"Can I have your contact info?" The beautiful lady, Aella, parted her lips as she asked in a calm, neutral tone, her voice carrying a quiet confidence that made the simple question feel strangely intimate.
Arthur was a little taken aback by the directness of her approach. For a heartbeat, he just stared, caught between surprise and mild admiration.
'If only girls were always this direct with their emotions and feelings…' he couldn't help but lamphoon internally, the thought edged with humor and a flicker of disbelief.
Putting on a calm smile, he glanced at her curiously. "Yeah, sure."
Aella's expression didn't shift one bit. Even with Arthur's reply, she remained collected, unreadable, and he couldn't tell if she was pleased to receive his number or just going through the motions.
Perhaps he was giving himself too much credit.
He let out a slow breath and removed his hand from his phone, noticing the three apps displayed on the screen. His movements stalled for a moment, his gaze lingering, before he opened the app store.
Just as he expected, the 'phone' app was sitting there like it had been waiting for him from the start.
Shaking his head in faint amusement, he spent 10 A.P to download it.
The download finished instantly, the app popping onto his home page as if it had always belonged there.
Opening it, Arthur saw his phone number displayed clearly in a neat, almost elegant format.
"Here's my number." Arthur finally answered, noting Aella's growing impatience at the delay.
Aella brought out her own phone, which looked almost identical to his, and recorded his contact details with swift, practiced motions.
"I'm Aella," she said, offering him a slight smile.
The smile transformed her completely. For a brief moment, she looked so breathtakingly beautiful that Arthur found himself dazed, his thoughts scattering like loose papers in the wind.
But it only lasted an instant.
Before Aella noticed anything, he pulled himself together and replied, "I'm Arthur Pendragon."
"I know," Aella said, her calm voice drifting back to him as she turned and walked away without looking back. "You're quite popular."
Arthur stood frozen, bewildered by her statement. What popularity? Who was spreading nonsense?
He shook his head and walked off as well.
Meanwhile, left in the class, Jacob and the other girl who had started the insult earlier, Sylvia, glanced at Arthur's departing back. Their expressions were a clash of confusion and annoyance.
Sylvia's eyes burned with anger. Arthur wasn't supposed to be on their level, so seeing Aella, the top student, casually associating with him, made her blood boil.
Rather than directing her irritation at Aella, she threw it all on Arthur, because in her mind it was obviously his fault.
'He's bald. He isn't even that handsome…' she wrinkled her brows in disgust.
"Jacob, where are you going?"
A sharp male voice echoed through the room as Jacob's group noticed him casually striding out without a single word to them.
"None of your business." With his hands in his pockets, Jacob replied with cold indifference, giving them a single flat glance.
Many thoughts churned through his mind as he walked, and without realizing it he subconsciously headed in the same direction Aella had left.
…
After leaving class, Arthur returned to the cafeteria to get some snacks for the little fox before heading back to the dormitory.
Once inside his room, he collapsed onto the bed. Today had truly been a long one.
'I never imagined that after studying at a university back on Earth I would have to attend school again.'
It was interesting seeing all the new faces, especially the girls with their varied kinds of beauty, but Arthur still found himself sighing at how stressful everything was.
'To think I'll have to spend three years here.' Arthur lamphooned internally, completely unwilling to spend that much time trapped in the academy.
With all these thoughts clouding his mind, he drifted off into a deep sleep.
…
Time stretched on as Arthur slept, and Nephis silently watched over him like a loyal sentinel.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
A sharp knock echoed from the door. Arthur was far too deep in sleep to notice the first one, but when it came again, louder, he finally stirred, groggily dragging himself to his feet.
He cast a brief glance at Nephis before pulling the door open.
His expression instantly morphed into shock.
"Ga–Gabriella? What are you doing here?"
His mind snapped awake, thoughts clearing all at once at the sight of Gabriella standing at the entrance.
What was she doing here? Had she come to punish him for all his antics?
