Beyond SSS-Rank After Getting The God System

Chapter 202: Two More Immortals Part 5

It was an awkward situation, they were standing around and waiting for the others to drop their barrier, but since they couldn't actually tell they just stood in silence trying not to think about it.

Just as Gillian was about to suggest an adventure however a portal opened rather surprisingly and a demon not too dissimilar from Lillim stepped through. "Hey, Clarisse. Here to speak about your dad?"

The demon looked around at everyone then changed to a more human form. "Kind of, I came to apologise for you having to deal with it."

"No worries, I owed you for the training anyway."

"Well, we're even, but why are you all just standing there?"

"Your nephew is being a husband." Gillian laughed.

"Oh, right. If you want something to do, I can train you all some more. Mum told me I should show my thanks, it's weird how fluffy she's gotten lately."

They all discussed it and came to the conclusion that it wasn't for them, which left Clarisse exasperated. "Why don't we go kill those night-walkers over there? Since Mum and Gaia are buddies now, I'm sure she would appreciate it."

"Did you say night-walkers?"

"Yeah, they are pretty well hidden, but I'm better at detecting them after my stay in their realm. You can tell by how black the shadows of the buildings are, the way that there isn't any magic around them either, it's too empty."

"Well, that I'm happy to do, I need to train with my new abilities."

Clarisse smiled and marched off towards the ruins, the others asking Gillian if they should really be doing it.

Gillian thought about it then simply told them that it would be wrong to let them get away with attacking Carl's friend's settlement.

"Gillian, think about it. We're guests here now, we have no right and Gaia may be aware." Blanc's words earned only a grunt, but Gillian couldn't argue, so he stopped and asked her.

"Oh, really? Sure, kill the squatters if you wish and congratulations. I would appreciate you not inviting the chaos queen to my territory though, it's a miracle everything's undamaged."

"She said she's more annoyed about Illerion being welcomed here."

"Well, that was Lycaon, tell her to speak to him about it."

With that, they continued on their way, which was quite a journey moving at normal speed and made Clarisse pout over the sluggish pace.

"Clarisse, can I ask you about your relationship with Leanna?"

"Ugh, the golden child. She's uptight and boring to a fault, she likes puzzles and paperwork, spent about a century doing it for infernal administrators for fun."

Gillian, Sophie and Blanc couldn't help but laugh. It was about what they would expect from Leanna, but Scylla wasn't done with interview.

"What about Lillim?"

"Mum's a taskmaster, there's lots of beings, from lots of species, in lots of realms that are better off dead. Mum used to lead by example, but now it's all on us, all we got was a quick "consider me semi-retired" and a goodbye kiss."

"Then the next thing they knew was they were being call on to train a group of kids."

"Maybe, but you were quick learners and I wouldn't mind taking a tumble with that succubi, but I prefer men and she rejected me anyway."

"Why are you two such good friends?" Scylla asked whilst boring holes into the back of Gillian's head.

"Simple, to almost everyone, including you little Scylla, we are Lillim's bloodthirsty daughters. Gillian however, Gillian actually bothered to learn our names and thanked us at the end of every session. Just so you know, if you fumble him, it will be catastrophic to the family tree."

Scylla grumbled about that comment for the rest of the journey, then Clarisse suddenly stopped and turned, then jabbed a finger into her forehead.

"Hey!"

"Shut up. Stop being an idiot, did you not even think about how I knew your name little she-wolf? Stop sulking, he turned us all down and told us he already had the love of his life. Stop acting like an outsider, it's insulting when you're the only one really on the inside, you should value that more."

"Why are all immortals so obsessed with finding partners?" Sophie asked suddenly.

"Because eternity is boring alone, besides I'm not immortal, long-lived and immortal are two different things. Imagine having to live for centuries alone, then dying alone. Of course we all want to find someone to spend that time with."

"Blanc, I think I upset her."

"Clarisse is a sweetheart, just apologise. The only person she doesn't like is Carl, but don't get that conversation started." Blanc replied, with a bit of a chuckle, but apparently not quite quietly enough.

"Grr! Blanc, it's not that I don't like him, I just don't like the fact he's such a grandma's boy that she ran off to play housemaid. He needs to drop that cringey humanity and just start killing his enemies or she'll be gone forever, like when he became a devoted conduit, we were all so proud of the way he pulled Dracula apart, melted him, crushed his body, mind and spirit..." Clarisse went into a strangely loving rant talking about that incident.

"So you want him to slaughter everything in his way so you can have your mum back?"

