"Nice."
I took another slow circle around the body. Face—done. Frame—done. Proportions—almost.
There were… details left. Things that mattered more.
I made the adjustments without overthinking them. Corrected balance. Improved symmetry. Made it girthier and longer.
To finish it off, I made sure the shape was designed for maximum pleasure.
Lastly, there was the voice. I got plenty of options to choose from, which made things a lot more convenient.
Satisfied, I let the system finalize the changes.
[Host, would you like to save this as Default #1]
"I can create more?"
[Affirmative. You only require an upgrade card to further increase this skill. At your current level, you may store up to three presets.]
Is it Christmas back in my old world or something? Why did it feel like the system was being a little too generous all of a sudden?
Either way, I loved it.
Not wanting to waste a single second, I went straight to creating another appearance.
This time, I made an older version of myself—an aged figure that carried wisdom in his eyes.
Silver-streaked gray hair sat at his temples, and a long beard draped down his face.
I adjusted his eyes into narrow monolids, further emphasizing his Asian features.
Now, he looked like the kind of man you'd expect to meet on a mountain peak—a martial arts master from old films, the type who would train the protagonist and pass down a legendary technique.
"Hahaha." I couldn't hold back my laughter anymore.
It reminded me of a novel —one where the main character pretended to have a powerful Master Teacher, when in reality, it was just him putting on an act the whole time.
Not gonna lie, that was exactly why I designed this second appearance in the first place.
For the third one, I decided to make a kid—because what's cooler than a hidden master? Well, it was an innocent-looking kid who could destroy a building.
"Yeah, that's enough fun for now." I nodded, satisfied.
[Would you like to confirm all the changes?]
"Yes."
[Which default would you like to use—#1, #2, or #3?]
"Number 1"
My vision went blank, and the next thing I knew, I was back in the motel room. I checked the time—only a minute had passed.
I summoned the system and saw the clone card sitting beside my spear, treated like any other item. I pulled it out and activated it.
From my shadow, a body slowly emerged, its head raising upward until it slumped onto the floor like a discarded corpse.
I wasn't exaggerating—it looked completely lifeless. Not even a hint of breath. I couldn't help but wonder if it even had internal organs.
Curious, I gave its head a light kick. No reaction at all.
"System, how do I even use this? And how can it perform my techniques if its body is… completely limp?"
[Host, do not be concerned. The internal structure of this clone perfectly mirrors all of your unique physiques and is continuously updated in real time.]
[The original Duality skill required significant preparation and specialized materials, but the system has fully optimized and automated the process for maximum efficiency and convenience.]
I nodded slowly. "Yeah… I've gotta admit, you really outdid yourself this time, System."
No response.
"How can I control it, then?" I asked.
[Simply close your eyes, Host, and imagine the link connecting the two of you. It should come naturally.]
I did exactly that.
The moment I shut my eyes, something tugged at my awareness—soft at first, then firmer, like an invisible thread tightening around my mind.
My thoughts blurred. My sense of direction flipped. For a heartbeat, I couldn't tell where I ended anymore.
When I opened my eyes again, I was staring at my original body.
I forced myself to move, the unfamiliar weight responding a fraction of a second too late. My heart beat as I straightened my back.
My original body was still standing there, eyes closed, chest rising and falling, frozen in a trance like it had slipped into deep meditation.
Meanwhile, I started admiring my second body. I was still completely naked, which made it easy to see every line of muscle, clean and well-defined.
To my surprise, the sensation felt almost identical to original one. When I clenched my fist, the same surge of power flowed through me without hesitation.
Closing my eyes, I focused inward, checking my internal organs to see just how closely this body imitated my own.
Everything was there.
Organs. Meridians. Dantians. Flow.
It mirrored me so closely it was unsettling, like looking into a perfect reflection that breathed back. I almost forgot this wasn't my original body.
That was when a thought hit me.
"If I cultivate with this body," I asked quietly, "will my original one benefit too?"
[Negative, Host. The clone is completely dependent on the original body. Any buffs or debuffs applied to the clone will be reset once it is converted back into a card.]
I half-expected as much, so I wasn't really all that disappointed.
"Alright, let's see just how much this thing can do."
The Shadow Skill came first, shaping power into different weapons and shape. There was no delay at all—everything responded instantly.
Next came the spear. The first few movements felt stiff, but after a couple of swings, that stiffness melted away, replaced by familiar, fluid motion.
Lastly, the Werewolf form. The transformation triggered without resistance.
"Nice… nice."
This gave me another option.
In the off chance that they started suspecting me, I could simply show up as someone else entirely—and transform right in the middle of the street.
Just imagining what I could get away with using 'Duality' was already putting me in a great mood.
"By the way, System—if I unsummon this card while it's far away, what happens?"
[Host, due to system integration, you may recall the clone card from any location.]
That was music to my ears.
"Then next question—what happens if my original body is in danger while I'm controlling the clone?"
