"Star Annihilation: Four-Point Execution!"
"KA-BOOOOOOOM!"
The explosion was contained entirely within the wyvern's head!
Her skull bulged outward as the dark energy detonated internally! Cracks spread across her golden scales like spiderwebs! Her eyes, both the wounded and the healthy one, went wide with shock and pain!
For exactly five seconds, the Golden Wyvern remained conscious!
Her body trembled! Her jaws worked soundlessly! Her remaining wing beat once, twice, three times…
Then stopped.
The light in her molten gold eyes dimmed… flickered… and went out.
"Thud."
The massive body collapsed forward, Levi still perched on her head.
The impact shook the entire plateau. Dust rose in clouds. Small avalanches triggered on nearby cliff faces.
Silence fell across the mountain.
For ten full seconds, nothing moved.
Then Levi slowly stood, his four arms spread wide, his blood-red eyes surveying the battlefield.
The Golden Wyvern was dead.
He had won.
But the cost…
"Koff! Koff!"
Levi suddenly stumbled, coughing up blood. The Asura transformation flickered, and he felt it beginning to fade.
His body was a mess. Multiple broken bones, internal bleeding, countless lacerations, and his meridians were absolutely shredded from the accumulated abuse—Tiger transformation, golden drops, and now this Asura bloodline all stacking on top of each other.
The transformation canceled.
"Pop! Pop!"
His extra two arms suddenly retracted into his body, the flesh sealing over where they'd emerged! The crimson scales faded, absorbed back into his skin! The horns shortened, then disappeared completely!
His eyes returned to their normal color, though they seemed duller now, exhausted!
Levi's three-meter Tiger form also canceled, shrinking back to his normal 1.8-meter height.
He stood there, human-sized again, covered head to toe in blood—his own and the wyvern's.
"Squeak?"
A tiny sound from his pocket.
Luna poked her head out, having hidden during the entire transformation. She looked at Levi with concern, her small paws patting his chest as if checking that he was okay.
"I'm… fine…" Levi lied through gritted teeth. "Just… need… to rest…"
One of his legs weakened.
He collapsed to his knees beside the wyvern's corpse, his body finally succumbing to exhaustion.
But even as he was exhausted, he knew he couldn't afford to rest right now.
He then activated the Celestial Slaughter Art.
His hands moved through the seals as his Astra energy invaded the beasts sewing out its life essence.
The mote that emerged was enormous. It easily the size of his fist and glowing with intense golden light that made his previous extractions look like fireflies in comparison.
This was a Fiend Warrior beast with dragon bloodline. The accumulated power in its life essence was staggering.
Levi's seals shaped the essence, compressed it, formed the familiar pattern of a Celestial Slaughter Mark.
But when the pattern completed and shot toward his forehead, something different happened.
"WENG!"
The mark didn't just sink into his skin—it exploded!
Fifteen smaller marks erupted from the single large one, each one flying to a different location on Levi's body!
One between his eyebrows! Two on his temples! Four across his chest! Four along his spine! Four on his limbs!
[Ding! Celestial Slaughter Mark acquired]
[Second threshold surpassed!]
[Physical Strength increased by 50%]
[Soul Strength increased by 50%]
[Killing Aura dramatically enhanced]
[Slaughter Domain upgraded: Range increased to 25 meters, Effect increased to 35% stat reduction]
[New Ability Unlocked: Slaughter Intent Manifestation]
[Slaughter Intent Manifestation: You can now manifest your killing intent as physical constructs (weapons, barriers, attacks). Cost: High Astra energy consumption.]
But Levi barely registered the notifications.
His body had finally reached its limit.
"Thud."
He collapsed face-first onto the stone, unconscious before he even finished falling.
Luna squeaked in alarm and scrambled out of his pocket, her tiny paws patting his face trying to wake him.
But Levi was completely out, his Regeneration working overtime to keep him alive as his body slowly, painfully began to repair the catastrophic damage.
-----
Time passed.
Ten minutes. Twenty. Thirty.
Then, finally, Levi's eyes cracked open.
"Ugh…"
Everything hurt. Everything.
His Regeneration, enhanced by the new Celestial Moon Necklace he'd received from the lottery had accelerated his healing.
He wasn't at full strength yet but at least he was alive for the moment.
"Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!"
Luna was practically dancing on his chest, squeaking frantically with relief as she glared at him with her arms glinting all over the place.
