Ethan didn't even have the chance to set up his skill set before he had to leave his inn room and head to LionArk's headquarters.
Ashley had finished her work—probably one of the reasons she'd asked Ethan to come.
Ethan didn't mind going there and meeting her at all. After all, she had experience in skill set class advancement, just like him.
They could exchange ideas and advice, which would definitely help him.
He walked out of the inn alone. The distance to LionArk's headquarters wasn't far—only about fifteen minutes on foot.
Even from a distance, Ethan could already see the grandeur of the building, with guild members constantly coming and going.
Not long after, he arrived in front of the headquarters.
Before he could enter, a few guild members blocked his way, their faces full of suspicion and hostility.
"You! What the hell are you doing here?!" one man shouted.
"Me? I came to see Ashley."
"Call her Miss Ashley! Her position is way higher than a damn criminal like you."
Ethan sighed. He had been through this kind of thing many times, but no matter what he said, they never believed him.
My PK status… they really despise it.
"Leave before I kill you, bastard!" another one yelled.
The commotion at the front entrance drew more guild members. What started as two people blocking Ethan turned into dozens surrounding him.
None of them liked seeing him there again. To them, a respectable place like LionArk had no need for a filthy criminal like Ethan.
The loud noise in the middle of the night attracted even more people, including some guild officers.
Ethan narrowed his eyes—he had no other choice but to fight back.
Without summoning Bloodblade Ashura, he unleashed a terrifying red aura around himself.
Everyone shuddered and instinctively stepped back, keeping their distance.
"If you want to stop me, then come and fight me!" Ethan said firmly.
"Attack him!" one of the officers ordered.
That command was enough to make the guild members charge at him with their weapons drawn.
Ethan moved swiftly, using his martial arts skills to fight them bare-handed. His punches and kicks were more than enough to send several of them crashing to the ground, helpless.
PUNCH!
He hit, kicked, and slammed bodies one after another. Their HP dropped sharply with every blow.
The guild officer stood there in shock. Even without his sword, Ethan's combat ability was far beyond any of the guild members.
Not one of their attacks managed to land on him—it was as if his aura itself repelled every strike.
Seeing so many members injured made the officer furious. His anger burned when he realized no one in LionArk could defeat Ethan, who was fighting with his bare hands.
He jumped forward, standing a few meters away from Ethan. Ethan tensed, stepping back with his eyes locked on the man who dared to challenge him.
"The guild members can't beat you," the man said, "But I can."
"Oh? You think you can kill me?" Ethan asked.
The man drew his longsword, its blade a brownish hue—clearly an earth element weapon. Ethan reacted instantly, summoning his Bloodblade Ashura.
"I can defeat you easily!" the officer growled.
Just as they were about to clash, a magic rune appeared in the air above the LionArk headquarters.
Both of them looked up. In seconds, the rune released a wave of magical pressure so strong that it paralyzed them.
The officer dropped to his knees, while Ethan only lowered his head slightly—his strength was enough to resist the magic's crushing force.
"Didn't I tell you that Ethan is my friend?!" Ashley's clear, commanding voice echoed.
Everyone turned toward the guild entrance, seeing Ashley step out of the building with Jill beside her. Ethan turned his head, and the officer did too.
With a graceful motion of her hand, Ashley dispelled the magic, freeing both Ethan and the officer.
Ethan was panting from the pressure's effect, but the officer coughed up blood—his body unable to handle Ashley's power.
Ethan glanced at him, seeing the blood spill from his mouth.
Ashley's magic can make him vomit blood… just how strong is she now?
Ashley smiled at Ethan, walking elegantly toward him and extending her hand. She invited him inside the LionArk headquarters.
Ethan accepted, though he could still feel the hateful glares of the guild members.
But Ashley's order was absolute—none of them were allowed to harm or intimidate Ethan.
They walked inside together. Instead of heading to Ashley's office on the fifth floor, they went to the training grounds behind the building.
"I'm sorry for their rude behavior, Ethan," Ashley said.
Ethan cleared his throat. He didn't take it personally—they didn't know who he truly was.
He had almost lost control and attacked them all, but Ashley's timely arrival had prevented a disaster.
"It's fine. I'm used to players acting that way."
Ashley sympathized but knew there wasn't much she could do.
The path Ethan walked was dangerous—she understood that and couldn't lecture him about it.
When they reached the back field, Ethan saw no one there. Most members preferred relaxing over training to improve their skills.
"So, are you ready to start?" Ashley asked. Ethan nodded.
He opened his skill system panel for both Ashura and Tempest modes. Ashley, curious, stepped closer to see.
It was her first time seeing a class capable of using two completely different modes.
If Ethan could master them, she was sure his power would become overwhelming.
He replaced Iron Fang Thrust with Ashura Rift, while Bloodflare Cataclysm took the fourth slot in the Ashura mode skill set.
[Skill successfully changed]
[Skill 2: Iron Fang Thrust → Ashura Rift]
[Skill successfully added]
[Skill 4: Bloodflare Cataclysm]
Ashley nodded with a smile. She didn't know the full extent of Ethan's skills, but from what she saw, she could already tell his power would be terrifying.
Once the Ashura setup was done, Ethan swiped the panel to switch to Tempest mode. He cleared the previous skills and replaced them all with the Tempest skills.
[Skill successfully added:]
[Skill 1: Gale Rend] [Skill 2: Tempest Resonance] [Skill 3: Lightning Veil] [Skill 4: Stormbreaker]
"That's all," Ethan said. Ashley nodded.
She stepped back, keeping a safe distance. Then she opened the guild menu and activated the training feature.
In this mode, guild members could practice their skills—either against training dummies or other players.
One benefit of guild training was that HP and MP weren't affected, even when sparring against real players.
[AshleyLeon12 invites you to train]
[Accept?] [Y/N]
"So? Do you want to train with me?" Ashley asked.
"Of course. I'm not afraid."
Ethan selected [Yes] on the guild training invite. The walls around the field rose high, enclosing the area to prevent damage from their practice.
He drew his Bloodblade Ashura and held it with one hand. A crimson aura flared around him, its intensity far greater than before.
Is this the effect of the Omniblade Class?
Not only did his aura change, but his appearance too. His plain black hair turned into a dark maroon red, and a glowing red light burned in his eyes.
Ashley saw it and smiled with satisfaction. It had been a long time since she last sparred with someone.
She usually trained alone against practice dummies—but with Ethan here, she could finally test herself again.
"Come at me, Ethan! Don't hold back!" she challenged.
"Of course. I'll finish this training quickly."
