I Become the Strongest with Infinite Skills Level

Chapter 264: Debt of Gratitude

Together with Hissy, Ethan left the LionArk headquarters during the day. His original plan was to go shopping for Spirit Crystals.

That was because yesterday he had not managed to get anything. The Spirit Crystals had already sold out before Ethan arrived.

This was Hissy's first time walking through the streets of a human city in human transformation mode while wearing the LionArk uniform.

Several people looked at Hissy with strange expressions. Aside from the red cursor above her head, her scaled skin and the horn-like protrusions on her head drew a lot of attention.

Even so, none of them dared to question her, especially after seeing Hissy walking closely behind Ethan.

"What's wrong with them? Why do they keep staring at me like that?" Hissy asked, moving closer until she held Ethan's hand.

"That's a normal reaction," Ethan replied, "They're not used to seeing an evolved pet that can transform into a human."

"Aren't all pets like that?"

"They do evolve, but only a few can transform," Ethan answered while glancing at her, "You're one of them."

"Is that… a good thing?" Hissy asked.

"You could say that. Pets that can transform into humans are rare."

Hissy continued listening to what Ethan said. She then looked forward again and noticed more humans gathering in one area.

Ethan stopped walking and responded with a sigh. He had already expected that the city center would be just as crowded during the day as it was at night.

He doubted whether he could get any Spirit Crystals, even though he admitted that they did not help his strength very much.

Many people glanced at Ethan, but they were more focused on their own business, such as shopping and upgrading their abilities.

Every shop was packed with customers. People only left after getting what they wanted.

However, whenever one person came out, two more went in. This made the crowd in each shop unlikely to thin out until everything was sold.

"What are we doing here?" Hissy asked.

"I originally wanted to shop, but I don't know where to start," Ethan replied, still looking ahead and observing the crowd.

As Ethan watched the people around him, someone suddenly called out to him from behind.

He reflexively turned around and saw two people approaching, a man and a woman.

"You? Weren't you the girl from last night?" Ethan asked.

"Yes. I want to shop again. What about you, Sir Ethan?" the woman asked.

"I wanted to, but seeing how crowded it is, I've lost the mood," Ethan replied.

"Hm… what item are you trying to buy?" the woman asked.

"I need to replace my Spirit Crystals," Ethan answered.

Out of a total of five Spirit Crystals, Ethan wanted to replace three of them. Those three needed to be changed for two reasons: low rank and incompatible elements.

With the Omniblade class and its two combat modes, the elements Ethan could choose were limited to two: fire and wind.

The two people in front of Ethan looked at each other, then nodded in response.

"Let us handle it," the woman said.

"Are you sure?" Ethan asked.

"Rare rank Spirit Crystals, right?"

"Epic."

"Oh."

Ethan smiled and let out a small laugh. He stretched out his hand and sent 400,000 gold to them. The woman was clearly shocked by that.

"W-What are you doing?" she asked in panic.

"I need three Spirit Crystals with fire and wind elements. The rank must be epic," Ethan said.

"I don't know how much they cost. You can keep the rest," Ethan added.

The woman was clearly happy to receive it. She memorized everything Ethan needed.

She promised to do her best to get the best Spirit Crystals for Ethan and not disappoint him.

"You can come to the LionArk headquarters after you get them," Ethan said.

"O-Okay… we'll go look for them now."

Quickly, the woman and her male companion stepped into a shop, pushing their way through the crowd.

Her heart was filled with pride and joy. She felt honored to receive a task directly from Ethan.

She was determined not to let him down. She owed Ethan her life, since he had previously saved her from rapists.

Hissy watched them leave, then asked a simple question. "Can they really do it?"

"They definitely can," Ethan replied.

"So we're not shopping anymore?" Hissy asked.

"Do you want to buy something?"

"I don't know. I'm not sure."

Ethan smiled. He explained that he had already entrusted his shopping money to the woman earlier. Whether she could be trusted or not was now his responsibility.

After finishing their business there, Ethan and Hissy left the city center and returned to the LionArk headquarters.

They went up to the third floor and entered Ethan's office. Sherly was there, still buried under stacks of documents on her desk.

"So? Did you buy a lot?" Sherly asked.

Hissy shook her head and told Sherly that the city center was packed with people. Ethan did not buy anything himself, but entrusted it to someone else.

"What were you trying to buy?" Sherly asked.

"Spirit Crystals," Ethan replied.

"Don't we have plenty of Spirit Crystals in the warehouse? Why didn't you take them from there?" Sherly asked.

"That inventory belongs to the guild. Even though I'm the Vice Guild Leader, I don't have the authority to use those items," Ethan answered.

"That's true. All items in the warehouse are only meant to be sold, not used," Sherly replied.

Ethan nodded. He returned to his desk and continued working.

He finished all his work by the afternoon, while Hissy was asleep on the sofa after eating three plates of sweet snacks.

"I didn't expect Hissy to be able to transform into a human like this," Sherly said.

"That's only her second evolution. I'm sure there will be many more in the future."

"She's the Venomfang Queen. Of course she'll keep getting stronger as she evolves," Ethan replied.

"You're going to bring Hissy to the Guild War, right?" Sherly asked.

"Of course."

"She'll be very useful to me during that event."
