They didn't know what Ethan's real face looked like, but some of them knew the username EthanAsh666, especially the veterans in the guild.
Gordon was without a doubt Ashley's friend. He was the man behind the username MagisterDao, the one who once led LionArk to its golden age.
When he said EthanArk was EthanAsh666, many of them believed him right away.
"So… we were in the same guild as a legend this whole time?" a few people asked.
"This is huge. Everyone has to know about this," someone else replied.
They were still shocked by Gordon's words, but they had a duty to tell everyone about EthanArk's real identity. Gordon's arrival at LionArk's base clearly didn't bring any advantage to Ethan.
Ethan and Ashley couldn't stop everyone. Since the truth was already out, Ethan wouldn't bother trying to prevent it.
"What's your reason for coming here?"
"Redemption Sword received your letter. We came to ask for proof of our members' involvement," Gordon replied.
The man in front of him answered with a faint smile. Ashley still didn't understand what Gordon was talking about with Ethan. She didn't even know what letter Ethan had sent to them.
"What letter did you send them?" Ashley asked quietly.
"Just clarification and cooperation," Ethan answered briefly.
He told Sherly to go back to his office and bring the files related to the suspects who were now Redemption Sword members.
Sherly knew those files, so she hurried off, leaving the front yard to head back up to the third floor.
While waiting, Ethan asked about Rick. Gordon assured him that Rick was fine, and the Guild Master of Redemption Sword treated the former LionArk member well.
But he also wanted to keep a good relationship with LionArk. Right after he received Ethan's letter, he ordered Gordon to go to Mavelard to confirm whether the issue was true.
Ashley was still confused. Ethan and Gordon sounded like they were talking about something she didn't know. She kept asking Ethan again and again, but he didn't want to answer her yet.
Sherly returned with a stack of files in her hands. She stood beside Ethan and handed them to him.
After confirming they were indeed the files related to the Redemption Sword suspects, Ethan stepped forward and passed them to Gordon.
They were both still standing on the paving blocks in the front yard. Ethan waited while Gordon read through them. Gordon opened page after page, matching the corruption cases with what he knew.
Ethan had written the report carefully and in detail, without vague sentences and without shortening any explanations.
Gordon nodded several times, realizing the files were more than enough to convince him.
But the final check would be done when Gordon questioned the suspects with the truth spell. No one could escape a truth spell.
"Nothing looks suspicious. I'll accept these files," Gordon said.
"I'll take my leave," he added without many words.
The man in front of Ethan turned around and walked toward the front gate of LionArk.
Right before Gordon left, Ethan called out his name. Besides Ashley, Ethan was closer to Gordon than to Rick.
Gordon turned and looked at Ethan when he heard his name. "What is it, Ethan?"
"Take care of yourself, Gordon."
The man smiled lightly, nodded, and looked at Ethan. Without saying more, he walked away from LionArk's base.
Ethan told everyone to start dispersing and go back to their work. At that moment, Ashley suddenly released an overwhelming surge of magic power, shocking Ethan.
"Ashley?!" Ethan gasped.
A burst of power exploded, and magic runes appeared above Ethan's body, drawing everyone's attention. It was rare to see a fight involving Ashley and Ethan.
Ethan reacted fast. He reached out and summoned Bloodblade Ashura. Holding the sword, his body transformed.
His eyes glowed red, red tattoos appeared on his hands and face, and a surge of power burst out of him.
[Mode Ashura Activated]
Ashley's magic rune summoned golden chains from the sky, clearly meant to restrain Ethan. Ethan reacted instantly, swinging his sword to destroy the golden chains.
"Ashley! What is this supposed to mean?!" Ethan shouted.
"You keep dodging my questions. What's really going on?!" Ashley demanded.
Ethan clicked his tongue. He kept breaking the golden chains while checking the area around him. Many people were watching their fight.
If he told Ashley everything right now, everyone would understand how bad her leadership had been all this time.
He had no choice. Ethan needed to knock her out and talk somewhere quiet.
With a lightning-fast movement, Ethan dodged Ashley's rune attacks and rushed like a red flash, avoiding the golden chains.
Ashley grew overwhelmed. Her power couldn't hold back Ethan's strength and speed.
"I'll talk to you later," Ethan said.
The woman froze, shocked. Ethan's voice came from behind her. He had moved so fast he was already completely behind her.
With a strike from the handle of his sword, Ethan hit Ashley's neck hard enough to knock her out. Her staff slipped from her hand, and all her magic disappeared.
The fight ended with no one dead. Everyone became even more convinced that EthanArk was the legendary EthanAsh666, the man who once brought LionArk to its peak.
Fighting Ashley, who was over level 90, didn't trouble Ethan at all. He could beat her easily without threatening her life.
Ethan stored Bloodblade Ashura, crouched down, and picked up Ashley in his arms. When he stepped inside LionArk's base, everyone acted stiff and went back to work as if they didn't care about him.
But they all wanted to know him, get close to him, and talk to EthanArk. Only Sherly had many chances to do that.
On the third floor, Ethan opened Ashley's room and laid her on the bed. He waited there for three hours, delaying his meeting with Twin Sun just so he could explain what really happened between him and Redemption Sword.
Ashley woke up with pain in her neck. Her eyes saw Ethan sitting cross-legged on the sofa, waiting while drinking wine.
"Ethan?" she called.
Ethan looked up and smiled when he saw she was awake. He immediately asked about her condition. Ashley said she was fine.
"About earlier… I'm sorry, Ethan. I shouldn't have forced you to talk. Maybe you think that information is too important, so neither I nor everyone else needs to know it," Ashley said.
The man shook his head. Since Gordon had come and revealed Ethan's identity, there was no reason to pretend anymore.
"The files I gave Gordon were the files of the major corruption case involving former LionArk members who left and joined Redemption Sword," Ethan explained.
"A major corruption case?" Ashley asked in shock.
"Darcy once suggested investigating it. Do you remember?"
Ashley paused for a moment, then nodded. Her expression turned shocked, her mouth slightly open as she understood what it meant.
"T-That means you—"
"Yeah. I'm trying to catch them and seize the assets they stole. All of this is for LionArk."
