Chapter 1967: Stolen Kiss [Part 2]

Villain Ch 1967. Stolen Kiss [Part 2]

Allen raised an eyebrow. "That's a yes?"

She nodded. "Yes."

He smiled. Not a smirk. Not a tease. A real smile.

Mila's heart skipped.

"You're not afraid what your brother's going to say?" he teased.

"Of course I am," she said. "But that's part of the fun."

He laughed again. "God, you're dangerous."

She shrugged, trying not to grin too hard. "You bring it out of me."

"I'll take the blame," he said, pulling her close again. This time his hand slipped to the small of her back. "You know, this could be our origin story. Tragic family rivalry. Forbidden romance. Steakhouse betrayal arc."

She laughed. "If you say the word star-crossed, I'm leaving."

He leaned in until their noses almost touched. "I was going to say 'sexily entangled,' but alright."

Her breath hitched. "You're such an ass."

"I'm your ass now."

"Oh my god."

Allen grinned. Her blush got worse.

She looked away quickly, staring at the automatic doors of the Cyber building like they held salvation. "You're relentless."

He brushed her hair behind her ear. "Only when I want something."

Her eyes darted back to his. "What do you want?"

His voice dropped lower. "Dinner. You. No cameras. But also… no hiding."

Mila bit her lip.

"You sure you're ready for that?" she whispered. "I mean… this feels like a lot."

"I'm already in it," he said. "Might as well stop pretending it's casual."

Her fingers curled in his shirt without realizing it.

She didn't know when she'd started falling for him. Maybe back during the first trade show they'd accidentally walked into together. Maybe when he covered for her during that PR mess that one time. Maybe when he looked at her like she wasn't a deal to make or a name to leverage.

But now?

Now it was too late to not fall.

And for once?

She didn't want to stop.

The entrance of the Cyber building buzzed softly, white security lights glowing underfoot, humming like distant stars beneath the translucent panels. The sky above them had dipped fully into night, and Mila could see their reflections in the building's glass. Two silhouettes too close for casual conversation, too charged for something undefined.

Her thoughts short-circuited every time he smiled at her like that. Like he saw her, not just her family name. Like he actually chose her.

So she did it.

She didn't wait. Didn't overthink it.

She kissed him.

Just leaned up, cupped the side of his jaw, and pressed her lips to his in one clean, impulsive motion.

He inhaled sharply, surprised. His body stiffened for the briefest second—his hand halfway through a sentence he never got to finish. But he didn't pull away.

Didn't even hesitate.

His hand slid gently to her waist, anchoring her. His lips answered hers, slow and warm and real. Not greedy. Not rushed. Like he wanted to memorize the shape of her breath before anything else.

Mila's pulse roared in her ears. Her fingers curled into his collar without meaning to. He was warm under the layers… suit, shirt, skin. All of it. His scent was clean and faintly spicy, something she'd come to associate with late meetings and quiet confidence and that damn half-smile he always wore.

When she finally pulled back, she did it slow, reluctant. Her face flushed and glowing, pupils a little wider than she liked. The back of her neck tingled.

Allen looked at her with amused surprise, his brows slightly raised, lips still curved just a little from the kiss.

"Well," he said, voice low. "That wasn't very professional of you, Miss Sterlinghart."

Mila's stomach flipped, embarrassed. "Don't."

He grinned. "I'm just saying."

"Shut up," she muttered, blushing deeper.

"You kissed me," he said, pointing it out like she didn't know.

"I'm aware."

"I thought we were keeping it slow. Mysterious. Corporate espionage levels of romantic tension."

"I changed my mind."

He leaned closer, forehead just inches from hers. "Do it again and I might call legal to draft a contract."

Mila laughed, breathless. "Are you seriously threatening to legally bind me over a kiss?"

Allen's eyes sparkled. "No. But if you want exclusivity clauses and date-night clauses and midnight-call allowances, I can get that drawn up by noon tomorrow."

Mila groaned, hiding her face in his chest.

"I hate you."

"No, you don't."

"I do."

"Then kiss me like you mean it."

She looked up—caught the way he was biting the inside of his cheek like he was trying not to look too pleased with himself.

"You're so full of yourself," she muttered.

"You're the one who kissed me."

"I'm regretting it."

Allen smirked, brushing her cheek with his knuckles. "Liar."

Her heart thudded again. Not from nerves this time. Just from him.

"I'm serious," he murmured. "Do you want to pretend this didn't happen?"

She hesitated. Then shook her head.

"No."

"Good." His voice dropped, smoother now. Dangerous. "Because I was already planning our second kiss."

"Second?"

"You stole the first for tonight," he said, brushing his thumb along her bottom lip, slow. "That means I get to steal the next one."

Mila's breath hitched. "That's not how it works."

Allen leaned in, lips brushing just barely over hers again—not quite a kiss, not yet. "Then teach me."

She almost did.

Almost let him take it again. Right there. In the middle of the sidewalk. In full view of a building packed with employees, investors, night-shift developers, and probably three interns crying in a stairwell somewhere.

But she paused.

Not because she didn't want it.

Because her whole body wanted it.

But she also wanted to remember it.

Wanted to look at him with her heart hammering like this and know he was real. That this was real. Not just a flirtation. Not just rebellion against a family legacy. Something… deeper.

He noticed the pause. Didn't push. Just let her breathe.

"You're dangerous," she whispered again, almost laughing.

Allen leaned back slightly, still holding her hips like he had all the time in the world.

"You're the one kissing criminals."

Mila rolled her eyes but couldn't stop smiling.

He looked so different like this.
