Finding what looked like an abandoned nest beneath a tree not too far away from where she had fought the rabbits, Scaly wasted no time as she dragged her body down into the abandoned nest, while doing what little she could to obscure the entrance and block part of it with some loose dirt to hopefully prevent any monster attracted by the early battle from finding her.
After all, even if she had been putting on a strong front in the face of the rabbits that had escaped from her not too long ago, she had already exhausted all of her strength and would have had no way to continue fighting back if any new monsters appeared to attack her.
Thump~!
With this in mind, Scaly plopped down on the ground before her vision went dark. Her body giving up on trying to keep her awake, as she was forced into a deep sleep to recover from the earlier battle.
Even if she had managed to find a space to recover her strength, she also understood that the few things she had done to hide the place would be easily seen through if any of the rabbits returned to search for her after discovering that she didn't chase after them.
For this reason alone, she wanted nothing more than to recover her strength as fast as possible. Not just to ensure her own safety, but also to hunt down the rabbits that had landed her in her current weak state if they didn't come looking for her…
Rustle~
As Scaly drifted off into dreamland while her body began the process of recovering, a smaller than average gnoll appeared on the battlefield covered in corpse of rabbits that had been killed by her not too long ago.
Growl? Growl!
Looking around at the rabbit corpse, this gnoll first cautiously examined the surroundings before letting out a joyful growling sound. Wasting no time in grabbing one of the smaller rabbit corpses before carrying it off into the distance…
Growl!
Grooowl~!
Not even a few minutes later, the entire battlefield was swarmed by a large number of gnolls that all began to carry off the corpse of the rabbits with happy expressions plastered all over their ferocious looking faces, while the smaller than average gnoll from earlier watched everything with a proud expression on its face.
Squeak?!
By the time that the first of the big forest rabbits that had managed to escape returned together with a much larger rabbit, it managed to witness the group of gnolls carrying off the last few dead bodies of its companions.
Squeak!
Seeing this as well, the much larger rabbit narrowed both its eyes as it seemed to communicate something to the big forest rabbit before turning around to head back the way that the two had come from.
Squeak…
In response to the larger rabbit, the big forest rabbit let out a somewhat reluctant squeaking sound as it remained hidden not too far away from the group of gnolls while also keeping a certain distance to avoid being discovered by their strong sense of smell… And when the group of gnolls began to leave the battlefield with the last few bodies, it silently followed them from behind.
…
Waking up after an unknown period of time had passed, Scaly was completely unaware of what had taken place not too far away from her as she lazily stretched her body and examined her situation.
Outside of the fact that she felt rather hungry at the moment, there weren't any problems.
Ah! I should check my status now that I have time. Maybe I will figure out what the weird increase in strength I experienced earlier came from.
Suddenly remembering the weird situation where the strength of her body had suddenly increased far beyond what should have been possible with a single level up, Scaly turned her attention towards her status filled with anticipation.
Name: Scaly
Race: Ancient Water Dragon Lizard
Level: 4/30, 2%
STR: 56 |VIT: 105 | DEX: 41 | M: 98
Skills: [Dragon Bloodline lvl 3], [Flight lvl 1], [Water Magic lvl 7], [Poison Resistance lvl 2], [Claw Strike lvl 2]
However, different from what she had expected, there wasn't any significant change in her status. No new skill and her stats had increased at a normal pace. Nothing could explain the sudden increased toughness and durability of her body.
If it doesn't have anything to do with a new skill, could it perhaps be related to my vitality reaching one hundred?
Trying to understand what had happened without any clues to follow, Scaly could only turn her attention towards the vitality stat representing the strength of her body that should have broken through to a hundred when she reached level 3.
Unfortunately, no matter how much she tried to figure out what had happened, she couldn't really come to any solid conclusion and could only guess.
For now, her best choice was to keep an eye on her magic the next time she leveled up, as her magic would surpass a hundred at that time.
If something really did happen when that took place, she could conclude that her strength would gain a massive boost when she reached a hundred in one of the four.
Rumble~
Feeling her stomach starting to protest due to the lack of food, Scaly turned her attention away from her status and began to slowly make her way out of the abandoned underground nest that she had hidden away inside of.
Feeling a bit cautious as she had no idea what kind of monster might be attracted by the dozens of dead rabbit bodies. Not intending to take a chance of possibly having to face a monster at the same level as the gnoll chieftain by recklessly rushing out.
Huh? Nothing? They… They are gone!? My food!
However, after leaving her hiding spot, Scaly was shocked to discover that there wasn't a single monster around and all the bodies of the rabbits she had killed had been eaten or taken away!
Not even leaving scraps behind for her to eat!
