The Rise of Quetzalcoatl

Chapter 338: The Emperor (3)

Mia just stared into my eyes, causing me to speak up once again.

"W-What is it? W-Were you even listening?" I asked, and to no surprise, she replied with a response that nearly made me let out the loudest groan of pain in existence.

"You're so cute… and yeah, I had no clue what the fuck you were talking about, so good luck," She smiled just as we reached the throne room, taking down the mask from around our voices just before the two twin doors swung open.

On the throne was the emperor, and right beside him was his son, who looked to be in his early teens, a harsh glare directed right at us.

He could be quite the match for my daughter… but I need to see these skills of his first.

"Welcome back. This is my son, Rai. He can be quite reserved but really comes out of his shell with the people he is familiar with,"

"What's up with the glare? Did we do something wrong?" Mia chuckled with the emperor being unamused as he slightly shoved his son forward to go greet us.

He walked down from the raised part of the throne room and grabbed my hand gently, lightly kissing it before doing the same with my girlfriend.

My eyes were still cold, and I couldn't help but let out a long groan as the boy clearly had no intention of forming good relations with us.

"Do you know why you're here?" I asked the boy just before he returned to his father.

He slowly turned back towards me, his eyes slightly squinting, really revealing the natural green in his eyes, which shimmered ever so slightly.

In tandem with his long pitch-black hair and soft white skin, I could tell he was going to be very handsome in the future, meaning there was a chance Ada would like this boy… in the future.

Not yet, of course, since she's so old mentally, but hopefully, she stays mature and doesn't get on his nerves if this actually goes through.

"I'm here to meet my potential in-laws… though I don't see why I should be forming relations with worldwide criminals," He snarled before returning back to his father's side, who couldn't help but lightly smile.

"So, what do you think? Do you think they'll last until we achieve our goals? A mutual hostage situation where both of us can't help but work together,"

"He's passable," I sighed with the boy glaring even harder at me, but it seemed Mia had enough of his disrespect and sent a bolt of pink lightning flying straight at him, forcing the emperor to step in and block it with the sleeve of his robe.

"Get this brat out of here. I'm gonna kill him before he even manages to get near my daughter," Mia scoffed, with the emperor quickly shooting his head toward her.

"I don't give a shit about your opinion on him… this isn't even about them, but a means to achieve our goals… and my goal especially. You clearly have an advantageous position in the future, so why don't you just take your win and shut the fuck up," The emperor retorted quickly while standing up.

Both of their auras clashed, but it only ended with me placing my hand on Mia's shoulder, causing her to shiver as she looked at my cold eyes.

"Tch… I'll be in the hallway. Tell me how it goes,"

"Just stop making trouble…." I sighed, and as she quickly left, the emperor returned his eyes to me, and we both stared at each other for a bit.

The tension within the room was thicker than the very deepest parts of the ocean, but as a woman rose from my shadow and a little girl stepped out, the tension broke.

(Ada POV)

"Woooooow… so this is the emperor's throne room… it's a bit… barren?" I couldn't help but blurt out as excitement got the better of me.

"Indeed it is," Charna muttered before returning to my mother's shadow, leaving me with the seemingly all-powerful woman right by my side.

I felt completely invincible with her right next to me, and that was only further accentuated by Charna hiding in my mother's shadow… though I could only trust her since my mother was right there.

"Ada, look up," Mother said, and as I raised my head, I saw the emperor in all his glory, with a stern little kid right beside him.

"Who is he?" I scoffed.

"Your fiance," My mother announced, and before I could even let out a gasp of whatever the mix of emotions I was feeling, the boy spoke up.

"I'm not marrying such a thing!" He shouted, and I took full offense to this, conjuring massive green flames in the palms of my hands.

But, of course, my mother did not take nicely to this, as she grabbed the back of my head and a fistful of hair, which allowed her to bring me down as we both bowed.

"It will be nice working with you," She said, a long smirk stretching across her face as we both soon raised upwards.

The emperor brought his boy down from the raised part of the throne room and to our level, where both bowed as well, the boy as much or even more reluctant than me.

"That hurt," I quickly slapped away my mother's hand, rubbing the back of my head to try and get her to pity me, but clearly, from her cold eyes, that didn't work in the slightest.

As the emperor raised his head, I couldn't help but let out a long groan that would be identical to mother… and clearly, she needed this, so I just ended my complaints there and stepped forward, sizing the boy up a bit.

He came forward as well, copying the same thing, and soon, I reached out my hand to shake it.

"I don't intend on getting familiar with you," I smirked and as he smirked back, he slapped my hand and then grabbed it, shaking it firmly.

"Right back to you,"
