The door opened and in order to maintain the facáde, Carl pretended to panic and concealed the book he had been reading and acted flustered.
"Sorry..." Grenda said as she walked in on him and saw how strangely he was acting. "...I didn't mean to interrupt, I'll leave you to... Whatever you were doing."
She quickly hurried out and left, leaving Carl unsure how to proceed, but in the end he decided that if he simply stopped it would be more suspicious and continued.
It was clear from the start, Gilgamesh knew everything about us up to then and he divulged our secrets to the others before granting us our names, I have put that information below and trust you to know the risk I'm taking in revealing this information.
First was Mercurian, his real name Dangun and he is one you might be able to sway and has already shown that he is spending a good deal of time pondering you. When he was born several thousand years ago, he went on to found a kingdom known as Korea, wisdom, innovation and just rule were his principles.
Aside from that, he was one of those that objected to the idea of not warning you, the man hates underhanded tactics and anything even vaguely conspiracy adjacent. He yielded to Gilgamesh only to try and limit such action, but he has confided in me about his ever present moral objections.
In terms of power, the man is able to manipulate space better than any of us, as well as undoubtedly being one of the top three most intelligent.
Second was Venusiah, A woman who had surprisingly escaped his eye on more than one occasion and always reappeared with a new face and name. Honestly I think that she has likely forgotten her origins too. I also suspect that the pride she held in being the only one to escape Gilgamesh's gaze is the reason she fears your son so greatly.
Aside from the fact she is fiercely loyal to the committee and not so much the individuals who make it up, I honestly don't know anything about her. She seems to have the ability to drive people into some kind of devoted frenzy, not entirely dissimilar to the way succubi work.
Third was Terra, Margaret Reed, though more commonly known as "Shady Meg Of King's Lynn. Her atrocities are to many to name and her legacy is the greatest shame we can bare as beings of the sames species as her.
Between her and her "daughters", they have defiled and befouled and burnt everything good, sacred and pure unlucky enough to cross their path.
Despite what you may think, I don't say this often, but if you ever get the chance you should kill her as horrifically and quickly as possible, just remember that she survived being burned at the stake.
In terms of weaknesses, she is by far the weakest physically, the problem is that she is almost immortal even now and can likely use her daughters as a reincarnation point, we can't think of any other reason she'd play mother to anyone.
She has almost infinite magical capacity, several soul forms, the ability to become incorporeal and once held myself, Marsian, Venusiah Mercurian and Satur at bay long enough for Sol to burn away every hive of The Carrion infecting our territory and come to her aid with Gilgamesh making his support clear.
Do not underestimate her.
Fourth was Marsian, Ajax the greater, was a hero in the ancient nation of Greece, born in a time when we variants were far more common. His legend was one often seen as lesser, though only because despite his power and ferocity in battle, he preferred being on defense and after the death of Achilles, he held back the entire Trojan army single-handedly so his countrymen could retreat.
His is by far the strongest of us physically and his body, even lacking immortality, is practically indestructible. After your first visit, he disciplined the others and actually managed to catch Terra off-guard and knock her out and ever since he first met you, he has been visibly dissatisfied with Gilgamesh's choices.
I was the fifth and youngest of us all, I suspect with your allies, you likely know all you need to about me.
My real name however Is Justin King, the old friend I left in charge was the son of the one that named me Jupiter and what inspired Gilgamesh's naming convention.
My powers are inspirational aura, Deception sense, several other things that come under the crusader class' skill tree in video games.
Satur was after, he is a favourite of the law of Infinity, a devoted conduit like yourself and the only reason I survived the fight with Terra. With that in mind, I will betray neither his secrets nor him.
Following him was, Ura. Aside from Sol, I would say he is likely the biggest threat to you. He is old and whilst he was never able to escape Gilgamesh's notice like Venusiah, he did share her penchant for donning new identities.
He is a just man, but his stubborn streak eclipses even Gilgamesh's and unless you can make him see you as the one to follow, he will not consider rebelling. If you can though, he will die for you in a heartbeat.
