Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 200: Power of Chaos and connection to the old world

The power of chaos burst forth, ripping through the air like a primordial beast awakening from slumber. Space itself trembled as distortions spread across the sky, and the ground quivered violently. Everyone in the vicinity was shaken to their core. This was not simply aura. It was a force that clawed directly at the soul, threatening to tear apart anything that lingered too close.

Several evolvers collapsed to their knees, their elixir fields trembling uncontrollably. Others instinctively staggered backward, feet refusing to step forward no matter how much their minds screamed to stand firm.

Even Fedrick, a veteran 3rd ranker who had weathered countless life and death trials, felt the blood drain from his face. His protective essence erupted around him, but it felt like holding up a paper shield against a collapsing mountain. His heart pounded erratically, and for the first time in years, genuine fear surfaced in his eyes.

This was not a power an ordinary being could wield!

It transcended logic. It exceeded the Federation's classifications. It was something that should never exist in a remote, backwater region like this.

Fedrick's breath hitched, cold dread crawling across his spine.

This power could eliminate him!

"This feels similar to Hongmeng." Lia muttered, frozen, midair above Ashspire City. Her astonishment was plain to see.

Her Law of Hongmeng stirred involuntarily, resonating with the chaotic pressure.

Then, a light flashed and Valeria covered in the heavenly fire aura appeared.

"Just what is that power?" Valeria murmured. Her tone remained calm, yet the faint unease in her eyes betrayed her internal shock. Even her Law of Heavenly Fire trembled under the power released by Little Hong.

"Miss Valeria." Lia quickly offered a greeting.

"You are Miss Lia, correct?" Valeria smiled, her voice gentle. "We never had the chance to speak before. I was consumed by work in the corporation. I hope you will forgive my lack of manners earlier."

"It is nothing, Miss Valeria." Lia shook her head.

"There is no need for such formality. Call me Sister Valeria. I will address you as Sister Lia." Valeria said it lightly, but her tone carried unmistakable sincerity.

Lia blinked in surprise. "Then I will call you Sister Valeria."

Her voice softened without her noticing. Valeria was known in the Southern Region as a powerhouse draped in flame and authority. The discovery that she was approachable left Lia unexpectedly warm.

Valeria's gaze drifted toward Grey's distant silhouette. "Do you think he can win?"

"Probably." Lia's lips curved slightly. "It is him after all."

Their eyes met, sharing a brief moment of understanding.

Even without Little Hong, they both believed Grey would find a way. He always did.

They turned their attention back to Grey, both wearing calm yet hopeful expressions.

They had never spoken before today, yet at this moment, their thoughts aligned perfectly. Two hearts concerned for the same person, both placing their trust in the miracle called Grey.

Grey immediately activated telepathy, reaching out to Little Hong.

'Little Hong, calm your powers. You are scaring the entire city.' Through his mind perception, he had sensed ordinary evolvers trembling uncontrollably under her aura.

'Grey… he wants to harm you.' Little Hong's tone was cold and protective. 'You are very weak right now. Let Little Hong protect you.'

Grey's lips twitched slightly.

Being called weak by his own daughter was hardly something to celebrate, but she was not wrong. His current strength was limited, while Little Hong now displayed power exceeding the threshold of a 3rd ranker.

She was already comparable to a pseudo 3rd rank or even above, the power of Law made a huge difference.

At the same time, this confirmed something. She was undeniably connected to the ancient god he had read about in his previous world. She was most likely the very being mentioned in that mythology.

But what unsettled him deeply was a simple question.

How did a planet with no evolvers, no supernatural traces, possess mythology describing beings like Little Hong?

How was that even possible?

And the evolutionary paths in this world resembled the fiction he had read. Even immortal cultivation followed the patterns of the novels from his old world.

Those immortal cultivation fictions were heavily inspired by the same mythology Little Hong originated from. Did this mean that immortals and gods actually existed in his old world?

'Once I get stronger… I must find a way back to Earth.' Grey's eyes flickered with resolve.

He then refocused on Fedrick, who looked utterly terrified under Little Hong's power.

'Good. This is exactly what I wanted.' Grey already had a plan for Fedrick even before Little Hong acted.

It involved his secret realm.

As the consciousness of the secret realm, he could channel enough power to directly eliminate a 12th-level 2nd rank evolver. Sealing a 3rd rank was absolutely possible.

He could suppress Fedrick temporarily, then use a sealing array to trap him completely.

He did not need to do this personally, since Little Hong could effortlessly erase the man. But doing so would only bring more trouble. The Federation would be alerted the moment Fedrick died.

Sealing him inside the secret realm, however, would sever his connection entirely.

And Fedrick could be used. His affinity toward the law of Yin and Yang made him a valuable specimen for Grey's future comprehension.

'Little Hong, stay put for now. I know what to do.' Grey glanced at her and spoke through telepathy. 'Just threaten him with your power. I will handle the rest.'

'But…' Little Hong hesitated, her reluctance clear.

'Trust me." Grey placed a hand on her head. "We do not need to eliminate him. Not all enemies must be crushed. Some are more useful alive.'

'Valuable?' Little Hong tilted her head. 'Then I will do as Grey says.'

'Good.' Grey smiled faintly.

It was not that he particularly wished to spare Fedrick, but killing him would complicate matters. Keeping him alive had far more benefits.

With a single thought, Grey summoned the portal to his secret realm, positioning it right beside Fedrick. The air distorted violently.

Grey swiftly activated Time Stop.

The world fell silent.

The instant Grey activated Time Stop, the colors around him dulled, sound vanished, and everything froze as if submerged in still water. The chaotic wind halted mid-swirl. Dust hung motionless. Fedrick's terrified expression remained carved in place.

Only Grey moved freely within the frozen world.

"Time really is terrifying." Grey muttered under his breath. Even the pressure leaking from Fedrick had gone silent, suspended perfectly in place. "But it works."

He reached the man in a few steps.

Fedrick, despite being a 3rd ranker, looked unbelievably fragile, frozen like this.

However, the amount of damage he could do was limited to a 3rd ranker that too within two seconds.

He swiftly drove all the force into his fists and punched him into the secret realm behind him.

Time resumed and Fedrick's expression turned ugly as his body was plunged into the spatial distortion.
