Grey didn't worry about the pill being a trap or anything. If it was, the Appraisal Skill would've already alerted him of the danger.
The pill, upon entering Grey's mouth, instantly melted, and out of it, a terrifying fluctuation emerged. What was left was a glowing ball of light that charged upward to his brain. Instantly, it shot into his neural pathways and arrived within his mindscape.
It made its way toward his purple psionic nexus flame with intricate patterns and tried to enter it.
Buzz!
Energy spread out from the flames as they began reacting. The calm flame was set ablaze, burning with a faster rhythm as it sent out mental fluctuations within his consciousness.
Inch by inch, he felt his mind growing stronger. The white light was absorbed into the flame, and it grew brighter. A feeling of something heavy being lifted off his head filled him, and his mental thoughts became much clearer.
But the real transformation was with the Mind Perception.
"Let's test it out." Grey opened his eyes and turned to his left. There, a door with the same golden intricate patterns from the time he first entered the trial had appeared. He swiftly made his way out.
Immediately, his vision flickered, and he was right back at the staircase.
"Perfect." Grey smiled.
He swiftly climbed back up and left the entrance to the cave.
There, he saw nobody. From the looks of it, everyone had left after his warning.
Grey nodded slightly, and the next moment, he slowly spread his mental perception out.
100 meters... 150 meters... 200 meters... 250 meters... 300 meters!
"It doubled." Grey was stunned at the revelation.
Although it didn't reach the length of a 1st-level 2nd-ranker, which was 500 meters, it was still a significant boost. Within this 300 meters, he could see everything, even evolvers far away trying to climb up the mountain.
He even saw the people who were here before he entered the trial; they were fighting some mutated beasts.
And on the other side, he saw some members from the Interwire Company ascending the mountain.
Seeing all this, Grey gave out a single command.
Mental Annihilation Art!
The instant the technique was activated, the beasts within the three-hundred-meter radius and the Interwire Company evolvers all froze in place. The color drained from their eyes, and they fell to the ground with a thud.
They weren't dead, but they definitely wouldn't be able to form a thought after this day.
The evolvers who were fighting some of the mutated beasts were stunned seeing this. One of the espers in their team had a grave look on his face.
"A powerful mental fluctuation." He spoke, trembling slightly. "I just felt a powerful mental fluctuation on a large scale. It was targeted at the mutated beasts."
He spoke fearfully.
The attack was so powerful that even his psionic energy went out of control for a moment.
...
There were over seventy or more mutated beasts within the area of coverage, and now all of them were half-living, they will never be able to form a thought after this.
As for the interwire company evolvers, he didn't have any remorse about eliminating them. They were his enemies, and if he were weaker than them, he wouldn't be standing in the air overlooking the mountain now. Instead, he would probably be six feet under.
And above everything, they worked for the High Order.
Since that was the case, there was no need for hesitation.
"Now, all I need to do is give a single command and they will die." Grey nodded, satisfied.
Crushing and eliminating multiple enemies that were within his mind perception was something he could do but never had the chance to do until now.
On a large scale at least.
And after using it for the first time, Grey realized the scope of power he had achieved.
Grey then directly eliminated everyone who was affected by the Mind Annihilation Art, and with a wave of his hand, several beast cores flew into the sky, with the evolvers scattered around watching in awe.
With a flick of his hand, he stored all of them inside his spatial ring.
Most of them were at the late stage of the 1st rank or middle stages, but due to the pure condition of this place, the vital essence was extremely pure. Hence, it could be utilized when it was time for a breakthrough to the 2nd rank.
Grey then took his mind perception back.
He settled the matters of his powers in his mind and moved. Time waited for no one, and this was just the beginning. If everything went right, then he would soar to a higher realm. He didn't let this get to him.
For now, he had cleared the 1st trial, and it took him a bit more than an hour to do so, but the other one shouldn't even take him much time.
That was because the left one was the easiest.
He flew along the path of the mountain road that connected to the mountain on the right and swiftly descended down to it.
As soon as he descended, the air shifted and the familiar barrier formation rippled, and the mountain's surface began to change.
The grass and trees slowly sank into the ground, revealing a broad, flat stretch of stone beneath. The smooth slabs were fitted together perfectly, forming a massive circular platform that stretched across the mountain top. Strange symbols were carved across its surface, faintly glowing with golden light.
In the very center stood a large stone platform, simple but imposing, with a wide circular mark engraved on it, the starting point of the trial. Surrounding it were stone pillars of varying heights
Compared to the Mental Illusion Trial Mountain, this mountain had far more evolvers, almost seventy of them, and coincidentally, this mountain, according to the records, was more focused on the physical side.
It tested one's aptitude, strength, and endurance.
This test could be done by anyone following the top five evolutionary paths and emerge victorious as long as they were at the late stage.
Immortal cultivators could use their spiritual energy to amplify their strength and endurance, but they might not necessarily pass the endurance test, as once their energy ran out, so would their defense.
Martial artists, with their strong bodies, would do just fine.
Bloodline warriors who had merged with the bloodline of a powerful beast could also effortlessly go through this, and Elementalists could utilize their elemental power for amplification, but they would run out of energy in the long run in the endurance chamber.
As for espers, they would be able to pass the test if and only if they had a barrier-type mental skill that could use psionic energy to protect them or a barrier ability.
Below, many evolvers were already undergoing the strength assessment.
