The Extra's Dimensional Library

Chapter 90: Space

"They want a show? I'll give them a show. After all, the bar has been set pretty high for me," Raze thought before spreading out his arms.

What he was about to attempt was something he had never done before, and it had something to do with the flame wisps that he had just learned.

The flame wisps started forming around his body one after the other. The sight was already stunning, as no one saw his mouth move, yet he cast more than twenty flame wisps, and they were floating around him, moving in a simple pattern.

His smile widened as he kicked into the next part, which was water wisps. The water formed, twenty in number, placing themselves in between the gaps of the flame wisps. It was a sight to behold, everyone was stunned by it.

"Is he casting two spells at once, controlling all the flame and water?" one person asked in shock, echoing the question on everyone's mind.

He turned to face Gavin. "Attack me. With a spell," he said.

Gavin was a bit confused, but he lifted his hands and cast a fireball. It was immediately stopped by one of the water wisps, and then a flame wisp shot out. Gavin had to use his sword to block it, the force knocked his hands back.

After that, Raze stopped his presentation and looked at Sofia. She had a grim expression on her face, like she'd seen something she wasn't supposed to.

"You pass. Perfect scores," she said.

"Another perfect score? Who exactly is that person?" questions began flying.

Raze smiled as he walked away. Sofia watched his back with the same expression on her face. After that, everyone did their examination one after another, but nothing else could be impressive again. The passes were bland; their performances had shattered the standard of the exam—Raze, the girl, and Gavin. Especially Raze, who cast a spell without a word. Up until today, most didn't believe that was even possible.

After the exams were done, only three hundred students managed to enter the first year of the prestigious academy, and what followed was the two-day activity that had been set to determine their rankings in the first year.

It turned out to be an underground dungeon dive. There was an ancient dungeon beneath the academy, and it was what was going to be used to assess them. After that, the students would all be given their rankings.

Raze, on the other hand, refused to head there. While all of them went to the location, he headed to find Lady Rose. After asking around, some teachers showed him her office.

[....]

Raze sat cross-legged inside Lady Rose's office, looking at the beautiful white walls that contrasted with the black of the academy's outer walls. There was a soft smell of incense and tea. A dark brown table sat at the center, with files and books neatly stacked on it. On the other side, Lady Rose sat with a cup of hot tea in her hand, glasses on her eyes, and a soft smile on her face.

"So you're actually the headmistress of the academy," Raze said. "When I was searching for you, everyone kept saying, 'Oh, the headmistress.'"

"Indeed, but I'd prefer if we kept the normal relationship we have and it doesn't turn into something academic all of a sudden," she said, then sipped her tea.

"That being said, why aren't you participating in the latest segment for the new students?" she asked.

"I don't want to do that. I have to head to the Crimson Auction House later today and also have some research to make," Raze said.

"Oh, I guess that's why you came to see me then," she stated.

"Yup, just wanted to let you know," he replied.

"That's fine. Your status as a student isn't like the others, after all. There's a reason I want you affiliated with this academy. I'll be needing your help for a few things going forward, and as long as you help me do what needs to be done and handle the compulsory student stuff like exams, you're free to do whatever you want," she explained.

"That's great, thank you. I'll be heading out then. I'll see you soon," Raze waved before he left, closing the door behind him.

She sipped her tea after he left and let out a relaxing breath. "Raze Grimhold," she muttered.

The moment Raze was out of the academy, he headed into the city. The Raven Academy was part of the city, but it was like an extension of the city's north, because the size of the academy was that of a town itself.

He headed for the central city, because up north was filled with bougie shops, restaurants, and more. He just wanted a normal inn for now. He finally found a cheap one and got in.

The moment he stepped into the room, he shut the door, lay on the old bed, and shut his eyes. Instantly, he opened them in the library.

The moment he walked in, he saw the librarian floating next to him. He leaped in fright. "Hey yo!" It stayed there for a few seconds and then floated away, heading to the upper floors.

"Sigh, what's with that librarian?" he muttered, watching it leave.

He walked through the aisle. Today, he was going for a reading spree, and what he wanted to do was make a way to get home whenever he wanted without needing to travel.

He was about to learn spatial magic, and he was going to learn it properly. He pulled out every book on space that was there and stacked them on the table.

"It's been a while since I actually put effort into reading like this. I've been slacking. Time to get those pages in," he said before sitting down and picking the first. He flipped open the book, and the world around him vanished.
