"So you're saying you wouldn't even try to put up a fight against them?" I asked with a slight smile as she looked up at me with desperate eyes.
She knew I was teasing and playing around with her, but it seemed I went a bit too far with my next words.
"How's your son?"
"P-Please have mercy," The maid squeezed out as tears ran down her face, and I felt a deadly presence appear behind me.
"It's been a while… Mason,"
At the beginning of the creation of Tolf, we had five commanders who greatly helped us out when we started to raid the mansions of other families.
And, you could say these commanders were stronger than all of the leaders since while we were managing and working, they were continuously on the front lines expanding our territory and keeping other major powers in check.
And Mason, the man with chocolate brown skin, locked hair, nebula-purple eyes, and now a pretty toned body, stood right behind me.
His presence was as threatening as ever, and from what I could tell,
"You definitely surpassed me," I smiled before shaking his hand, and as he pulled out a chair at the table I was sitting at, I saw him dressed in some casual clothes.
"Please stop bugging the staff," Mason politely requested as he poured himself a glass of wine straight from my own personal bottle.
Well, it's not like I was planning on finishing the entire thing, so this definitely would've helped me out.
"How have you been?" Mason asked, rolling a silver ring between his fingers.
"Pretty stressed out as always… but it also seems like you're married. How long have you been together, and who is the lucky lady?" I smirked.
"Well, I've been married to Abigail for about one year now… it's also been a pretty stressful year for me since the heroes are really beginning to push us back. Soon, we might not have any territory in some places of the world left…."
"So, you want us to assist you?" I asked, attempting to assume what he wanted.
"Nope, just give us more funding so we can pay the blacksmiths. Those bastards are greedy as hell… although I could say the same for you, Miss Trillionaire," The man smirked right back at me.
His nebula eyes grazed my body, trailing down to my stomach, where his eyes widened, impressed.
"Huh? You're pregnant?" The man stuttered, and I suddenly sprayed my wine across the table, straight into his face upon hearing those words.
"You're joking, right? How do you know I'm pregnant,"
"With these eyes of mine, I can detect life… and from your womb, I can feel and see a faint lifeform being created… congratulations… also… how the fuck did you even do that? Unless you cheated on Mia, but I doubt you would ever do that,"
"Mia created a potion that allowed her to grow a… a uhhhhh… uhhhh…"
"I know what you mean… interesting… well, if you want, I can even tell you the gender now since it's pretty apparent. Also, that thing is growing much faster than any normal human,"
"Well, we aren't human," I smirked before rubbing my belly. "Also, I already know it's a girl… I'm just glad I can finally raise a child… I'll spoil her till my heart's content,"
"I can't stay here much longer since Mia actually called me out here a few minutes ago, so I'll be on my way. Congratulations on your baby… I'm sure she'll turn out to be a lovely woman," Mason said before taking his glass of wine and walking away.
I couldn't help but excitedly jump in my seat as I didn't realize how fast I would actually be getting a baby.
If I could, I would hug Mia right now, but I knew she was stressed and just wanted some time alone… maybe I should've told Mason that… oh well.
"C-Congratulations," The maid I had been teasing before announced, and the other maids chimed in to praise me.
"Thank you all…." I smiled.
…
Later that night, when Mia and I were having a peaceful dinner together, I told her the extravagant news.
"It seems your potion really worked. I'm already pregnant," I smiled, and Mia's mouth suddenly hung open, the wine she attempted to swallow slowly pouring out from her mouth.
"R-Really? I-It finally worked? W-We can finally have a child?" She asked, tears welling up in her eyes, almost making me cry as well.
"Yes…"
"Th-That's amazing… finally… finally…." Mia muttered as tears streamed down her face; I got up from my chair and comforted her.
After a few minutes of her letting out all of her pent-up emotions, I finally returned to my seat with a maid handing Mia a small handkerchief to blow her nose.
"It also seems the extra juice I put in to try and make it work sped up the development process… if you don't mind, I'll send one of my subordinates to your territory just to check up on the status of the baby. I don't want her having any problems or you as well…" Mia assured me, and as I stretched out my hand to hold hers, I nearly cried again.
That night when we went to sleep, Mia hugged me from behind, slowly rubbing my belly as we fell into a deep slumber.
Her warm body mixed with my cold body created the perfect temperature that we were sure would help the baby out.
…
(Japanese Branch Leader POV)
"Ugh… shit… shit… shit… shit… They already found out," I muttered as I ran through the alleyway, attempting to escape the eyes of the first branch leader's personal shadow team.
They followed me through the cyberpunk streets until I was finally cornered and unable to run.
The man with long dark blue hair covered his mouth gracefully with a fan as if he wasn't one of the most brutal and absolutely horrific men in this country.
"Y-You goddamn monster! Do you even understand how many lives have been taken because of Tolf?! The world would be better off without them!" I shouted as he slowly approached me, water slowly seeping from his hands and wrapping around my wrists.
My hands were suddenly locked behind my back, and as he threw me over his shoulder, I attempted to bite his ear.
Though, my mouth was quickly muffled by a tentacle of water that nearly went straight down my entire esophagus.
"Fufufu… I'm just kidding," The man chuckled with a clearly fake smile as he ripped the tentacle out of my throat, leaving me gagging and gasping for air.
"Y-You piece of shit…."
"I'm taking you to her excellency since she wishes to meet with you," The man holding me muttered, and a chill was immediately shot down my spine.
I tried to keep a calm expression, but deep down, I knew that meeting with her would most likely result in my death.
No, I might even have a fate worse than death, such as being locked in an underwater prison and continuously drowning until I die of old age.
"J-JUST KILL ME NOW!" I shouted, but the man just continued to smile fakely as we soon arrived at a teleporter.
He hacked into it by insertic his cybernetic fingers and effortlessly bypassed the layers of security that would normally take a year or two to get through.
And then, we reappeared in the Japanese countryside, in front of a massive traditional Japanese castle that sent shivers down my spine.
The pressure just leaking from it made my body sweat uncontrollably, yet for some reason, I was dragged into an interrogation room instead of brought before the leader.
"S-So she doesn't want to get her hands dirty, huh?" I muttered as a foreign woman in a white lab coat entered the room, her white hair greeting me gracefully and her bright green eyes glimmering across the room.
I intended on keeping my mouth shut until the woman finally said,
"Crush the shadow of the rising sun,"
"Are you a spy planted by the emperor?" I asked, a bit excited since I didn't realize he actually had that kind of influence.
Damn, I really picked right when betraying Tolf.
"Shhhhh… Cameras are everywhere… though, I altered the footage already, so feel free to say what you want," The woman smiled, sitting across the table on her own wooden chair.
"Can I trust you with the information I've gathered?" I asked since there was a possibility she was a double spy who gave information to both sides.
"I swear upon the emperor and his child that I would never do such a thing," She lightly smiled gracefully before slowly leaning in. "Also, the emperor told me to break you out, so feel lucky lowly traitors subordinate like you actually paid so much attention,"
I couldn't help but smile as this woman was legit, so I told her all of my information to prove my loyalty to the emperor.
"Alright… We'll escape as soon as the bitch in here loses focus. She's constantly busy and will take a while to get to the actual hall, so we'll use that chance to escape… Follow right after me and do not anything else,"
"I got you,"