After him came Neptunia, the singularly most powerful psychic among our number and another devoted conduit to the law of Mind.
He is also rather well skilled in soul manipulation, but not when you share the spotlight with Terra, your affinity with the law of soul is meaningless.
Finally was Plutinas, the most creative he is a hedonist, sadist and utter fool.
He is also, whilst I hate to admit it, an incredibly inspired individual and the reason human society looks the way it does. If it weren't for his divine muse ability, mankind would never have taken to the stars.
That said, his muse has remained silent for centuries and he is little more than a pet at our table. I suspect the others only risked Marsian's wrath on his account out of either fear of Gilgamesh or loyalty to the committee.
I hope you find some use for this information and that which follows, unfortunately it is mainly vague outlinings of our territory, population and military. The only information I have that is significant, is the reason I believe Earth to be so special and my hypothesis on why our species is the way it is.
Carl had to fight to maintain his disguise of simply doing the kind of thing teenagers do, internally he was furious and ranting and cursing. 'Dammit Jupiterran, get your priorities right and lead with that stuff first! I've got a wife and fiancé I can't explain what Grenda walked in on to and not much time to do this and keep you safe from suspicion!'
Just at that moment, the wife and fiancé in question entered and he had to replay his flustered act all over again.
"What exactly are you doing in here?" Kyubi asked sternly.
"I'm interested too, Grenda seemed rather squeamish after walking in on you and now you're acting rather flustered too." Klaire added, slightly more dangerously than Kyubi.
"Okay look, before I explain, do you mind if I put up a sensory blocking aura?"
"Talk." The word was order, one from two authorities he was powerless against.
"Okay, fine... Tiamutael, tell your siblings I love them and do not watch us for the next few hours. I'd hate you to be a witness to my murder."
'Dad, I really hope it was worth it.'
"Are you just going to ignore us?"
"No, of course not. Look, I was a little concerned about myself, okay. I know I'm not very... Well, you know... So, I looked at some varied material to see If anything struck a chord, but nothing. Am I really enough to keep you two happy? Am I broken? I just don't get why I don't get the same urges everyone else does."
The ladies were a little surprised and could tell that he had lied, but also detected that the sentiment he was hiding behind was genuine and knew he wouldn't have thought to use such a thing as a shield unless it was important.
"Carl, we love you with everything we have. We aren't with you because you are some kind of sex-god, most of them are just depraved hedonists regardless." Kyubi replied.
"Don't get her wrong though, when we do get you in the mood, we both enjoy the moment and are satisfied..." Klaire looked at Kyubi, unsure if she wouldn't be letting the more mature one handle it, but feeling like that might be taken as her not wanting to be a part of it. "...Carl, don't forget, we both have about the same drive and we have each other when you aren't in the mood."
"Look, I know I'm being a bit stupid, but I just wondered if perhaps I'm a bit naive and couldn't find something that the idea of you two doing made me more available for you two."
"No Carl, we're both ecstatic you love us enough to talk about it. If you really are just looking for inspiration on the matter..." Kyubi looked to Klaire briefly, then back as she wondered if she wasn't being a bit too mature about the situation. "...I'm fine with it, just don't try anything funny without talking to us about it as openly as you are now. Spontaneity is good, but permission is essential."
"Oh, no, I'd never do anything without asking you about it. I'm not looking at anything too adventurous though, mainly just different ways to increase labido a little bit with diet, I tried looking at stuff a bit more graphic, but it just felt awkward and wrong."
"Carl, I love you, but you really are the worst excuse for a man in his teens. Don't guys usually talk about this stuff when their preparing to work out or hanging out?"
"Hell, No. In the changing rooms we looked firmly at the locker in front of us and left as soon as we got dressed, occasionally pelting someone with a blind throw of deodorant when someone asks. When Gil and I hung out, we either studied in relative silence or played games and only spoke to point out enemies, collectibles or easter eggs."
