Gacha Leveling

Chapter 136 – When Hell Breaks Lose 15

Aym was a large demon. He had the body of a red skinned man, but from his neck sprouted 3 different heads. The head of a goat, the head of a serpent and a human head with dark eyes and black long hair. On its forehead, two stars glowed in red mana. He wore a beautiful silver spiked armor and carried a huge flaming sword.

Matthew watched closely as he stormed through the castle downing Balors as if they were mere imps.

The serpent head looked at Matthew and laughed softly.

"Didn't think you'd come this far, Son of Adam." Aym said to him leaving the fight to his subordinates and getting close to Matthew.

Matthew looked up as the Duke of Violentia towered over him.

"Why are you here?" Aym asked almost gently.

"I want to make sure the gate will close after Beleth dies." Matthew answered holding in his fear from the great demon.

"I see. Yes. It is tempting to end what Beleth started. But I have no wishes upon the Prime." Aym said rubbing the chin of his goat head. "But I do know you'd not trust me on this."

Matthew just stared at him. There was nothing he could do.

"Beleth is weakened in the body of that mortal. And returning to his own body will take some time." Aym explained to Matthew gesturing for him to follow as the demon walked over the dead bodies of other demons. "If I kill him here, I'll be able to claim the title of King for myself." He explained his motives. "You understand that that will take my whole focus on the hells and that I'll not have time to…" Aym took a pause to find the right word. "Play on your Earth."

"But what about them?" Matthew asked gesturing at some imps playing football with the head of a Cambion.

Aym laughed.

"I need to see the gate closed." Matthew said resolute.

"Fine. If you want to fight by my side, I won't deny you." Aym said guiding him upstairs through a narrow staircase that almost didn't fit the large demon.

"Is it Beleth who is keeping the portal open?" Matthew asked walking behind him.

"It's one of his men. The Hells work differently than other realms. If you wish to summon a demon you do offer mana. You offer souls." Aym explained. "Opening a gate to the Prime Realm requires quite a sum. That woman made a huge offering."

Matthew shuddered thinking about how many people she killed for that.

"Even right now, the mortals dying in your realm by the hands of demons are having their souls brought here. All to conjure the power to take Beleth's body to your realm." Aym explained while decapitating a Balor with the ease of slicing butter. "But you are right. It is not Beleth keeping the spell. The spell was two fold. The woman in Earth sacrificed the souls of her men to open the gate and one of Beleth's men is keeping the gate open from my lands."

"So I need to kill this demon holding the gate open." Matthew summarized.

"Can you do it?" Aym asked with a small laughter while opening a door.

The door led to a wide room with a throne in the middle. Sat on the throne was the figure of a young man dressed in white robes. He had white short hair and golden skin. His body was slender but his muscles were apparent. He was extremely handsome.

The man looked to be asleep while Douglas, possessed by Beleth, was standing guard with a score of Cambions and Balors.

"That, child of Adam, is Beleth's real body." Aym said to Matthew as his own troops entered the room. "And that little cat at the back is your target." The Duke pointed to a red-eyed leopard. "He's a President of hell. His name is Ose."

"AYM!" Beleth screamed from inside Douglas' body. "How dare you?!"

"Good luck, child." Aym said to Matthew before stepping forward.

"You dare plot against me? Conquest itself?" Beleth hissed.

"Bel…" Aym said mocking the Demon King. "You should know better than traversing my lands without an invitation."

While the two demons bickered with each other, Matthew circled the men and walked towards the leopard on the back. It was sat still looking up through a window at the gate in the sky.

"Matthew." The leopard said. "You know, if you kill me here, you won't be able to return to your home. Poor Sarah will miss her brother so much." It added looking towards him over its shoulder.

"Ose, wasn't it?" Matthew asked.

"It is I." Ose replied.

"If you keep that gate open, I don't think I'll have a home to return to." Matthew said drawing his sword and gun.

"Shame." The leopard shivered and twisted as its body grew and contorted into the shame of a man with blonde hair and red eyes dressed in leopard fur. "I don't like fighting. But you leave me no way out."

The battle broke out behind them. Demon killing demon with loud laughter and enjoyment.

"Look at them." Ose said drawing a rapier with a flaming blade from the air. "Savages."

"You are also smiling." Matthew noted.

"I am, aren't I?" Ose laughed touching his own lips. "Guess I'm a demon after all. But so are you."

Matthew took a step back.

"You're loving this, aren't you?" Ose asked chuckling. "The smell of burnt flesh and blood in the air. Look at you. You feel right at home."

"This is not me." Matthew said rubbing his left eye. "I'm just cursed."

"Not for long. It's taking over you. You are becoming one of us." Ose laughed. "Welcome home boy."

"Don't listen to him." Ffyr said telepathically hidden inside Matthew's necklace. "You are still you, even if your soul is consumed by demonic mana."

"Is that really true, Ffyr?" Ose said taking the fairy and Matthew by surprise. "There is no secret I don't know, daughter of Titania."

"Then I just have to leave before it takes my whole soul." Matthew said pointing the gun at Ose.

"It won't be enough." The demon said deflecting a bullet with his sword when Matthew shot. "You are already a demon, boy." He added while charging forward.

From the first strike, Matthew realized he was not strong enough to face a hell President. Even boosted by both unholy and demonic mana, he wasn't strong enough to face that demon.

Ose's rapier swung fast and precise against Matthew. He did his best to defend and counter attack. He used his gun when he could. He covered his attacks with unholy fire and defended from the searing rapier covering his blade with water using his Create Water skill added to his Imbue Mana.

Ose was not only fast, it was strong. Its slashes left Matthew numb even though he was parrying them the best he could.

Matthew had to think of something fast. His mind searched his skills for an answer. Something. Anything that could help him there.

Ose's pressure was making Matthew retreat step by step. They were now getting closer to the fight between Aym and Beleth.

Beleth, using Douglas' body, was no match against Aym in person. But Beleth had more allies than Aym. The Duke was having problems facing the possessed body of Douglas and fight Balors at the same time.

That's when Matthew fell close to Aym after parrying an attack from Ose.

"Are you fine, child?" Aym laughed at Matthew as he healed the wounds caused by Ose.

"Could be better." Matthew replied getting to his feet.

"I'll have a lot of pleasure killing you, boy." Beleth said to Matthew seeing him stand by Aym's side.

"Having trouble too?" Matthew asked Aym.

"He's a bit stronger than I imagined. But it's only a question of time." The Duke answered. "Can you beat Ose?"

"No." Matthew said shooting down some imps that tried to get close and discarding his gun that was now out of bullets.

Aym laughed and took out his dagger giving it to Matthew. The blade was curved with serrated back and glowed red hot. It was as big as Matthew's swords, even though it was a mere dagger on the hand of the giant demon.

"Thanks?" Matthew said not sure if he should.

"I will need your help." Aym said. "In turn, I'll help you close the gate."

"It's a deal?" Matthew asked.

"Yes." Aym confirmed kicking a Cambion away with such strength that it flew out a window.

"Those two Balors flanking Beleth. They are exceptional. Distract them." Aym said stoping a fireball Beleth threw at them with his hand.

Matthew nodded charging forward with Aym charging by his side against Beleth. Matthew met Ose in the middle who stopped him from reaching the Balors.

Matthew traded some strikes with the President, but was soon overwhelmed.

Ose, with two precise strikes, opened Matthew's guard. On the next movement, he stabbed at Matthew's chest. However, before the blade reached Matthew's flesh, he disappeared in front of Ose.
