Chapter 517: If You're a Man Fight Me!!

As the car window rolled down, a fair arm reached out and beckoned to Guo Yang.

Guo Yang immediately walked over.

Through the partially open window, a handsome young man with a soft, effeminate air asked, "How's the situation?"

The man was Li Chen, the second young master of the Li Family, one of the eight most powerful families in Cangyun City. He had quite a reputation within the circles of the wealthy elite.

Guo Yang replied, "Mr. Li, Su Ling isn't here. Only that woman is. I've already told her to come to the club tonight."

"Why not just grab her? Why wait until tonight?" Jiang Ying asked, her displeasure and confusion evident.

She couldn't wait another moment to see Su Ling suffer a fate worse than death.

"Now, now." Li Chen waved his hand dismissively. "Grabbing people is what thugs do. How could civilized people like us resort to such methods?"

Now fully dressed, Li Chen lit a cigarette and said nonchalantly, "Tonight, all we have to do is wait."

"But what if she doesn't come? What if she thinks Su Ling can protect her? And what if she runs away?" Jiang Ying pressed, still not satisfied.

"When has prey that Mr. Li has set his sights on ever escaped?" Guo Yang said as he got into the driver's seat and started the car. "As for Su Ling, that little bastard will probably be too scared to make a peep when he hears Mr. Li's name."

He flashed a vicious smile as he drove away. "And as for running? The moment she steps out of this residential complex, I'll be the first to know. It's like I always say: once Mr. Li has his eyes on someone, she couldn't escape even if she grew a pair of wings."

Hearing this, Jiang Ying finally relaxed. She changed the subject, playfully throwing herself into Li Chen's arms. "Mr. Li, you're so bad... I told you not to finish inside, but you did it anyway. What if... it's really bad for my body, you know."

With the cigarette dangling from his lips, Li Chen pulled out his checkbook and scribbled down a number. "Here," he said. "Take this and get yourself something to build up your strength."

"Thank you, Mr. Li!" Jiang Ying was overjoyed. She'd seen the number clearly—it was more than a million!

Running through the list of men in her life, Li Chen seemed to be the most generous. He was nothing like that little bastard Su Ling, who wouldn't part with a single hair. As resentment for Su Ling flared, she began to wonder if she should find a chance to ask Mr. Li for an apartment.

As the car was about to exit the residential complex, they drove right past Chen Yang.

If Jiang Ying had been sitting up properly, she would have recognized Chen Yang at a glance. Unfortunately, she was otherwise occupied.

Chen Yang parked his car and walked alone through the residential complex's central square.

Disbanded. A group of passionate, good men, completely scattered. Back in the day, every single one of them was as fierce as a tiger, each worth several men. But now... Gathered, they were a single flame; scattered, they were a sky full of stars. I wish them well.

As for him... he had left the most passionate years of his youth on that rainforest battlefield. His blood had stained the yellow sands, he had carried a coffin into battle, and had always been the first to charge. When his battle saber was drawn, who in the entire world would have dared to face a Martial Guard of Hanyun Valley in open combat? Regretfully, there wasn't a single one.

With a deep sigh, Chen Yang banished all memories of the past from his mind.

A man has to live in the present, after all.

On the vast square, some people were out with their children, others were chatting away, and a few were even practicing martial arts.

Under a parasol tree, Tang Yuan stood with a purple clay teapot in hand, instructing Tang Lan on her boxing form.

Tang Lan's Baji Fist managed to capture some of its essence, but...

Chen Yang inwardly shook his head. This version of Baji Fist had clearly been simplified. It had gained some flair for show, but it had lost its core killing intent. To put it bluntly, it was just flashy but ineffective. True Baji Fist was swift and decisive, every single move a killing blow.

Tang Yuan had noticed Chen Yang, of course, but he simply turned his head, pretending not to see him. He took a sip from the spout of his teapot and said nothing.

Tang Lan, however, clearly saw Chen Yang shake his head.

What is he shaking his head for? Does he think my form is bad? That it's beneath his notice?

"What are you shaking your head about?" Tang Lan, who already disliked Chen Yang, immediately blew her top. She pointed a finger at him and snapped, "You act like you're some kind of expert! If you're a Fist Master yourself, then have the guts to come over here and fight me!"

"For a man to stand there shaking his head in that passive-aggressive way... it's disgusting!"

Chen Yang was speechless. What did I do to provoke anyone? Is this woman crazy, or did she eat a stick of dynamite for breakfast?

"Xiaolan, what kind of way is that to talk?" Tang Yuan frowned and chided Tang Lan before turning to Chen Yang. "You understand Baji Fist too, son?"

"I know a little," Chen Yang replied nonchalantly.

"Perfect. In that case, come and have a match with me." Tang Lan took a step forward, the corners of her lips curling into a smirk. "I'd like to see just what makes you qualified to shake your head at me."

How tedious. Chen Yang shook his head again and turned to leave.

"HMPH!" Tang Lan darted after him, blocking his path. "Are you a man or not? You don't even have the courage to face me in a fight?"

Nearby, Tang Yuan said nothing, merely watching how things unfolded. Clearly, he too was somewhat displeased by Chen Yang's earlier gesture. That, combined with his confidence in his granddaughter and his own annoyance at Chen Yang's presumptuousness, meant he had no intention of intervening. In fact, he was quite content to let them fight it out.

Chen Yang's eyes narrowed. He simply didn't want to waste his time, but this woman was becoming unbearably irritating.
