[*Ding* Reached level…]
As she continued cutting through the large number of mountain gnolls one by one with terrifying efficiency without them having anywhere to run from her, it didn't take long before her level began to rapidly increase.
Even though the level of the mountain gnolls present wasn't that high and generally ranged somewhere between 20 and 30, the sheer number of mountain gnolls more than made up for that, as the number of dead mountain gnolls that had fallen to her soon reached over a hundred in a short span of time.
However, as her level reached 10, she suddenly noticed that the experience she gained from most of the mountain gnolls she killed had significantly decreased compared to before.
[Gained 23 Exp]
[Gained 35 Exp]
[Gained…]
Looking at it, it seemed that the experience she gained form most of the mountain gnolls had suddenly decreased by ten times. Making her levelling speed beyond level 10 painfully slow, as only the few mountain gnolls around level 30 seemed to be without any changes in terms of experience she gained from killing them.
In the end, after close to half an hour of running rampant inside the valley killing any mountain gnoll she encountered, Scaly finally managed to kill all of them.
However, because of the sudden decrease in experience following her level reaching 10, her current level was far from what she had expected after she killed close to a thousand mountain gnolls. Only barely reaching level 12.
Of course, even though it was far from the level she imagined that she would reach, she wasn't too dissatisfied about the situation, as she had essentially managed to rapidly increase her strength without any real problems along the way.
At the same time, she had also managed to find out that just killing weaker monsters wouldn't be that helpful when it came to increasing her level any longer…
Name: Scaly
Race: Young Tempest Dragon
Dragon blood: 15% (Common)
Level: 12/30, 7%
STR: 412 |VIT: 685 | DEX: 384 | M: 937
Magic: [Dragon Water Magic, lvl 4], [Ice Magic lvl 1], [Wind Magic, lvl 1], [Lightning Magic, lvl 1],
Skills: [Dragon Bloodline, lvl 4], [Dragon Flight, lvl 3], [Poison Resistance, lvl 3], [Dragon Claw Strike, lvl 6], [Dragon Breath (Water), lvl 3], [Corrosion Resistance, lvl 2], [Pain Resistance, lvl 2], [Swimming, lvl 2]
Taking the time to look over her status as she sat down to recover her strength, Scaly instantly noticed that outside of her magic now being close to reaching a thousand, her dragon water magic and dragon claw strike had both managed to level up this time around.
Considering that her main way of killing the mountain gnolls was to either use the water blades conjured through her water dragon magic or her claws, it wasn't that surprising, but she was still happy to see that they had leveled up, as it meant that her strength had once again increased.
Of course, the fact that her magic was now close to reaching a thousand also caught her attention, but it was still a bit off from reaching a thousand, so she didn't think too much about.
Even if a change would take place like it had back when her magic or other stats had broken through to a hundred, she didn't think too much about it, as she believed it to be something similar that would just increase her strength like it had done back then.
Only in the future would she know how wrong this thought was, but for the current Scaly, her main concern was how she would get out of the valley without being killed by the heavenly lake serpents and mountain gnolls who were still locked in battle outside.
Although she had focused most of her attention on hunting down and killing the mountain gnolls inside the valley, it didn't mean that she wasn't paying any attention to the fight that was taking place outside, as she understood full well that the only reason she could hunt down the weaker mountain gnolls inside the valley was because the heavenly lake serpents were keeping the mountain gnolls occupied outside the valley.
Among these heavenly lake serpents, the one she had to thank the most was the one who had been trying to dig its way inside the valley by enlarging the tunnel over the past half hour, as it had essentially made it impossible for the mountain gnolls outside to see what was happening inside the valley.
Unfortunately, the tunnel was the only way out of the valley.
Meaning that she was currently stuck inside the valley without any way out… And considering that she didn't want to feel the wrath of the mountain gnolls when they found out what she had been up to while they were clashing with the heavenly lake serpents, Scaly had already begun to climb her way up one of the smaller mountains devoid of any life where she could hide herself and look for an opportunity to escape the valley.
Of course, with the tunnel being blocked by one of the heavenly lake serpents, her main escape path had changed, and she was now instead pinning her hopes on the heavenly lake serpents still working away at the invisible wall that protected the valley from anyone climbing over the small mountains.
The main reason for this being that the small cracks at the beginning had already spread all around the small mountains and currently, the sky above her was covered with countless cracks, as the invisible wall looked like it was on the brink of breaking at any moment at this point in time.
When it broke, she intended to escape up the small, isolated mountain she was now hiding on top of and disappear before the heavenly lake serpents or mountain gnolls noticed her… Well… The heavenly lake serpents should have noticed her but didn't care about her slaughtering their enemy.
At least before the mountain gnolls discovered her and what she did to the weaker mountain gnolls that had been left inside the valley…
CRAAAACK-!
Just at this moment, a loud cracking sound echoed out across the entire valley, as Scaly turned to look up into the sky where she saw the countless cracks that covered it suddenly falling apart before disappearing soundlessly. Leaving behind a clear sky without any cracks in it.
ROOOOAR-!
Before Scaly had the time to realize what was happening, a loud roaring sound echoed out, as she suddenly turned to watch a few of the heavenly lake serpents on a small mountain not too far away rush into the valley.
The… The invisible wall is gone!
Realizing what had just happened, Scaly was at first overjoyed before she realized that she didn't have any time to waste, as she rushed up the side of the small mountain, she was hiding on towards the peak that she hoped to climb over and leave the valley.
Understanding that it wouldn't be long before the mountain gnolls realized that heavenly lake serpents had broken the invisible wall and came rushing to try and save the already dead weaker mountain gnolls-
GROOOOWL-!
And as if to confirm her thoughts, a loud growling sound soon echoed out across the valley, as the familiar looking mountain gnoll grand teacher appeared in front of the heavenly lake serpents to block. Not even glancing down at the decision inside the valley, as his full attention was focused on the heavenly lake serpents at the moment.
Time to get out of here…
Not hesitating in the slightest as she noticed the appearance of this powerful mountain gnoll, Scaly scaled the last bit of the mountain before she began almost rolling down the side of the small mountain like she had done in the past. Wanting nothing more than to get as far away from the valley and battlefield between the heavenly lake serpents and the mountain gnolls as fast as possible.
Luckily for her, even though the mountain gnoll grand teacher had entered the valley to protect the weaker mountain gnolls, he was far too preoccupied with the heavenly lake serpents to notice that the people he was protecting were already dead.
GROOOOOOOOOOOWL-!
Only when she managed to successfully make it back to the safety of the forest did Scaly hear a terrifying loud growl filled with grief, anger and an even more terrifying killing intent.
Even without being at the scene of the growl, Scaly understood that the mountain gnoll grand teacher had finally discovered that the mountain gnolls he had protecting were already dead… And from the sounds of increasingly intense battle taking place behind her, it looked like it suspected the ones behind their deaths to be the heavenly lake serpents.
If it thought otherwise and had discovered traces of her, she didn't doubt that it would have already come chasing after her. Luckily once again, this didn't happen, and she could safely retreat to somewhere further away and observe the battle from afar and see if she might be able to take advantage of the situation as the battle became more desperate.
Not intending to give up in case she saw an oppertunity to kill a weakened mountain gnoll or heavenly lake serpent...
