Now, the only one that remained alive in that alley was the bald-headed man wearing a wife-beater, his form trembling as he pleaded, 'Please, please don't kill me!'
Amethyst did not answer him; she merely observed, a smile gracing her lips as she registered his expression.
His expression was a mix of fear and desperation, his body trembling as he crawled closer to Amethyst. "Please-"
"Swoosh!" He suddenly lunged towards her, retrieving a knife from god knows where and swinging it wildly at her.
Amethyst took a step back in response, barely dodging the knife. "Bam!" She then stomped on his face, the slap of her oversized flip-flop connecting with his jaw echoing through the alley.
"Argh!" The bald man grunted and fell onto his back, but he was persistent, rising to his knees once more. But the moment he tried to get to his feet, he wobbled and fell back down as though the ground were made of oil.
"Come on, darling, surely you can do better than that. I'm waiting on that rape thing you promised me." Amethyst giggled at his struggle, the sound of her voice seemingly enraging the bald man.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME!" He lunged towards her again, but Amethyst just took a wide step back, her giggles echoing in the alley.
The bald-headed man, though, was persistent, desperately crawling towards the woman before him, 'She caused this. If I kill her, I'll be able to walk again,' he thought, his vision blurring at the prospect of life as a cripple.
Amethyst, on the other hand, seemed awfully jolly, "Haha, harder," she giggled as she lowered her form, snapping her fingers at the crawling man as though she were leading a dog.
"Here, here darling." She added, leading him deeper into the alley but at that moment.
"It came from here!"
"Who's shooting on our turf?"
"Where are those fuckers?"
Multiple enraged voices sounded out; and by their volume and number, it was clear that they came from a sizable mob.
The cloaked figure who had been quietly watching Amethyst's display raised his head at the sound, his gruff voice cutting through the air. 'We are leaving, Big Sis."
"Wait-" Amethyst wanted to protest, but the ground beneath her feet vanished, forcing her through a hole in reality.
The bald-headed man also experienced the same phenomenon, his gaze blurring as he fell, and when his gaze stabilized, he felt the wind shooting against his skin.
"Shit! Shit!" He began to shout in the next moment as he realized he was somewhere in the open sky, free-falling to an unknown destination.
"Ahhh hahah," a familiar laugh sounded out above him, and as his body tumbled haphazardly in the sky, he caught sight of the cloaked man and the spontaneous woman free-falling as well.
'I'm gonna die,' he thought in terror at the sight of them, his hands and legs flailing to maintain balance.
"Woooo!" Stinging particles of moisture assaulted his skin as he plunged through a pitch-black cloud, the smell of sulfur invading his nostrils as his vision blackened completely.
"JESUS," he took in a thin breath when he finally broke through, his eyes barely taking in his surroundings.
Even though he was somewhere in the sky, it did not get any brighter than it was at the moment.
"Bam!"
"Argh!" The man exclaimed as a familiar rainbow-clad figure collided with him, so strongly that his vision blurred.
Said figure then straddled him from behind; an audible tear sounding out as she ripped the wife-beater from his torso.
In the next moment, pain exploded across his back as though his skin were being flayed, wrenching a deafening scream of terror from his lungs.
"GET OF ME! GET OF ME FUCKING WITCH! JESUS! GOD, I REPENT! I'LL GIVE MY LIFE TO CHRIST!" He yelled, his screams drowned out by the sound of rushing wind.
He reached back to her, trying desperately to throw her off but despite his continuous effort, he could not get a solid hold on her.
During his struggles, amid the stinging pain on his back, he caught sight of the cloaked figure who accompanied this crazy woman, and Amethyst seemed to have spotted him as well.
"Will you shut him up? Let's take him for a swim," Amethyst suddenly spoke, her voice fragmented by the high-speed fall.
"The fu-gugugu!' His surroundings changed instantly. The cold chill of water forced its way into his mouth, a heavy burn spreading through his lungs.
But Amethyst remained straddled to him, still cutting at his back with that sharp object.
He was drowning, his haphazard movements slowing as he clawed at the open water.
