As she reached the edge of the valley filled to the brim with poisonous plants without any problems due to her now relatively strong poison resistance, Scaly used all of her strength to cut through the last few plants blocking her path before finally leaving the poison valley.
Swish~
Not wasting any time, she rushed forward towards a mountain rabbit that she had spotted recovering just a short distance away from the poison valley after she got out.
Squeak!?
Ptsh-!
[Gained 327 Exp]
In the end, the mountain rabbit that was already in a state of exhaustion after having barely made it through the poison valley, had no way to fight back as it soon died under Scaly's sharp claws. Providing her with a much-needed delicious treat.
Chomp~!
Happily chomping down on the delicious mountain rabbit filled with anticipation, Scaly was somewhat taken aback as the taste seemed to have changed compared to the rest of the mountain rabbits she had eaten so far.
Not in a bad way, it just left a somewhat tingling sensation in her mouth whenever she bit down
Thinking about it, she guessed that it should be because not all the poison that had affected the mountain rabbit had been cleared. Giving it a somewhat spicy taste compared to ordinary mountain rabbits.
At the very least, given her poison resistance, it wouldn't affect her… And considering that it still tasted great, she saw no reason to not continue eating the mountain rabbit, as the spicy mountain rabbit soon disappeared at a speed far faster than normal.
Only after the spicy mountain rabbit had been fully consumed, did Scaly start to take a proper look at her new surroundings. Trying to see if she could spot anymore spicy mountain ra- spot any dangerous monsters that might be lurking around the base of the mountain.
After all, she was no longer on the small mountain that was somewhat detached from the rest of the mountain range, but now found herself on one of the outer mountains of the mountain range.
From the fact that she had seen the drake flying into the mountain range, she understood that the monsters in there should in no way be weak.
Although they might not be as strong as the drake she had seen, they shouldn't be that much weaker.
In turn, she did start to feel a bit worried that she would be forced to undergo her third evolution before leveling up her dragon bloodline if the monsters inside the mountain range were too powerful.
For now, she could only take things a bit slower than usual and try to first discern the strength of the monsters present inside the mountain range before she did something reckless and ended up being targeted by a monster similar in strength to the drake she had seen.
Having come to a decision on how to approach her current situation in a far more cautious and safe manner than she was used to doing, Scaly began to slowly climb her way up the mountain she now found herself at the base of.
Intending to first climb to the peak of the mountain and try to get a better idea of the layout of the fourth floor of the dungeon from up there like she had first intended to do on the smaller mountain before she had left in search of the mountain rabbits that had suddenly disappeared.
Of course, during this climb, she didn't forget her primary objective, as she continued to train her dragon breath skill on the different monsters she encountered along the way up the mountain.
At the very least, so far, the monsters present on the mountain weren't that strong and were at most comparable to the mountain rabbits, with a few being a little bit stronger.
That was… Until she encountered that…
[Mountain Slime, lvl 41]
A giant cube shaped slime that was far larger than any of the monsters she had encountered so far inside of the mountain range. Even the drake seemed a bit smaller than the massive cube shaped slime.
However, on the positive side, the cube shaped slime didn't seem to be aggressive, as it just mindlessly rolled around in a rather odd way considering its shape.
With that in mind, Scaly decided to take the opportunity to inspect it and check its description to see if she could figure out more about the strange slime.
[Description: The revered mountain slime, one of the stranger slimes out there. The mountain slime, as its name indicates, can be found on mountains. Peaceful and doesn't attack others unless attacked, as it would much rather consume rocks, as doing so helps it grow.
Although, mountain slime can become dangerous when they grow large enough, as they tend to consume anything that ends up touching them. The largest recorded having grown to become a cube with a height and width over a thousand meters, causing the destruction of an entire human kingdom, though, there is no recorded limit to the size they can grow and there might be larger mountain slimes out there.]
Reading through the description of the mountain slime in front of her, Scaly could not help showing a somewhat shocked expression on her face as she imagined a cube shaped slime the size of a small mountain.
All of a sudden, the mountain slime in front of her didn't seem to be that large…
More importantly, she had managed to confirm through the description just now that the mountain slime wasn't dangerous. Even being directly described as a peaceful monster, something she hadn't really seen before.
Although… Considering a mountain slime had caused the destruction of an entire human kingdom, she felt a bit doubtful as to how accurate this peaceful description was.
But then again, it might have just accidentally rolled through the human kingdom and destroyed it as an accident.
Given the size of the mountain slime in the description, something like that should have been possible, as she doubted that it would be easy to cause any real harm to a slime of that size. Especially considering that she had personally experienced just how difficult it was to kill a slime back at the second floor of the dungeon.
The only really easy to defeat slime she had encountered was the rock slimes, but the reason for their easy defeat was mainly because she could eat their jelly like body and easily reach their core.
Thinking about it, she never really killed the rock slimes immediately, but instead slowly consumed them before they were left with nothing but their core. Making it easy for her to land the killing blow.
A rather gruesome thing now that she was thinking about it…
Plop~
As the sound of the mountain slime moving could be heard not too far away, Scaly shook her head as she decided to not think about the rock slimes and how she killed them any longer. Instead, she resumed her journey up the mountain while making sure to avoid the mountain slime.
Even though part of her felt tempted to try and see if she could defeat this peaceful monster, she didn't dare to take the risk after considering its size.
Even if she were to use a similar method to the one, she had used to defeat the rock slime, she had a feeling that she would end up full before the mountain slime even noticed her nibbling away at its massive body.
Of course, there was also the chance that the mountain slime tasted terrible or was poisonous like the first slime she had encountered.
Swish~
With that in mind and not wanting to take any unnecessary risks, Scaly passed the mountain slime while giving it a few curious glances…

[Mountain Slime…]
However, as she continued traveling up the mountain, she discovered more and more of the mountain slimes along the way… And when she finally got close to the summit, she had nowhere to pass through, as a large number of mountain slimes completely blocked her path forward.
Considering that she had no way to move past them and they didn't seem intent on moving, as it looked like they were in the process of consuming the summit of the mountain, Scaly decided to not even give it a try, as she turned around for the first time since she had begun her climb to take a look of the fourth floor of the dungeon.
Feeling that she was more than high enough up to get a good look, while at the same time wanting to satiate her curiosity over whether or not there were any monsters hiding in the grassland, she had to travel through to reach the mountain range-
[Mountain Slime, lvl 51]
Unfortunately, what met her the moment she turned around was not the terrain of the fourth floor of the dungeon, but instead a massive mountain slime that had somehow managed to sneak up on her as she was busy looking up at the summit…