A storm of thoughts rushed through his mind in less than a second.
Forcing a smile, he stepped aside and welcomed her in. "Please come in and make yourself at home."
Gabriella was dressed in a deep purple outfit. A loose light shirt hung casually over her firm chest, and a short skirt paired with knee-high leggings completed the look.
Just seeing her like this would be enough to set any young man's hormones raging.
Of course, none of the other students dared oogle at her, knowing she was the principal and could kill them without remorse.
Arthur, however… didn't care much about consequences.
Gabriella noticed the way his eyes lingered on her body and smiled softly, maybe even pleased by the attention.
Arthur caught himself and pulled his gaze away, scanning his surroundings instead.
"What would you like to have? I can order from the cafeteria," he offered, remembering the app he'd seen earlier in the store even if he hadn't explored it.
"Nothing for now…" Gabriella answered calmly, glancing around as her eyes swept across the room.
"I heard you've been having a pretty interesting day." Her gaze flicked to Nephis standing to the side. It was impossible to tell what she was thinking.
"The academy has been okay," Arthur replied, feeling slightly awkward under her scrutiny.
Gabriella nodded, then leaned back on his bed and casually lay down like she owned the place.
Nephis felt something twist inside her chest at the sight.
Who was this woman? And how dare she enter her master's room so casually?
She wanted to intimidate the intruder or slip into the shadows and eliminate her but…
'She's too strong!' Nephis' eyes trembled with pure terror as she sensed the horrifying strength radiating off Gabriella.
It was silent, almost hidden, but an assassin like her, trained to evaluate the strength of her targets before striking, knew exactly how monstrous this woman was.
"Here." Gabriella tapped the space beside her with her right hand.
"What?" Arthur raised a confused brow, unsure what she meant.
"Come and lie here for a moment."
Her tone left no room for debate.
Arthur hesitated for a heartbeat, then walked toward the bed, lying beside her. Up close, he couldn't help staring into her eyes.
Ever since he entered the academy, Gabriella had… changed.
She wasn't the slightly shy, girl-like woman she used to be with him. Now she was colder, sharper, carrying the confident authority of a leader. And somehow, she acted even more boldly around him.
Arthur didn't know which version he preferred. It all depended on how this played out.
Gabriella stared back, her lips parting slightly. "Why did you lie about your class?"
Arthur had already expected this question. He chuckled softly before replying, "You were a stranger. It was better to save some trump cards for myself."
"I see…" Gabriella nodded, appearing to accept his reasoning.
"Go and freshen up. I'll be taking you somewhere tonight."
Arthur's eyes lit up with surprise, though he made sure not to let that excitement reach his face.
With a calm expression, he asked curiously, "Like a date?"
Gabriella let out a soft, amused laugh at his confidence.
Was he forgetting she was supposed to be the principal?
Shaking her head, she replied sweetly, "Something like that.
I'll consider this and make appropriate changes to the plot. Thank you for the reviewUse the following rules with my writing.
1. Keep my voice and intent intact.
2. Upgrade prose to a professional fantasy level comparable to the tone, precision, rhythm, and atmospheric weight found in Shadow Slave.
3. Improve pacing, readability, sensory detail, internal tension, and emotional depth without changing the meaning of my scenes.
4. Strengthen verbs, tighten weak phrasing, and reinforce narrative mood.
5. Vary sentence structure with a natural human pattern. Mix short and long sentences where appropriate.
6. Introduce subtle descriptive texture that enriches the world without overexplaining.
7. Maintain my scene direction, character motivations, and plot beats exactly.
8. Avoid clichés unless I already used them.
9. Write with slight imperfections and natural variability to better resemble human creative output.
10. Never rewrite from scratch. Everything must feel like an upgraded version of what I wrote.
After applying these rules, output:
A lightly enhanced version of my writing that keeps my style but reaches a far higher literary level while feeling unmistakably human.