He felt his vision dimming and in that moment, he saw a large shadow in front of him, a forceful wave drawing him in as the beast opened its mouth.
'I'm gonna die,' he thought, but then another hole appeared before him, and before he could make sense of up or down, he was suddenly rolling haphazardly on the ground, the earthy scent of leaves and dirt invading his nostrils.
"Gaaaa!" He drew up on while he rolled, water gushing out of his nose and throat but burning pain still lingered.
"Haaa! Haaa!" the bare-chested man exclaimed like a madman, his senses completely disoriented as he clawed at the dirt which stuck to him like glue.
It was as though his brain struggled to comprehend the rapid change of his surroundings.
When his mind was less clouded, he found himself crawling in an open forest, surrounded by monolithic trees that seemed as ancient as the earth itself.
His surroundings were darker, though, courtesy of the canopy of trees that hindered what pitiful rays of light the clouds failed to block.
"I live, I'm fucking alive, thank you God-"
"God didn't open a portal for you, sweetie," a distinct voice sounded out behind him, causing his heart to skip a beat.
"No! No! No! Stay away! Stay away from me," the man turned back and saw Amethyst standing beside the cloaked man, both figures as soaked as he was.
"Stay still and open your mouth, honey," Amethyst spoke again, walking up to him, her once vibrant sweater now completely soggy. She seemed to completely disregard his look of complete terror.
"What do you want? Money? Souls? Baby Souls? I-I can get them for you- I can-"
"Pfft!" The cloaked man chuckled slightly.
"Silence!' Amethyst snapped at the cloaked man, her eyes twitching slightly at the bald man's words before she turned to him. "Stay still, lest I cut off both your arms. What is your name?" She asked.
"I-I'm-"
"Answer me," Amethyst reinforced as she drew even closer to the bald man, her hand latching onto his jaw.
"Hmm, Ken," the man spoke, his voice slightly hindered by Amethyst's fingers, which dug into his cheek.
His back stung horribly; the pain was near maddening, but he could not focus on it even if he tried.
For as his heart pounded in his chest and adrenaline flooded his bloodstream, his focus was directed towards one singular entity (the woman before), yet it was not the fight instinct that took control of him, nor was it the flight.
He simply froze.
Amethyst seemed rather pleased by his sudden obedience, a smile growing on her lips as she instructed, "Open your mouth."
Ken felt a chill run down his spine at those words, so he pleaded, "Please- argh!" Amethyst shoved what appeared to be a black, roundish pill into his mouth, forcing him to swallow.
"Good boy," she nodded after inspecting his open mouth, her form rising as she said. "I like your flexibility, you got guts, don't forget who you belong to if you survive."
"What?" Ken whispered in confusion at first, but Amethyst had already redirected her attention from him at that time.
In the next moment, she looked towards the cloaked man, her smile on her face as she asked. "How would you like to relearn how to use your powers?"
The cloaked figure seemed flustered at those words, "Sorry big sis, I-"
"Take us back, we still have to visit the underworld," She spoke to the cloaked figure before stopping herself, a gleam appearing in her eyes as she asked, "Aren't you strong enough to take us there directly?"
"Unfortunately, I am not," The cloaked figure responded, shaking his head as he spoke, "We'll have to get in through the slums."
"Shhhhhhh!"
A loud shriek suddenly tore through the forest, sending resting birds flying in all directions.
"Ohh already? I guess that's our cue, bye, Ken," Amethyst waved at the bare-chested man on the ground.
"W-what, wait," Ken called out, already scared out of his mind by the previous sound, but the mysterious duo had already turned away, the air before them distorting before tearing into a spherical hole in reality.
"WAIT!!" Ken found himself screaming as he watched them step through, but no matter how he tried he still could not get to his feet.
And so he could only watch as the hole closed as silently as it had appeared. Unfortunately, he was not alone.
"Thud! Thud! Thud!"
The repeated pitter-pattering of padded feet drew his attention, getting closer (clearer) with each dawning moment.
Something was rapidly approaching him.
