Chapter 214: The Emperor's Wife and the Feral Fleet

The Amethyst King looked up, his gaze distant, staring into the far reaches of the temporal space as if recalling something immense and beautiful that was now lost. A slow, deeply satisfied smile returned to his face, erasing the rare moment of seriousness.

"It's quite amusing to remember how I obtained all those skills and talents," the Amethyst King said. "I actually traveled through many parts of the universe, and the women would literally hand them over to me in exchange for a good night of savage sex."

He paused, relishing the look of bewildered shock on Ethan's face.

"Once I founded the Amethyst Kingdom, I stopped having to visit other places," the Amethyst King continued, his voice swelling with arrogance. "Now, they had to come to me. Eventually, they turned it into a full-blown competition: whoever offered the best, most powerful gifts got my glorious manhood first. What good times those were."

I didn't expect that answer at all, Ethan thought. The Amethyst King is truly disturbed by everything he says.

Trying to maintain a semblance of respect for his powerful, lunatic ancestor, Ethan nodded stiffly.

"I understand, sir," Ethan said. "You are truly impressive for achieving all that."

The Amethyst King let out a booming laugh that shook the ethereal chamber.

"I can read your mind like a book, Ethan, and I can tell you that yes, I am quite the narcissist," the Amethyst King said. "But I have every reason to be. You know, this is a universal secret, a legend whispered in fear, but you are my son, so I will tell you this..."

His image glowed with a renewed, ferocious energy, one last display of his incredible power and boundless ego.

"Every sector of the universe has a King," the Amethyst King said, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "The planet you saw in the vision was, so to speak, my capital, but it wasn't the entire kingdom. My domain spanned hundreds of planets under my absolute rule. Innumerable Kings exist, but there is only one Emperor who stands above them all."

The King paused for the dramatic effect, his eyes blazing with victorious malice.

"And I screwed his wife like the glorious tramp she is," the Amethyst King said, letting out a roar of delighted, unhinged laughter. "Hahaha! Do you still think I shouldn't feel powerful? The wife of the Emperor of the Universe couldn't resist being humiliated by me!"

The revelation was too vast, too monumental for Ethan's human mind to grasp. It was like hearing that a man had just swatted the sun.

"I know you don't understand the magnitude of this because you don't yet comprehend what that title signifies," the Amethyst King said, his gaze softening with a paternal, yet still arrogant, fondness. "But someday, when you reach that level and learn who the Emperor of the Universe truly is, you will understand why I am the most impressive being that has ever existed."

The King's phantom body began to visibly thin, the purple light flickering violently, signaling the end of his temporal clone.

"It seems that is all the energy I can spare," the Amethyst King said. He turned his fading form to the Loli. "Train him well, little one. I entrust my lineage to you. Do not fail me."

The Loli avatar burst into tears, her tiny form trembling violently.

"I won't fail you, Master!" the Loli said, her voice choked with genuine sorrow. "I will miss you forever!"

"My disciple will be greater than me, so train him harshly," the Amethyst King said, his voice now a mere whisper on the wind. "I trust you. We will meet again, if fate allows."

The world began to break. The ethereal, fractured ceiling of the temporal chamber cracked and splintered like shattering glass. The sanctuary dissolved into a swirling vortex of colors and sound, assaulting Ethan's senses.

Ethan's world snapped back with brutal, sickening force. He reappeared, dizzy and disoriented, back in the small, filthy confines of his prison cell. The floor seemed to rush up to meet him. He scrambled to his knees, clutching his stomach. He bolted to the toilet and vomited without stopping, again and again, until he was dry-heaving bile from the sheer violence of the temporal displacement.

He collapsed, weakly, his body slick with sweat and residue, leaning against the cold, ceramic basin.

[It appears you couldn't handle a temporal journey. You still have a long way to go, little one.]

The System was subtly mocking him.

Ethan wiped the vomit from his mouth with a shaky hand, his eyes burning with exhaustion but also a new, terrifying knowledge.

"So that was your creator..." Ethan said, speaking weakly to the empty air of his cell. "It's truly impressive, really. With just one of those ships... I could dominate this world."

The System's response was immediate and filled with a cold, almost reverent pride.

[With less. The ships you saw are called Ferals. They are so powerful they can tear space open for instant teleportation, and they fire anti-matter rounds,] the System said.

[The most advanced one in the fleet, the Feral-Prime, is equipped with a dark matter cannon capable of annihilating an entire planet with a single blast,] the System said.

[My Master was a true genius...] the System said, its 'voice' (the text in his mind) briefly softening with a tone of clear nostalgia.

Ethan felt a pang of unexpected sympathy for the sophisticated AI that had just lost its creator.

"I'm sorry," Ethan said. "I know you cared for him deeply, and he truly is impressive."

[You don't have to apologize,] the System replied, its voice returning to its normal, cool efficiency, though the undertone of sadness lingered. [The Master lived his life as he wanted, but he was always too trusting. He believed in his power too much and let his guard down.]

[In that aspect, I like you more,] the System said. [You never trust anyone, not even me. Perhaps that quality will keep you alive someday.]

Ethan sighed, leaning his head back against the cold wall of the cell.

"Yeah," Ethan said. "I hope so. Right now, my head is killing me. I wish nothing would go wrong and I could just sleep all week."