"I'm okay, I'm okay," Levi muttered, gently picking her up. "Takes more than a Golden Wyvern to kill me."
He forced himself to sit up, wincing at the pain, and looked around.
The entire place was devastated. Craters everywhere. The cliff face partially collapsed. Scorch marks and bloodstains covering every surface.
And in the center of it all, the massive corpse of the Golden Wyvern.
Levi approached it slowly, limping slightly, and placed his hand on her golden scales.
The golden scale was truly impressive. If theh could seep the material from this beast, it should be enough to hold his expenses for a month. But for others, it might actually hold up their cultivation expenses for a year or even more than two years. However, Levi's rate of consuming Astra with was insane he couldn't be compared to an average person.
Then Levi got to work.
He harvested the Golden Wyvern's core, a crystalline sphere the size of a basketball that glowed with concentrated dragon-aspect Astra energy. This alone was worth at least fifty million credits.
He collected scales, claws, teeth, and small vials of blood. All incredibly valuable crafting materials.
He even carefully extracted the wyvern's heart, which was still warm and pulsing faintly with residual life energy. Golden Wyvern hearts were legendary alchemical ingredients.
By the time he finished, his spatial ring was completely full.
"Alright," Levi muttered. "Time to find the others."
He looked toward where the Silverpeak students had fled and began walking in that direction.
It took him two hours of careful navigation down the mountain path before he finally found them.
They had set up a temporary camp in a defensible ravine, the two Golden Wyvern cubs secured in makeshift cages made from ice and fire—Ren and Kai's combined work.
Marcus saw him first.
The Silverpeak leader's eyes went wide with shock. "LEVI!"
All four students rushed toward him, their expressions a mixture of relief, disbelief, and concern.
"You're alive!" Lyra cried, tears streaming down her face. "We thought… we thought the wyvern…"
"It's dead," Levi said simply.
Silence.
"What?" Marcus breathed.
"The Golden Wyvern is dead. I killed it."
"But… but that's impossible! It was in berserk mode! Its strength was at least Level 3 Fiend Warrior! You're only—"
"I'm Level 3 Fiend Warrior now too," Levi interrupted. "Broke through during the fight."
That wasn't entirely accurate—his actual cultivation had only reached Level 6 Genetic Soldier, and the Fiend Warrior level strength was temporary from his Asura bloodline—but it was close enough to the truth.
Marcus stared at him for a long moment, then slowly shook his head in disbelief.
"You… you're insane. You know that, right? Completely, utterly insane."
Levi smiled tiredly. "I've been told that before."
"Did you really kill it?" Kai asked, his voice hushed with awe. "The Golden Wyvern is actually dead?"
In response, Levi pulled out the wyvern's ear from his spatial ring and tossed it to Marcus.
The Silverpeak leader caught it, staring at the golden-scaled flesh in his hands.
"By the ancestors…" he whispered. "You actually did it."
"We should go back," Ren said suddenly. "To harvest the body. A Golden Wyvern corpse is worth a fortune, and if we leave it too long, other beasts will—"
"Already harvested," Levi said, pulling out the basketball-sized core. "Got the most valuable parts. The rest of the corpse is too big to transport, but I took everything portable."
Their eyes locked onto the core, mouths falling open.
"That's… that's a Fiend Warrior tier core…" Lyra breathed. "With dragon-aspect energy… that's worth…"
"At least fifty million credits," Marcus finished. "Probably more if we find the right buyer."
Silence fell as the reality of what they'd accomplished sank in.
They had successfully hunted a Golden Wyvern, captured its cubs, and survived.
"So," Levi said, breaking the silence. "About our deal. One cub for me, one for you four to split?"
Marcus nodded slowly. "That was the agreement. Though honestly, after what you did… if you wanted both cubs, I don't think any of us would argue."
"A deal is a deal," Levi said firmly. "Besides, I only need one. Let me see them."
They walked to the makeshift cages.
The two Golden Wyvern cubs were huddled together, squeaking nervously. They were roughly the size of large dogs, covered in golden scales that. Their wings were still small, barely enough to make them fly at the moment. Their eyes were bright and intelligent, tracking the humans with a mixture of fear and curiosity.
One was slightly larger with darker gold scales and green eyes—probably male.
The other was smaller with lighter gold scales and blue eyes—probably female.
"You choose first," Marcus said. "You earned it."
