"I didn't come here for much… but I lied about coming for you," She smiled, her pupils one by one shifting to the doorway, which had my mother standing there, a plate of food right in her hands.

"Don't worry, I wasn't going to do anything. You're too uptight…." She chuckled before wrapping her arm around me and bringing my head into her lap. "She reminds me of my own daughter… how I missed the days when she was but a tiny child."

"What do you really want, Kumo?"

The spider goddess smiled, the spider legs attached to her back wriggling for the first time since coming here.

"I want to know what you're going to do about this situation. Are you seriously going to let Arpious walk all over you, or will you try and rebel… you may be her servant, but you're now a god,"

"If you've come here to provoke me, then you're wasting your time. Get out of here before I punch a hole through your stomach,"

"You want to test that? You seem pretty eager so how about you come over here and test that theory out… come on, don't be scared," The spider goddess smiled, the ends of her mouth practically touching her earlobes.

"Tch…" My mother clicked her tongue before letting out a long releasing sigh. "I don't care if she walks all over me. I am her servant and nothing else. She has already agreed to spare my daughter and granddaughter… I won't ask for anything else as long as she keeps that promise,"

"So disappointing… where did the strong goddess go…." The spider goddess frowned before looking down at me and slowly running her thumb down the bridge of my nose. "You're quite pretty. If you ever want to become my concubine, then say something… I'll come right to you."

"I already have a girlfriend… no thanks,"

And just like that, the woman's ears perked up like she was a dog, her frown slowly slipping into a smile before she began to laugh out loud.

"Oh man, you remind me of my old self. Calculating and innocent… looking up at another woman who is so powerful… but you'll come to terms with reality soon. I mean, you are a demi-god, so you'll see the truth eventually. I'll be waiting," She winked at me before disappearing, causing me to flop onto the bed below.

I was still in shock as I stared up at the blank ceiling, heaving heavily while my mother ran over to me.

"Wh-Who was that?" I asked, slowly sitting up and wiping the sweat from my forehead, slowly drenching my back as we spoke.

"That was Kumo… a wife of the supreme goddess,"

"She has a wife…?" I raised my eyebrow since I never expected that woman to actually have a lover with such a horrible personality.

"Somehow… she has many wives and a few husbands. Though, most rarely like her anymore due to her crippling personality. After becoming the supreme goddess, it was as if her entire personality had taken an entire one-eighty turn… it was quite sad to see,"

"Hm… well… when do I meet up with her again? She said I have to become her apostle or something… right?"

"*sigh*... yes, and I feel it's for the best. Becoming her apostle will be quite demanding, but at least you'll be safe. You'll even receive a boost in power if you're lucky,"

"And when will I meet her again-"

"N-Nothing," I stuttered, and as the woman's glare softened, she pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a long sigh.

"Geez… Whatever, I guess we can get right to it. I don't really care, though," She rolled her eyes, snapping her fingers, causing a warm light to envelop me.

I looked up at the woman who almost looked at me with pity, her eyes glistening with a duo of teardrops gathering on her eyelids.

She doesn't seem as bad as others make her out to be….

"No, I'm fine. I'll lose everything I've worked towards over the years of my life. Going back in time and fixing every possible mistake I've made sounds sweet… but I don't feel like losing everything… on top of that, I feel you're hiding something from me,"

The woman smiled before slowly nodding.