"Duh, do you have any idea how hard it is keep the more bloodthirsty sisters in line without Mum? Anyway we're here. Yoohoo! You shadows are so bright I'm surprised you didn't starve to death! Go on kids, they'll be pretty pissed so go all-out, obviously I'll step in if you lose a limb."

"Wow Clarisse, you need to work on notice."

As the shadows she yelled to suddenly became upright and with those final words, two buildings suddenly collapsed behind them.

"Hahaha! The dorks overshot them! Come on boys, You need to get the hang of that new power!"

Scylla and Sophie were slack-jawed, they had never seen their respective partners actually use their full abilities before and they still hadn't. One second they were there, the next they were gone and they were completely unable to follow.

"I don't get it, how high are their stats? Mine are pretty good now and I couldn't follow them at all."

"Oh sweetie, you didn't see it but they both took their true forms and have stats in the billions or hundreds of millions at least, did you think an ascension was just for show? That power accumulation is no joke, yes a lot of it is just discharged but these boys were taught by the daughters of Lillim, they don't let power being dangled in front of them, go."

"Whose stronger? No contest, just curious since I've never seen Blanc fight."

"Well, I would say they're about even overall... Gillian's stats are seriously good for a newly ascended and he's got versatility, but Blanc seems to be splitting himself and each copy has about ninety percent of the last copy's stats. Oh I get it, he's copying himself to a point of gradual adjustment, he definitely has the brains."

Over where he had missiled himself into the building, Gillian was jumping up and down lightly in the spot. "Hey Blanc! You struggling too?"

"Yeah! Really was a massive boost and I didn't even get as much as you, sorry dude, but we're gonna have to not sleep with the girls for a while."

"Yeah, we'll crush them in our sleep, it doesn't look like our systems can power lock us anymore."

"Anyway, these things killed our buddy's buddies, let's make them regret it."

"Yeah, then you can start therapy." As Gillian spoke he launched himself back at one of the night-walkers, this time landing and tearing into it with the same chimera parts he used against Jack.

Teeth tore and claws shredded and before long the Night-walker was collapsing as it succumbed to the soul poisoning of Gillian's deathly claws, yet as he looked over to see how Blanc was doing, Gillian saw that Blanc's was completely engulfed in marine blue flames and flailing wildly.

The most dangerous thing about the night-walkers were the fact they made absolutely no noise and didn't affect the way noise travelled either. It was kind of unsettling for Gillian as he watched the creature burn to death in what was clearly utter agony and yet also complete and utter silence.

"Blanc! That scared the piss out of me!"

"Then kill the rest and don't watch, it isn't exactly fun for me!"

"Wait a minute! Are you the fire? Dude, what the hell!?"

"Get on with it, or Clarisse will get mad!"

Blanc's reminder made Gillian gulp, as sweet as she had proven between training, she was a very strict teacher and didn't abide slacking.

The night-walkers all fell in short order, then as they were congratulating themselves, Clarisse proved Blanc's warning correct and appeared next to them in demon form. It was obvious just from that why she had arrived, but as boosted as they were, they had no where near the stats she did.

"Boys, why exactly are you congratulating yourselves after such a poor showing?" With that, she grabbed both of them by the head with two arms for Blanc and four for Gillian, then smashed them into each other and then the ground.

"Ow! Seriously, we're sorry."

"Sorry? Don't be sorry, be better. You got new stats and inflated egos, get them under control and stop embarrassing your teachers. Gillian, talk to your fiancé more. Blanc, make sure you help yours get used to her abilities. What the hell is she, by the way?"

"Chaos-vampire... She just evolved after drinking Illerion's blood."

Clarisse transformed again and cleaned out her ears before asking Blanc to repeat himself, which he did with a healthy dose of caution.

"Okay... I'm training her."

"Before you get carried away, Illerion's actually kind of a friend of ours, don't get the wrong idea."

"Friend or not, anyone that makes her bleed is a friend of demons."

"I don't think it's really that special, I'm pretty sure if you told her decapitation was a kink she'd try it."

"Ugh, wouldn't surprise me I guess, she still has the skin from all the demons she killed in a realm she stores her collection."

Gillian had to swallow his vomit on that one which got him back in Clarisse's good graces.

"Anyway, think Carl's awake yet?"

"Is that what we're calling it?"

"Yep, all they were doing is sleeping."

"That's adorable you two and yes they are, you guys go ahead and get back to the brat, I'm gonna have a look around. Something feels off and I want Mum to get some good favours worth from Gaia."

"Thanks for the lesson." They both said, which made her laugh considering she never taught them anything, then she walked into the ruins.
