Chapter 258: Lunareth Soul Servant

***

The next day.

Stacks upon stacks of documents piled up and filled Ethan's desk. Sherly was there to help him, doing her best to make sure Ethan's work could be finished quickly.

Most of the documents were requests to join the Eastern Alliance, as well as applications for security assistance from LionArk to small cities that were alliance members.

Ethan had to divide his members carefully, making sure this work would not overburden them. Even so, he still had to prioritize another Raid Tower expedition no matter what.

The Raid Tower expedition had to be carried out. Contribution points had to be obtained. There was no other choice.

"I will postpone decisions on these requests. Go to Hanss and ask about the readiness of the first expedition team," Ethan said.

Sherly turned her head and nodded, fully understanding Ethan's instructions. She put down the file she was working on, then excused herself and left Ethan's office.

Ethan separated the files related to security assistance requests, then focused on selecting guilds that intended to join the alliance.

There were a total of 30 guilds that wanted to join, consisting of 14 Rank A guilds and 16 Rank B guilds.

Automatically, Ethan would reject the Rank B guilds because their strength did not meet the alliance's standards.

However, the 14 Rank A guilds that applied also had to pass a selection process.

Ethan needed to know how many members they had, what classes were dominant among their members, and what achievements they had accomplished over the past year.

If those three elements met the requirements, then a guild history check was needed.

Even if they met the requirements, if they had ever cooperated with Silver Star or Scavenger, Ethan would still reject them.

All 14 of those guilds came from the eastern plains. None of them controlled a city.

This made Ethan need to further assess their level of preparedness.

He sorted through the 14 guilds and found that only 8 met the requirements. The rest did not.

Next came the history check, whether they had ever cooperated with either Silver Star or Scavenger.

While Ethan was working, the door to his office opened.

It was not Hanss or Sherly. Sera and Luna came to visit Ethan. He lifted his head and looked forward, clearly surprised to see the two women standing there.

"You two. What is it?" Ethan asked.

"I told Luna about my status. She said she wants to become one of your servants."

Ethan had thought about it before, but he had not taken action yet.

He stopped his work, stood up, and stepped forward until he was standing in front of Luna.

"Is that true, Luna?" Ethan asked.

"If I become one of your servants, you won't have to worry about my safety anymore. That's what Sister Sera told me," Luna replied.

"Sister Sera?"

"I've been with you longer than Luna has. I asked her to call me that," Sera answered.

The man let out a sigh while shaking his head. There was nothing wrong with it, but it felt strange to realize that the two women were goddesses and yet called each other like real siblings.

He looked forward again, carefully examining Luna's face.

"I have no objection at all. Making you my servant would allow you to join me on every journey," Ethan said.

"I want to!" Luna said.

To do that, whether he liked it or not, Ethan had to release one of his soul servants. Not Sera, but either Neryss or Lyodra.

He activated the system panel and opened the soul servant menu. A blue holographic panel appeared in front of Ethan, displaying the three figures of his servants.

To release one, Ethan only needed to press the cross button at the top right corner of one servant's panel.

His choice fell on Neryss. He removed Neryss from his active servants, leaving one soul servant slot empty.

"Your turn," Ethan said, turning to look at Luna.

Luna nodded. She stepped beside Ethan, her palms pressed together. A deep navy blue aura burst forth strongly, accompanied by a change in Luna's appearance.

A silver crown floated above Luna's head, and the LionArk uniform she was wearing changed drastically into a beautiful blue and white gown.

Luna's eyes opened, glowing brightly with a blue light. In a matter of seconds, Luna's figure disappeared and was replaced by a blue orb wrapped in a powerful aura.

It had been a long time since Ethan had witnessed that moment. The last time he saw it was when Sera became his soul servant.

Ethan reached out, grabbed the orb, and placed it into his soul servant panel, precisely into the empty slot.

[Soul servant installation successful]

[3. Lunareth || Lv. 500 || SSS-Rank]

Level 500? So her level is equal to Sera's.

The empty slot on the soul servant panel changed into Luna's figure. Sera stepped closer to Ethan's side, clearly seeing that her younger sister had become part of Ethan's soul servants.

"With that, my task here is finished," Sera said.

"Yes. Thank you, Sera."

Sera nodded. Her form began to change into a chibi shape floating behind Ethan. Luna was also there in chibi form.

[BASE ATK & DEF]

[ATK: 58655]

[DEF: 51155]

An increase occurred in Ethan's ATK and DEF. He had expected it, considering Lunareth's level was higher than Neryss's.

That was even better. An increase in ATK would make his power even more unmatched. In the end, no one would be able to stand against Ethan.

Finished with the soul servant matter, Ethan returned to his desk to continue his work.

Sherly came back and informed him that Hanss would prepare the LionArk expedition team within 2 to 3 days.

"That's good. That way, we can determine how many members we can send to alliance cities," Ethan replied.

"Exactly."

"What about the city repair process?"

"The repair budget has already been provided. Right now, the NPC workers are carrying out their tasks," Sherly answered.

"Glad to hear it," Ethan said.

Sherly fell silent for a moment, then gathered her courage to speak to Ethan.

"Sir Ethan. There's something I want to ask," Sherly said.

Ethan narrowed his eyes slightly, signaling her to continue.

She explained that she had been meeting Hanss frequently lately. There was a feeling growing in her heart every time she met him.

Ethan smiled faintly, understanding where the conversation was going.

"What I want to ask is … what would your response be if Hanss intended to marry me?" Sherly asked.

"Why are you asking that?"

"I I thought maybe you would object if fellow LionArk members got married."

"I am engaged and married to Ashley. She is the Guild Master of LionArk," Ethan replied.

"So you mean—"

"If Hanss wants to propose to you, then you have my blessing. You don't need to worry. No one will judge you."
