Urban Carefree Warrior God

Chapter 177: What a Wicked Young Man!

"Alright, you're really something!" Qin Song scrambled to his feet, pointing viciously at Chen Yang. "Just you wait! I'll show you how I deal with you!"

With those words, Qin Song was too embarrassed to stay any longer and fled.

Chen Yang chuckled and shook his head. This guy is really unlucky. I had no intention of hassling him.

As he turned, he saw Zheng Xiaoduo waving at him. Her face was full of smiles as she gestured nonstop, as if to say, Don't worry, I've already taken care of everything for you!

Chen Yang felt a wave of helplessness. What is wrong with this girl? Why does she insist on having me as her master?

As he was thinking, the faint scent of perfume wafted toward him. Soon, a tall, striking figure stood before him.

Zheng Xiaoman got straight to the point. "I don't know why my sister insists on making you her master, but I don't think you're qualified to be her teacher! I'll hire a good teacher for her from the Martial Association, and later I'll tell her you flat-out refused to take her. As for you, don't have any more contact with her from now on!"

Her tone was dismissive and brooked no argument.

Then, Zheng Xiaoman changed the subject. "As for the contract, I'll give you a five-point discount on the original price! But we can't sign today. I have to attend a banquet held by the Martial Association tonight."

"The Martial Association?" Chen Yang paused, then asked, "What kind of banquet?"

"I heard the Martial Association is planning to establish a branch in Lingjin City, so they're holding a preliminary banquet for it."

Zheng Xiaoman glanced at Chen Yang. This guy doesn't care about what I just said, but he's interested in the Martial Association's banquet?

Her brow furrowed slightly. "Did you hear what I just said?"

"You didn't have to tell me that; I never intended to accept her," Chen Yang said with a smile. "But thank you for the offer on the contract. Regarding the preliminary banquet you mentioned, could you tell me the time and place?"

"Baili Hotel, seven o'clock tonight!" Zheng Xiaoman replied, adding, "Don't even think about it. You won't be able to get in."

Just as Zheng Xiaoman turned to leave, Chen Yang smiled. "I heard that the two boys who tried to make a move on Xiaoduo both died in accidents?"

"They were scum!" Zheng Xiaoman gave a noncommittal reply and strode away.

Chen Yang shook his head to himself. From the moment this woman showed such excessive concern for Zheng Xiaoduo, I knew it had to be her. Is this kind of overprotectiveness really a good thing? In the end, it has nothing to do with me.

Then, he turned and left.

"Did he... Did he really say that?" Zheng Xiaoduo asked, her head hanging low and her lips pouted in a forlorn expression.

Zheng Xiaoman patted her on the shoulder. "We can't force someone against their will. But don't worry, I'll go to the Martial Association and find you the best teacher."

Zheng Xiaoduo fell silent. She glanced in the direction Chen Yang had disappeared before walking away, looking dejected.

"Sigh!"

Zheng Xiaoman let out a long sigh. My sister is just too naive. With a personality like that, she's so easily taken advantage of. If that weren't the case, I wouldn't have to watch over her so closely.

"It's okay," Zheng Xiaoman said, chasing after her to comfort her. "I'll take you to the Martial Association's banquet tonight. Who knows, you might find a suitable teacher there."

She really didn't think much of Chen Yang. What kind of great skills could a man have who would stoop to marrying into his wife's family? Besides, he only defeated the president of some college Martial Arts Society. To put it bluntly, that's just an adult bullying a child. What's the significance in that? Only naive young girls would be foolish enough to admire him for it.

***

On the main road leading to Book Mountain Court, a young man in a plain white robe leaned casually against a lamppost. Between the fingers of his outstretched right hand, a Three-Foot Green Peak Sword danced nimbly. It moved like a spirited snake, flipping and turning in his palm with graceful ease, as if it were stuck to his hand.

His strange attire and the display with the sword attracted many passing pedestrians, who stopped to watch. The movements were simply too cool.

"What's this guy doing? That robe is pretty stylish, though."

"Look at his presence! I bet he's a highly skilled Fist Master."

"It looks like he's waiting for someone?"

The crowd murmured, speculating about the young man's identity.

The young man whistled as he looked up at the sky, occasionally glancing down both ends of the road. He did, indeed, seem to be waiting for someone.

A short while later, a silver van appeared at one end of the road, heading straight in this direction, toward Book Mountain Court.

The young man gave it a cursory glance, then pulled out a photograph to compare. After taking a pointed look at the license plate, he grinned. "So, you're finally here."

Pushing off the lamppost, he stepped onto the road. He held the photo in one hand and shouldered the Three-Foot Green Peak Sword with the other, walking nonchalantly toward the van.

Eventually, the van stopped less than two meters away from him.

The person in the van was, of course, Chen Yang on his way home. He poked his head out of the car window and frowned. "What's your problem?"

The young man tossed the photo aside and smiled coolly. "It's you, all right."

"Kid, I heard you told my master to apologize within three days?" the young man said with a smile as he shouldered his Three-Foot Green Peak Sword and walked toward Chen Yang. "You've got some nerve!"

So he's from the Martial Association? I get it now. This guy was waiting here specifically to intercept me. No wonder he's so arrogant!

"Are you Ye Nantian's disciple?" Chen Yang asked as he stepped out of the car.

"That's right! My master is none other than Ye Nantian, one of the two protectors of the Martial Association! And I am his second disciple, Han Shaobai!"

Han Shaobai stopped two meters from Chen Yang. He pointed his right index finger north and commanded, "Kneel. Kowtow three times to my master, then hand over the prescription!"

"After that, I will take your head and report back to my master."

HISSS!!

The surrounding onlookers all gasped in unison.

No wonder the young man had such a transcendent air and was in the prime of his life—he was a disciple of a Martial Association protector! That status alone was enough to scare the life out of them. Han Shaobai's words sent a chill down their spines.

To demand someone kneel and kowtow on sight, and then to take their head...

How tyrannical!

Coupled with his carefree, nonchalant demeanor, the visual and psychological impact he had on the crowd was magnified immensely.

What a wicked young man!

Chen Yang was amused. "Ye Nantian didn't come himself, but sent you instead?"

"Trash like you needs my master to show up personally? I can destroy you with one hand!"
