Reincarnated as a Lizard

Chapter 303: Thousand Spire Mountain Range (2)

Unaware of how disturbing her sudden appearance had been to one of the adventurers who had ended up noticing her when she had flown by. Reaching the point where the other party was already thinking about how an S Rank Monster might have emerged from the dungeon that had been breached in the Great Sky Kingdom, Scaly herself found her journey to the mountains in the distance, that turned out to be a mountain range called the Thousand Spire Mountain Range, relaxing and without any interruptions along the way. The flying monsters that might have normally attempted to harass an unknown monster like her, having been scared off by her terrifying presence alone. Allowing her to freely move through the normally contested airspace above the forest.

By the time she got to the Thousand Spire Mountain Range, her mana had mostly been exhausted, while her physical strength was… Barely enough for her to walk around. Flying again had essentially become an impossible task the second she landed at the base of one of the smaller mountains, as her wings were by far the most exhausted part of her body.

Not just because she had been using them to escape from the city where the terrifying adventurer had emerged, but also because of just how much she had been using them during her hunt for weakened monster on the chaotic battlefield of said city. Having constantly ascended and descended in quick succession… And while it wasn't too difficult to accomplish something like that with her current strength, doing it repeatedly followed by a quick escape had left her wings rather sore.

In terms of fighting strength, she had no way to deal with anything like the magic earth cow lord but should be able to deal with a normal magic earth cow.

Of course, this didn't really matter much, as she had already circled the small mountain before landing. Finding out that the overall strength of the monsters and animals that resided on the mountain wasn't anywhere beyond the monsters found on the first and second floor of the dungeon. Hardly a challenge to her even in her current exhausted state. Making it an ideal place for her to sleep and recover her strength.

Even more so because the mountain itself had several small and large caves that she would be able to use for sleeping dotted all over it. Making the mountain itself appear somewhat comical from afar due to the large number of caves all over it.

Shaking her head a bit as she thought about it, Scaly didn't linger around too long after landing before making her way towards a small cave she had picked out for herself to sleep in before she landed. Soon enough stepping inside the small cave. Finding it just barely large enough to fit her after she collapsed part of the entrance to close it off to any curious monsters who might have some ideas about attacking her while she was sleeping.

Rustle~

Slowly wiggling herself into a comfortable position, Scaly decided to take this opportunity before going to sleep to check her status and see what had improved since her hunt for weakened monster around the chaotic battlefield…

Name: Scaly

Race: Dreamscale Dragon

Dragon blood: 31% (Uncommon)

Level: 23/40, 17%

Mana Heart: Second Circle

STR: 887 |VIT: 2097 | DEX: 1189 | M: 3542

Magic: [Dragon Water Magic, lvl 8], [Ice Magic lvl 1], [Wind Magic, lvl 7], [Lightning Magic, lvl 3], [Dream Magic lvl 2]

Skills: [Dragon Bloodline, lvl 4], [Dragon Flight, lvl 8], [Poison Resistance, lvl 4], [Dragon Claw Strike, lvl 9], [Dragon Breath (Water), lvl 6], [Corrosion Resistance, lvl 3], [Pain Resistance, lvl 5], [Swimming, lvl 4], [Dragon Heart, lvl 1], [Endless Vitality, lvl 1], [Agility, lvl 1]

Looking through it, her magic had indeed increased a lot, like she had expected it to with how much her level had increased. Unsurprisingly, her water magic had not increased in level because of how little she had used it, but her dragon breath had surprisingly leveled up again after she had only used it once. Making her think that while those humans from the Holy Flower Sect did seem to be getting in her way repeatedly, they did at least seem to help her dragon breath skill rapidly increase in level.

Outside of that, her wind magic and dragon flight skill had increased, which was to be expected with how much she had flown and at the same time also used her wind magic, but… Outside of these two, her dragon claw strike had also managed to level up. Reaching level 9, becoming her highest level skill.

Surprising as this was, it did indeed seem like she had been using her claws for fighting far more than she had been using her magic recently.

Although, she couldn't really do much about this, as she had essentially dedicated all her mana towards her dragon breath attack lately and had little mana leftover for fighting after using that skill to its full potential.

In the end, she didn't really worry too much about her strongest skill being a physical based one even though she was supposedly a magic oriented dragon. After all, she would always be able to train her magic in the future, while her melee skills seemed to require direct combat. Making them more difficult to level up out of combat.

Speaking of which, her dream magic remained a complete mystery to her, as she still hadn't figured out how to use it, let alone how to travel between the material plane and the dreamscape.

After waking up, outside of getting something to fill her stomach and getting a better idea of where she had ended up now that she had officially left the Howling Caverns Dungeon that had been her home since her time as a small dungeon lizard, she also needed to try and figure out how to use her dream magic.

After all, dream magic was the main benefit of her current evolution and if she couldn't even figure out how to use it, that would be rather embarrassing. Especially if she ended up going through with her next evolution before even learning anything about what should be one of her trump cards for escaping potentially deadly situations.

Even if she didn't say anything about it, she also understood that if she had learnt how to travel to the dreamscape, her earlier desperate escape from the terrifying adventurer would have been far less stressful, as she would have just been able to hop away into the safety of the dreamscape. Leaving that terrifying adventurer with no target to chase.

This kind of overpowered escape ability, she really wanted, as it would allow her to act in a far more unhin- a far riskier manner. Allowing her to take risks that she might normally avoid due to the danger involved.

One of these dangerous risks that she felt like she would have to undertake in the future being entering a city with a dungeon inside it. After all, though she hadn't learnt much about the world outside the Howling Caverns Dungeon from adventurers, one thing that had become clear to her was the fact that it was far harder to find monsters outside dungeons and the monsters found were generally on the weaker side.

This fact had already been confirmed during her escape and short examination of the monsters in the forest and the mountain range where she was now hiding away.

If she wanted to continue increasing her strength, she would most likely have to venture into another dungeon at some point… And when that time came, she would like to be able to escape through her dream magic in case something ended up going wrong.

As… Annoyingly enough, the cities centered around dungeons always seemed to have the dungeon itself located at the very core of the city. Surrounded by what she guessed to be high level adventurers, something that had still been somewhat discernable to her even in the somewhat ruined state that Howling Cave City had been in when she had first laid eyes on it.

But that is all for the future! For now… Sleepy time~

Closing her eyes as she thought this to herself while allowing her thoughts to drift, Scaly decided not to think too much more about the future as she slowly found herself drifting into a deep sleep.

Considering how much strength she had exhausted, along with how little mana was still left inside her body after the extensive use of wind magic during her escape from Howling Cave City, it wouldn't be that surprising for her sleep this time to last a little longer than expected.

This was also something Scaly had already considered and the main reason she wanted to find somewhere safe to sleep that would at least remain undiscovered for a few days while she remained deep asleep recovering her strength.

The problem was… Scaly wasn't exactly good at choosing a quiet place to sleep…
