Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 152: Request (1)

The talismans all around the province rippled with a strange power and immediately shone with bright light.

Buzz!

One by one, from the corners of the province, this blinding light erupted and connected together. For a brief moment, everyone, be it normal people or civilians, was blinded for a split second.

However, it did not last long. The shining light that covered the place vanished, and as the civilians and evolvers opened their eyes, they were stunned.

They could no longer believe what they were seeing.

"T-the corruption fields..." one of the civilians spoke in a trembling tone. "They're gone."

"The corruption fields are gone!" another one exclaimed.

The law enforcers of the Three Guards Province all stared at this scene in dead silence.

"The corruption fields have disappeared." Lia looked at this with a hint of surprise.

"Indeed." The Immortal Lady spoke with a slightly stunned look.

Others might not know what this signified, but knowing the terror of the abyss, the Immortal Lady perfectly understood what this meant.

"The corruption energy in the air has also completely vanished." The lady was stunned.

Removing corruption from the abyss.

What did this imply?

The Immortal Lady stared at Grey in disbelief.

This meant Grey Lockhart had effectively found a way to deal with the abyss, something not even the greatest experts of the starry sky had been capable of doing.

Although she had given him a method of cleansing, she had not expected him to actually develop a way to deal with the corruption fields.

Now, he had utterly crushed her expectations. He had gone beyond them.

"If he isn't worthy of sainthood then no one is." The Immortal Lady shook her head.

To the side, Alissa was watching all this.

From the beginning to the end she saw it all. Every time she saw him, he changed, and the changes were immense.

She almost could not believe her eyes.

Removing corruption fields.

If the people of Nova City heard about this, they would probably think it was a joke.

At the same time, she was conflicted. As his sister, she had doubted him. She did not know how to face Grey anymore now that he was here.

But one thing was certain. She should apologize.

She had wronged Grey, misunderstood him, and even hated him. He was not the same Grey she once knew, and she could see clearly that this Grey loved his family.

He cared for Richard. That much was evident to her.

It was time she forgave him for everything and apologized to him.

The past was past.

Then, she turned to the Immortal Lady. From the looks of it, she knew Grey prior to this. The way they talked was like two acquaintances speaking.

And this lady, her instincts screamed that the woman was extremely powerful.

Grey then descended downward.

"How is my array, Immortal Lady?" Grey asked with a grin.

"It's impressive." The Immortal Lady said lightly. "You went beyond my expectations. Should I say as expected of a saint?"

"I'm not a full saint yet." Grey shook his head.

"You aren't?" The Immortal Lady remembered the sudden disappearance of the heavenly phenomenon.

"Makes sense. Whenever a full saint is born, the planet itself will be covered in heavenly phenomena."

Grey nodded. He then turned to Alissa, who stiffened slightly the moment his gaze fell on her.

Immediately, he landed in front of her.

"Did you miss me, my little sister?" Grey asked with a smile on his face.

Alissa blinked once. Her expression remained indifferent as she spoke, "Hmph. Who would miss you?"

"Oh." Grey's lips twitched when he heard it.

"And here I thought my sister would be sad after not seeing me for two months."

Alissa turned her head to the side with a soft scoff. "You were only gone for two months."

Inside, however, her composure wavered. She had responded instinctively, defaulting to her cold tone, and now she did not know whether to laugh or sigh.

Grey, on the other hand, was surprised. He did not expect Alissa to actually respond instead of ignoring him outright.

Well, it saved him from embarrassing himself in front of Senior Immortal Lady at least.

Then, Alissa glanced at him and released a tiny breath. She spoke quietly, "Dad misses you."

"I know." Grey smiled. "Once this is all over, we will naturally go and see Dad."

"Mm." Alissa nodded.

She observed Grey closely and took a deep breath.

She wanted to apologize, but doing so in public felt too humiliating. Her cold facade would shatter instantly.

At the same time, Grey noticed something. He felt some sort of change happening around Alissa.

He frowned when he saw this. He could not put his finger on it, nor did his comprehension ability activate to give him any clue.

"Did anything happen to you recently?" Grey asked curiously.

"No," Alissa replied calmly. "Why?"

"Nothing. Don't worry about it." Grey shook his head.

Then, he stared up into the sky. "It's time we end this battle."

Alissa nodded silently.

She could no longer sense Grey's power. It was the same case for Lia as well, which meant both of them were now incredibly strong.

She could not afford to fall behind.

She would train even harder now!

With that, Grey floated up and then shot off toward the ground.

He had to do something before confronting Orin and Varyn.

However, looking above, it did not seem like they were having a great time dealing with Little Hong and Werner.

Descending down, Grey noticed a tattered figure inside a huge crater. He used his Saint's Eyes power to see the man's life aura, and luckily the man was still alive, barely clutching onto life.

He immediately went up to him and fed him a healing potion.

Immediately, most of his injuries began to heal at a rapid pace. Of course, not all healed, only the outer ones. The internal injuries were still there, but his life could definitely be saved now.

Dorian, after being fed the healing potion, slowly opened his eyes.

As soon as he did, he saw Grey.

His first reaction was alertness, but he realized he could not move his body as a severe pain assaulted him.

Then, he heard Grey speak.

"I'll come straight to the point." Grey said in a serious tone. "Are you willing to make me the city lord of this province?"
