Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 295: One look is enough

"Pay with my head?"

Grey's draconic body flickered as silver purple light rippled across its surface, and in the next instant, the massive form collapsed inward.

A human figure stood where the dragon had been.

Grey stood calmly in the air, a wide grin slowly forming on his face.

"You want to take my head?" He burst out laughing, as if he had just heard the most ridiculous joke in a long time.

"Just... you?"

His laughter cut off abruptly. Grey's expression turned cold.

Buzzt! Boom!

Heavenly tribulation energy and Nexus energy erupted from Grey's body at the same time, exploding outward like a nuclear blast, no, an atomic detonation.

The moment it surged forth, the showy abyssal energy the Abyssal Mistress had been releasing was forcibly extinguished at a distance.

Her presence vanished completely, her momentum crushed as the overwhelming pressure of Nexus energy overshadowed everything on the battlefield.

"She isn't the only one here!"

The red robed expert roared as he erupted with his own power.

In an instant, the abyssal auras of the Abyssal Mistress and the third ranker combined, surging forward together as they attempted to suppress Grey, who stood alone against them.

Seeing this, the Infernals instinctively reacted, their auras stirring as they prepared to release their power.

"No need." Grey said calmly as he slowly raised one hand.

"In a battle of matching energy and presence, I will never lose."

"What are you dumb dogs down there waiting for?!" The third ranker bellowed. "Go engage the Infernals!"

Dense abyssal energy erupted from the ground below as thousands of second rankers shot into the sky one after another.

Their mere ascent shook the terrain around the Ice Walls, the land trembling under their combined presence.

Due to the abnormal nature of the Ice Walls, no cities or settlements existed nearby.

This place was a battlefield made for unleashing power without restraint.

If anything, the Ice Walls would simply absorb the attacks.

Grey could unleash his strength freely, without worry or hesitation.

"Attack him and the Infernals!"

"Kill them!"

"Eliminate them!"

"Do not let a single Infernal survive!"

"Crush them with numbers!"

"Suppress Grey Lockhart!"

"Do not give him time to retaliate!"

"Release everything, do not hold back!"

The high order members rushing forward all wore bloodthirsty expressions, their eyes glowing with abyssal light as killing intent surged outward.

"Burn them to ashes!"

"Shatter their bodies!"

"Tear the Infernals apart!"

"Devour them alive!"

Abilities erupted one after another as they charged.

Flames roared through the sky, thunder howled as lightning tore through the clouds, and massive beams of destruction carved straight through the air.

Dark lances, corrupted sigils, and twisted abyssal constructs filled the heavens, all surging toward Grey and the Infernals at the same time.

For a brief moment, the sky itself seemed to drown beneath the sheer number of attacks, layers upon layers of power overlapping as the high order members unleashed everything they had.

It was a storm meant to erase all existence in its path.

At the same time, one of the placed down arrays activated.

The array of amplification!

The attack power immediately increased several fold.

"He's bound to get injured by this." The bald headed third ranker asserted coldly as he poured even more power into suppressing Grey's unleashed storm of energy.

They were locked in a stalemate.

If Grey chose to move and dodge these attacks, they would emerge victorious in this exchange.

And from there, they would seize the momentum.

Lin Fang stood off to the side, his breathing gradually tightening as his gaze locked onto the sky that had already been buried beneath countless overlapping attacks.

This kind of scale was no longer about individual strength.

Thousands striking at once, their power layered, synchronized, and amplified, forming a tide meant to erase everything in its path.

Unless Grey released the Infernals and forced them into self destructive sacrifice, there was simply no way to overturn this outcome.

That was the conclusion any rational mind would reach.

Then, before the storm could descend, a distorted, glitched voice rippled outward, its tone calm yet carrying a strange interference that made even the air vibrate.

The world shook in response.

"How laughable. Is this all you have?"

Grey stood calmly in midair, his figure unmoved as the incoming storm pressed closer, wave after wave of destructive force tearing through space toward him.

Nexus Overclock surged relentlessly within his body, refusing to settle, refusing to stabilize, as his Saint's Eyes slowly brightened, locking onto the mass of attacks with deliberate intent.

"Space Cleaving Rupture."

The moment the words left his mouth, the space before him began to distort violently, layers of reality compressing, twisting, and folding in on themselves as if an invisible blade had been dragged straight through existence.

Boom! Skrrt!

The air screamed as fractures spread outward, the world cracking apart like stressed glass, jagged lines of broken space forming a gaping rupture directly in front of Grey and the Infernals standing behind him.

Whrmm!

"Gravitational Frame."

A warped suction force immediately took shape around the rupture, gravity no longer behaving as a passive law but asserting itself as an active will.

The flow of energy reversed, trajectories bent unnaturally, and one by one, the incoming attacks were dragged off course, pulled inward, and swallowed whole by the spatial crack, disappearing like torrents of water pouring endlessly into a bottomless drain.

Not a single attack reached him.

"What?!"

Everyone observing the scene froze, their expressions stiffening as disbelief set in, the realization slowly sinking in that what should have been an unavoidable annihilation had just been erased without Grey taking a single step back.

"W-What was that?" The bald headed man in the red robe shouted in utter disbelief.

"Spatial Law." The Abyssal Mistress's gaze locked onto Grey, cold intent surging within her eyes. "He comprehended the Spatial Law."

"How is that possible?" Her expression flickered as disbelief crept in.

"How can a lesser being like him comprehend a law that defines the very structure of a world?"

"He's completely fine?" The second rank cannon fodders stared in disbelief, their bodies frozen in shock.

But their shock did not last long.

"What are you waiting for?!" One of the high order members roared as he grit his teeth. "He may have withstood our attack once, but that does not mean we have exhausted our energy!"

"Attack again!" He bellowed.

Hearing this, the soldiers began to move one after another.

That was right.

They still had plenty of energy left.

If one attempt failed, they would repeat it until it succeeded.

With that determination, they stepped forward.

However, the very next moment, the air around them trembled softly.

Grey stood suspended in the sky, his clothes and long hair fluttering gently in the wind.

His expression was indifferent.

His saintly eyes swept across the advancing soldiers for a single split second.

It lasted only an instant.

Yet in that instant, every high order soldier froze in place as an overwhelming sense of dread crept into their hearts and minds.

No.

It was more accurate to say their entire existence reacted.

Their instincts as evolvers screamed.

Their powers delivered a final warning.

A message.

DEATH.

Time ticked by.

One second passed.

When the moment ended, those who remained in the sky all wore grim expressions.

The army of high order soldiers vanished from the world, erased without a sound.

"May you all rest in peace."
