Reincarnated With The Degenerate System

Chapter 184: CH-184

I offered to drive her back home. To my surprise, she didn't refuse. It seemed that, despite her wealth, her lifestyle wasn't as luxurious as mine because of her own preference.

She didn't want anyone guarding her, nor did she need it. A clear difference between generational wealth and being self-made.

Soon, we arrived at a tall, premium condominium building—she had an entire floor all to herself.

"Are you going to invite me in?" I joked, testing my luck.

She gave a half-smile. "Thank you for the dinner, Mr. Mercer. You're not as bad as I thought. Just don't break your promise, and I might give you another chance to take me out again."

It was just a polite gesture, but damn—I almost reached for her hand. An urge to hug her swelled in my chest, hard to ignore.

While heading back to the guild building, I kept replaying her smiling face. I pinched myself just to snap out of the daydream. Then I forced my mind to focus on other matters.

Our conversation about her guild earning billions per year from her still echoed in my mind. I knew celebrity Seekers made money, but I had severely underestimated just how popular they really were.

If I could make Alexa the face of our guild, we might not hit that number—but pulling in a couple billion wasn't impossible with enough marketing.

In terms of looks, the two shared the same kind of beauty—Eastern. They also had similar concept of power.

But Hai-Yen was a step ahead in overall audience impact. Her face sparked envy in women and desire in men.

She was also more flexible than I thought. At first, I assumed her way of carrying herself meant she had a stubborn personality.

But by the end of dinner, she smiled—and it caught me off guard. That smile…it was very dangerous.

'Is she really that pretty… or am I just too easy?' I wondered to myself. I wasn't exactly the type of guy who played hard to get.

I checked my phone and did some quick research to see just how popular she really was.

'Wow'

Her net worth was around 7.2 billion—and that was after the government took more than half in taxes, not to mention her other expenses.

Clicking around some more, I decided to dig for additional information.

Celebrity Seekers were raking in insane amounts of money At least a dozen of them dominated the country right now, and seven of those weren't even S-Rank yet—they were just A-Rank with good looks and other talents, like singing and dancing.

Then my attention turned to the male category. The guys were annoyingly good-looking.

Wait. There was someone bringing in more sponsorship money than Hai‑Yen.

And it was a man named Henry.

He just signed with Mythical in their main city. The photos alone were enough to explain his popularity—perfectly shape jawline, charming smile, the kind of looks that stopped people mid-scroll.

If I stood next to him, I would look less like a billionaire and more like a fast-food cashier—and that was even with my face looking better than before, after breaking through.

I clicked my tongue in annoyance and locked the screen.

Then I froze.

…Wait.

'Duality.'

'How did I forget about that?' I muttered.

I was already planning to use it to create a fake S‑Ranker anyway. So why stop there?

If I was going to fabricate one… why not make him ridiculously handsome too?

Someone strong.

Someone eye‑catching.

Someone who printed money just by existing.

Once I got back to my office, I hurriedly used my ability, replacing the middle-aged uncle from default #3 with a new figure—a man radiating a dark, and dangerous charm, rather than the soft, delicate look of K-pop idols.

Short, midnight-black hair, easy to style with a touch of wax, framed a pale, almost devilish looking handsome face—like he had stepped out of hell to rule the world.

When I finished, I paused, noticing just how much he resembled that famous actor who played the devil in my old world.

Only this one had flawless skin, perfect posture, a noticeably younger look, facial features almost mechanically precise, and a body so perfectly sculpted it could've belonged to an Olympic athlete.

Now all I needed was to give this guy a fake identity, send him through the Seeker exam, and let everything fall into place.

Good thing the 'Order' was full of people who could forge documents—if you paid the right price.

I couldn't help but chuckle. If this went through, the DEGEN GUILD would really take the world by surprise.

Days passed, and once my new identity was ready, I went straight to the Seeker Association to get a license.

My new identity was Chase Nate—a real person who had gone missing for years in another city but was never reported. I chose this persona because his background perfectly fit my needs.

On top of that, the man was already dead. The Order had quietly taken him out and disposed of the body somewhere no one would ever look. That made the identity safe to use.

Inside the association, I was immediately met with the familiar sight of people lining up, each hoping to change their lives.

However, I was facing a different kind of problem.

My clone's looks were too eye-catching, so I threw on a baggy jacket, a face mask, and sunglasses just to tone down my charisma.

"Mr. Chase, please take a seat and wait for your turn," a female attendant said, gesturing to the row of chairs behind me.

I nodded politely, sliding into one of them.

Around me, other applicants shuffled nervously, casting curious glances in the direction of the testing room.

When my name was finally called, I stood, smoothing down my jacket and adjusting my sunglasses.

Inside, they asked me to do the same thing as before—but this time, I didn't hold back.

I took a deep breath and let my energy surge into the machine.

Time to show the world a glimpse of my real power.
