Sera manifested a sword of golden light in her hand, while Luna continued to grip her trident spear.
The two clashed against each other, causing waves of energy to explode and spread throughout the entire area.
Ashley tried to evade the chaos and move farther away. Sera realized that their battle would bring Mavelard to ruin if it continued here.
Fighting Luna while also protecting the city would be extremely difficult for her.
After drawing Luna's attention, Sera flew away from Mavelard toward the west. That was the only suitable place for a large scale battle, far from civilians and without disturbing anyone.
When Luna left the city, the traces of power she had left behind slowly faded.
With Ashley's purification magic, the freezing ice that had engulfed the entire headquarters began to melt, and the people were freed.
Even so, their HP had already been reduced while they were trapped in the frozen state. Hanss looked around and noticed damage in several areas, and panic spread among the people.
Ashley saw their expressions. She spoke loudly, trying to calm them down, telling everyone that everything was under control.
"Where is Sir Ethan?" Hanss asked.
"About that…"
Ethan suddenly leaped out from the rubble of a building, landing on the rooftop of a structure right in front of LionArk headquarters. He stood there, half injured, instantly drawing everyone's attention.
Ashley looked panicked when she saw several parts of Ethan's face wounded and bleeding. However, his expression showed no sign of pain. Ethan looked firm and serious.
"Ethan?" Ashley called out.
"Ashley."
"Call all the mages in the city. Tell them to work together and activate the protective magic dome," Ethan said.
"I will handle this matter myself."
Ashley nodded. In the next moment, Ethan leaped away toward the west, where massive energy explosions could already be felt.
Ethan was certain that Sera and Luna were fighting fiercely there. If two goddesses continued to clash, it was not only Mavelard that would be destroyed, but possibly the entire eastern plains as well.
If he did not resolve this soon, the damage would only grow worse.
He jumped from rooftop to rooftop, his gaze fixed firmly toward the west.
Many city residents witnessed Ethan's departure, moving swiftly like an assassin wrapped in flashes of red light.
Before long, Ethan arrived at the western gate. Several guards on the wall turned toward him, and a man approached.
"Reporting, Sir Ethan. A massive power battle is occurring in the west," said the man, the captain of the western gate guards.
"Delay all transportation entering or leaving the western gate. I will deactivate the teleportation crystals to prevent players from becoming victims of their battle," Ethan ordered, and the man immediately complied.
Ethan leaped forward forcefully, landed on the dirt road, and sprinted straight into the battlefield where Sera and Luna were fighting.
The battle had not even lasted ten minutes, yet many village buildings had already been destroyed. Trees were uprooted, the ground was scorched, and water was frozen solid.
Ethan looked up and saw Sera's overwhelming dominance over Luna's abilities. In their clash, Sera's power clearly surpassed Luna's.
There were many moments when Luna was pushed back and heavily pressured.
Sera vanished in an instant and appeared beside Ethan when she noticed he had arrived at the battlefield.
"She is the toughest opponent I have ever faced," Sera said.
"What should I do?" Ethan asked.
"It seems she is the Sky Goddess Lunareth. Her power is the night," Sera replied.
"Fighting her during the daytime is our best option."
"We just need to keep fighting her until she loses most of her power," Sera explained.
Ethan nodded. He asked Sera to bring Luna down to the ground, since it was difficult for him to fight Luna in the air. However, Sera refused.
"She is weaker in aerial combat. She may not be fully accustomed to her power yet," Sera said.
She turned and stretched out her hand, releasing sparkling golden light that enveloped Ethan's body. It was a portion of Sera's power, allowing Ethan to fly.
Ethan gasped as he felt his body float uncontrollably in the air. Sera advised him calmly.
"Control your flight with your thoughts. You need to stay calm."
"Alright," Ethan replied.
At first, flying and fighting at the same time was quite difficult for Ethan. However, he quickly began to understand the sensation.
In the end, he was able to fly steadily using mental control alone.
Sera smiled widely when she saw Ethan succeed on his first attempt. She rushed forward to attack Luna at close range, and Ethan followed closely behind.
The gap in strength between Luna and Ethan was significant. Ethan had been badly injured when he tried to block Luna's attack at LionArk headquarters.
If he recklessly tried to block her attacks again now, he would surely be killed.
Ethan chose to evade Luna's attacks and instead launched long range strikes at her. Explosions followed, but they did not have a significant effect on Luna.
With no other choice, Ethan planted his sword into the sky and activated the skill Bloodflare Cataclysm. This reduced Luna's strength and agility.
With a twenty second advantage and a buff that increased his attributes, Ethan dashed forward and attacked Luna at close range.
At times, he used his Ashura Rift skill to strike Luna. Since Luna was considered an enemy target, Ashura Rift counted whether it hit Luna directly or her magical barrier.
I can use this moment to complete the objective of my Talent Quest.
Bloodflare Cataclysm ended. Luna was slightly injured and clearly exhausted. Ethan did not stop. He continued attacking Luna with Ashura Rift, unleashing repeated triple claw strikes forward.
[Talent Quest]
[Swing Skill 2 800 times] [800/800]
[Talent Quest Completed]
[Reward: Skill 2 Lv 10 -> Lv. 50]
Ethan's power surged dramatically as his skill 2 jumped from level 10 to level 50. He could feel a rush of energy being absorbed into his body, and the damage of his skill 2 increased significantly.
Just as Ethan was about to attack Luna again, he froze in shock. Luna was crying while still fighting, as if her body was no longer in sync with her heart and mind.
Ethan stood stunned, then remembered the 1,000 Moon Fragments he had collected for Luna's Limited Side Quest.
Maybe the solution lies within these fragments.
An idea came to Ethan's mind. He asked Sera to restrain Luna tightly, and Sera nodded without hesitation.
Golden chains burst from the ground, binding Luna's arms and legs and making it difficult for her to move.
Ethan quickly moved in front of Luna. The Moon Fragments in his hand reacted, trembling and glowing with a navy blue light.
Not long after, all 1,000 Moon Fragments were absorbed into Luna's body. Luna screamed and cried out in pain.
Sera continued to suppress the violent surge of Luna's power, adding more golden chains to restrain her.
"I know this isn't you. Come back, Luna!" Ethan shouted firmly.
All of the Moon Fragments were fully absorbed into Luna's body. To their shock, the immense power surrounding Luna faded and disappeared completely.
Her eyes slowly closed, and she stopped struggling. Sera released the golden chains, causing Luna to fall from the sky.
Ethan hurriedly caught Luna and held her in his arms. He could still feel that Luna was alive, only asleep as if completely exhausted.
[Congratulations, you have completed the Limited Side Quest]
[Main Objectives:]
[1. Protect and raise Luna until she turns 17 years old (17/17)]
[2. Collect 1,000 Moon Fragments from dark element monsters (1000/1000)]
[Reward: Lunareth]
The crescent mark on Luna's forehead shone brighter and did not fade. The threat had ended completely.
Now, Ethan had two goddesses by his side, Seraphelis as the Goddess of Light and Lunareth as the Goddess of Night.
All players would kill me if they knew I was protecting the final enemy goddess in this game.
Forget that. What matters most is that Luna is safe.
