribulation!"

"How could this piece of trash have escaped an Immortal Tribulation?"

"Even a cultivator at the peak of the Golden Core Stage couldn't withstand it! And he's merely at the Foundation Establishment level!"

Chu Hao's arrival caused a stir, and everyone found it strange.

BOOM!

At that moment, the void suddenly split open! A formidable aura descended, enveloping the Chu Family in an instant.

WHOOSH!

Inside the ancestral hall, everyone except Chu Hongyi—all the direct descendants of the Chu Family, including the servants and slaves—raised their heads in unison.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Chu Yinghao grew even more excited. His fists cracked as he clenched them, his eyes fixed on the ceiling. It was as if he could see through the roof to the vast sky beyond. He felt it was the Celestial Court, and he desperately wanted to become an Immortal.

SWISH!

The next moment, a gigantic corpse fell from above. It was a mummified corpse, its skin long since devoid of moisture. Yet, it still emitted a terrifying immortal might.

An Immortal's corpse! Chu Hao shuddered.

THUMP!

He fell to his knees.

"Paying respects to Martial Grand-Uncle!" Chu Hao kowtowed to the mummified corpse.

"An Immortal!"

"This is the corpse of an Immortal!"

"An Immortal's corpse actually appeared here!" The members of the Chu Family's direct line all wore expressions of shock.

This mummified corpse was no ordinary thing. It wasn't a mortal, it was an Immortal! The corpse of an Immortal! It was absolutely priceless! Rumor had it that an Immortal's corpse contained a hidden immortal fate. By consuming and refining it, one could attain that fate and cultivate an immortal body!

"You recognize this corpse?" Chu Hongyi frowned as she looked at Chu Hao. She had always felt that something about him wasn't quite right.

"I do! This disciple has seen an Immortal's corpse before!" Chu Hao lowered his head, gritting his teeth as hatred flickered in his eyes.

BOOM!

Chu Yinghao stepped forward, blocking Chu Hongyi's line of sight and fixing his gaze on Chu Hao. "Chu Hongyi, you caused the death of our ancestor, and now you want to kill me too! Get out of my way!"

Chu Hongyi swept her divine sense over Chu Yinghao, a mocking expression appearing on her face. He's completely lost his mind.

"Hao'er, let's go." She had no interest in squabbling with Chu Yinghao, so she pulled Chu Hao along and left the ancestral hall. Chu Yinghao stood there dumbfounded, his eyes growing more venomous. "You wench," he snarled, "do you think I'll lose? I definitely will not lose!"

「...」

Outside the Chu Family's estate, Xiao Jiuge fiddled with the sword pellet Chu Hongyi had given him. "Your physical body is strong, but your cultivation is too weak," he said faintly. "I'll help you enhance your physical strength. Try it for yourself."

"I don't need it!" Chu Hao snorted coldly and turned to walk towards the Chu Family grounds.

"Chu Hao!"

However, his path was blocked. The one who stopped him was his uncle, Chu Tianwu.

Chu Tianwu's gaze was icy as he stared at Chu Hao. "Do you know why I'm stopping you? It's incredibly dangerous inside!"

"Dangerous? Don't tell me the Immortal's corpse is in there?" Chu Hao's eyes narrowed and his heart began to race. This corpse must be extraordinary!

"Not only is the Immortal's corpse inside, but so is the Nascent Soul of a Golden Core Stage cultivator," Chu Tianwu confirmed with a nod.

"The Nascent Soul of a Golden Core Stage cultivator is inside?" Chu Hao's eyes widened with disbelief, and he barged right in.

"Chu Hao! Don't go in!" Chu Tianwu roared, but it was useless.

As soon as Chu Hao entered the ancestral hall, he was immediately trapped by an invisible force.

"Damn it! Chu Yinghao, you dare deceive me! I won't let you get away with this!" Chu Hao roared in fury.

"Chu Yinghao is Chu Yinghao, and you are you! Your father was indeed from the direct line, but you are merely an illegitimate son. What right do you have to the family inheritance?" Chu Yinghao sneered maliciously as he followed Chu Hao inside.

"Family Head, the young master doesn't understand the rules! Please spare him this once!" outside the ancestral hall, the direct descendants of the Chu Family pleaded with Chu Yinghao.

"Hah! Rules are rigid, but people are flexible. The Chu Family cannot keep him!" Chu Yinghao smiled grimly, then kicked down the ancestral hall's main door and charged inside.

Inside the ancestral hall, a coffin floated in mid-air. Chu Hao saw a figure in white robes sitting cross-legged within it. The figure opened its eyes, and two cold glints of light shot out from its face. Then, it stood up abruptly and reached out across the void to grab Chu Hao!

CRACK!

The void shattered, and Chu Hao screamed as his physical body disintegrated.

"This is bad! Retreat!"

"This mummified corpse is an Immortal! Run!"

Terrified, the other direct descendants of the Chu Family fled in a panic.

"Hmph!" The man in white robes snorted and pointed a finger. One by one, the fleeing Chu Family descendants exploded into gore. In the blink of an eye, only Chu Hongyi, Chu Yinghao, and an old man remained.

This old man was a retainer from Chu Hongyi's maternal family.

"Ancestor!" Chu Yinghao cried out.

"Father, save me!" Chu Hongyi screamed. The two of them trembled with fear.

"The bones of an Immortal cannot be destroyed! Though this venerable one has fallen, I left behind my Nascent Soul. Today, I shall borrow your bodies to aid in my resurrection!" the man in white robes declared coldly, extending a palm toward Chu Hongyi.

"Father, save me! I'm your daughter!" Chu Hongyi screamed, trying to resist but finding herself completely powerless.

"Miss!" the retainer cried out anxiously.

"You're courting death! You dare try to kill my daughter? You truly don't take me, Chu Yinghao, seriously! In that case, you can die too!" With a ferocious expression, Chu Yinghao pounced toward Chu Hongyi. He intended to merge with her, *become* her, and then achieve immortality.

BOOM!

Just as Chu Yinghao was about to reach Chu Hongyi, and she was about to be absorbed by the white-robed man, the ancestral hall began to shake violently. Immediately after, layers of sealing runes appeared on the surrounding walls.

CRACK!

All the sealing runes shattered.

Then, swirls of black mist emerged within the ancestral hall, eventually condensing into a giant skull.

ROAR!

The skull opened its mouth and exhaled, spitting out a ball of black flame that landed on Chu Yinghao, instantly setting him ablaze.

"No!" Chu Yinghao roared in agony.

He tried to struggle, but his strength was vastly inferior to the skull's. He was almost immediately engulfed by the black flames.

"Ah!" he screamed miserably, using every trick he had to flee. But after escaping several hundred feet, he stopped, realizing there was no getting away.
