Chapter 206: Restoring the Glory and Honor of LionArk

Right after finishing in Darcy's office, Ethan walked away from the second floor and headed back up to the third floor, straight to his own office.

Nath turned to look at Darcy, confused by the strong ambition Ethan showed. Tracking and reclaiming LionArk's assets from people who had already left the guild was extremely difficult, even close to impossible.

That was because it involved diplomacy between guilds.

"Can Sir Ethan really do it?" Nath asked.

"Never doubt him, Nath. He's crazy enough to pull it off."

"No guild will dare challenge Ethan right now. I'm sure the Big Three are thinking about that too," Darcy replied.

"You're right, Officer Darcy. He took Mavelard by himself through an invasion, something people said was impossible."

"But he pushed through that impossibility and proved to everyone that he and LionArk can't be underestimated," Nath explained.

With the data he received from Darcy and Nath, he could start working to track their locations.

There were 632 people that needed to be hunted down and put on trial, and the total loss LionArk suffered because of them reached 11,290,000 gold.

If Ethan could gather every one of them, LionArk would gain a significant amount back.

Arriving in his office, Ethan immediately activated the token and read the list carefully. He was surprised by all of them, scattered across many different guilds.

Ethan filtered them by guild, and when he succeeded, he saw that many of them had joined the Big Three.

There were 120 people in Redemption Sword, 187 in Scavenger, and 255 in Silver Star. The remaining 70 were spread among other rank A guilds, quite a large number.

So there was no doubt they joined LionArk because they wanted to weaken the guild from the inside.

It was proven by how many of them ended up in the Big Three, with most joining Silver Star.

It would take Ethan a long time to recover all of LionArk's valuable assets. But his main target was Silver Star because they held the largest number of suspects.

If they could do it in Silver Star, the other guilds might do the same.

Going to the Silver Star Headquarters City and causing trouble would draw a lot of attention.

Ethan walked to his desk and began working on an official letter. The letter asked for cooperation from Silver Star, requesting that Silver Star seize the stolen LionArk assets from those members.

Not only the letter, Ethan also attached the names of all suspects who joined Silver Star, along with the amounts they stole and their involvement in the crimes.

He needed many pages to attach all the suspects. Ethan finished everything in less than an hour. He stored all of it neatly in a folder, ready to be sent to Silver Star's Headquarters City.

Just as Ethan was handling the matter of those assets, he was startled by a knock on his office door. When he checked who it was, he found Ashley.

Ethan hurriedly deactivated the token and stored the letter meant for Silver Star. Once everything was safe, he stepped forward and opened the door.

"Hello, Ethan," Ashley greeted.

"Hello, Ashley. How's your work going?" Ethan asked.

"Good. I came to tell you that the cash aid for Porco will be sent tomorrow. Some LionArk members will be assigned to escort the carriage," Ashley replied.

"That's good. At least they can start repairing their city," Ethan answered.

"Is there anything else I can help you with, Ethan?"

I can't ask her for help with this. She will feel guilty.

I should handle this problem myself.

"There's nothing. I'll tell you if I need anything."

"All right."

After speaking with Ethan, Ashley and Jill went downstairs to relax in the cafeteria. But not Ethan.

After writing the letter for Silver Star, he planned to write letters for Redemption Sword and Scavenger as well.

The goal was simple: to ask the suspects to return the money without disturbing each guild's peace.

Ethan spent his entire day writing many letters. After finishing with the Big Three, he wrote more letters for the other guilds.

He completed all of his work by 10 p.m. Ashley had already gone to her room to rest. Before sleeping, she came to Ethan's office to check on him.

He was fine. He just had a lot of work to finish, so he would be going to bed late that night.

That night, Ethan left all his letters on his desk. The reception staff were already off duty, so he would send the letters tomorrow when they returned to work.

In the quiet of the night, Ethan heard another knock on his office door. At first he thought it was Ashley, but when he opened the door, it was Sherly.

She had come in her pajamas, wanting to check Ethan's situation. From his tired face, Sherly could tell he seemed overwhelmed today.

"W-What happened?" Sherly asked.

"I'm writing a lot of letters."

"Letters?"

"Come in," Ethan said, and Sherly agreed.

Sherly stepped inside and clearly saw the many letters piled up on the desk like stacks of documents. She was shocked, not knowing why Ethan was writing so many letters.

"Since you're my aide, there's no harm in explaining this to you."

Ethan explained the reason behind all the letters. He started from Hanss and continued to Darcy, and Sherly listened carefully.

Her expression changed when she realized Ethan was doing something huge. Yes. He was investigating a massive corruption case involving many people, both active members and those who had already left.

"You're going after them all the way to the Big Three?" Sherly asked.

"I'm going to try to make them cooperate. If they refuse, then I won't hesitate to invade their city."

"I destroyed Mavelard. Of course I can destroy their cities too," Ethan said firmly.

"But that's really risky. What if you get killed or something?" Sherly asked.

"I won't die, because I know exactly what I'm capable of."

"But I hope they're willing to listen, so a conflict doesn't have to happen."

Sherly nodded. At times, she felt sympathy and pity for Ethan because he had to do so many things that should have been Ashley's responsibilities, like taking Mavelard, settling the conflict in Porco, arranging land leases, and now dealing with LionArk's massive corruption case.

But Sherly understood Ashley was different from Ethan. Ashley was weaker and didn't have much influence because she had never faced the Big Three directly.

Ethan was different. The Mavelard invasion clearly proved he wasn't someone to underestimate.

"Let me help you even if I know it'll kill me!"

Ethan smiled happily at Sherly's attitude. "That's the true spirit of my aide."
