Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 164: Lady Kaguya's Feeding

The scent of Kaguya's newfound fear wafted into my nostrils as I sank my fangs into her soft flesh. The metallic taste of her blood filled my mouth as I once again released my venom into her system. Her mind was weakened enough, so I was positive it would work this time. And like clockwork, it did.

Since she's already a vampire, my venom didn't turn her into a hybrid. I was somewhat relieved by this. I don't think I can handle another person that is solely reliant on my blood.

Looking at her status, I couldn't help but feels satisfied by my catch. She also a high-level awakened vampire. Someone who had already gone through their first awakening.

With someone of her power level, I was one step closer to being strong enough to face the Veylmont clan. Plus, her skills as an assassin will be invaluable.

Kaguya's eyes glowed a brilliant shade of orange, and with just one look, I could tell she was mine. For a woman who normally shows little emotion, she seemed awfully devoted right now.

"Do you wish to feed?" I asked.

She nodded her head, and without hesitation, she slowly brought her lips closer to my neck. Her chest pressed against mine as she leaned in close. Her heart was beating fast. Too fast. Her hands tried to grab a hold of me but they were trembling too much for get a proper grip.

'Is she nervous?'

Her hot breath grazed against my neck before her needle-like fangs sank deep into my flesh. The moment she sank her fangs into my neck, it felt wrong. She missed my jugular vein completely.

"I'm sorry!" she whispered in a soft, trembling voice before sinking her fangs back into my neck, and once again she missed my vein. Her breathing was erratic, and her body was trembling uncontrollably.

I looked at her face, and to my surprise, the ice queen was blushing. I never knew this stone-cold assassin had this side of her. This side of her brought a smile to my face and I teasingly poked her cheek.

"You're nervous."

"It's just a bit embarrassing... This sort of thing is too intimate. It's not proper."

I reckoned she was facing the same problem Isabella was. She doesn't have a proper grasp on her emotions. Now that she wasn't compelled I bet she was feeling all sots of things she was able to before. And since for vampires, sucking someone's blood is an intimate act, I understood her nervousness.

"Let me help you," I said.

At that point, I was standing over her while she sat on the chair. So I promptly untied her, lifted her up, and sat her down in my lap.

"Eh?"

Her face seemed to glow even more. Her body was so light, almost as if I was holding a feather.

"Close your eyes, and I'll guide you along," I instructed.

A bit hesitantly, she did as I instructed and closed her eyes. I held the back of her head and slowly guided her to my vein. She seemed much calmer this way, and her heartbeat had slowed down, and her breathing was back to normal.

I guided her until her lips grazed the spot where my vein was.

"Feed."

Without hesitation, her fangs pierced into my flesh once again. The moment she began drinking my blood, her complexion returned. Her skin returned to its light complexion and was no longer pale.

Then suddenly, she latched onto my neck tighter, and I no longer needed to help feed her. Her hands no longer trembled as she took what she wanted. In this way, she was a lot like Isabella. Kaguya kept herself composed like a prim and proper lady while she was drinking my blood. Unlike Isabella who had the tendency to touch herself, especially when she thought I was sleeping.

Time passed with her drinking my blood as if she were dying for it. The sound she made whenever she swallowed a mouthful became a soft melody in my ears. When she was finally full, she licked the blood from my neck as if she were cleaning up after herself, then collapsed against my chest and began snuggling up.

For a second, she looked like a happy cat settling down to sleep after a meal until her eyes suddenly jolted open. She finally realized the compromising position she was in, sitting on my lap, and as if struck by electricity, she jumped to her feet and bowed her head.

"I'm sorry, alpha!"

Her personality did a complete 180. All because of my venom and now her newfound addiction to my blood.

"It's fine," I assured her before getting back to the main reason I came down here in the first place. "For now, I'll need every piece of information you have on Allucard."

This time she nodded without hesitation.

"Yes, what do you want to know?"

"Is there any weakness he has? Not just physical ones, psychological ones too."

Kaguya racked her brain trying to think of any.

"The young master… I mean Allucard doesn't have any physical weakness. He inherited his shadow ability from his mother and his blood manipulation from his father. He's one of the rare vampires that has more than one main ability."

"Interesting... Victor also had blood manipulation ability and shadow ability when I fought him," I said, to which Kaguya nodded and politely explained.

"Yes, both of them inherited both their parents' abilities. Victor was a prodigy, but Allucard is a genius. He has already unlocked the bloodline that is responsible for his father's ability, making him far more adept at blood manipulation than Victor ever was."

"I see. So he already unlocked a bloodline. That will make him tricky to fight."

"Yes, his father's Upír bloodline will make him a tricky opponent to fight. But what makes things even more complicated now is that he is predicted to unlock his mother's Dracule bloodline any day now. With these two powerful bloodlines, in a few more years he'll be the most powerful vampire in Purgatory."

"If that's the case, then he must have a lot of suitors after him," I inquired. "Maybe a lot of noble families are trying to marry their daughters off to him to secure a place."

Kaguya shook her head.

"Allucard already has a wife. She's a noble vampire from an obscure family that only became nobles a few years ago." When she spoke, Kaguya looked a bit uneasy.

"Is that it?"

"That woman… Allucard's wife, I don't really trust her."

"Is there a particular reason why?"

"No, it's just my instincts. Something about her makes me uneasy. And Allucard has changed a lot since he married her. For one, he's home more often, and he's very particular about what happens in the house."

"So would you say he cares about his wife?"

"No, he treats her worse than anyone else. At times, some of the other maids feel sorry for her, especially now that she's with child."

'There it was. A pregnant wife. That's that's the crack I needed.'

"Thank you, Kaguya. Your help means a lot."

"But what about my daughter?" Kaguya grabbed my hand and stared up at me pleadingly. "I don't care what you have to do, even if you have to kill everyone in that household, save her. I know I haven't been the best mother, but if it means sacrificing my one life, I'll do it without hesitation, so just please…"

"Don't worry."

I gave her a kind smile and patted her on the head.

"I care about your daughter too much to let anything happen to her. I'll get her back. Even if I have to kill my way to her."

She smiled warmly at me.

"Does my daughter know how you feel? She can be a bit stubborn at times, and come to think of it, I think you're the same way as well."

I couldn't help but chuckle at her assumption.

"You're right. We've had our fair share of stand-offs."

An unexpected laughter escaped Kaguya's lips, even though she tried to stifle it.

"I can already picture how spiteful she can be when she doesn't get her way," she giggled. "Thank you. Thank you for looking after her."

After Kaguya and I were done talking, we went back up to the inn, but before we got to the top of the stairs, we were greeted by an unexpected figure. From the way she was looking at me, I could tell that she was upset about something. And her tail thrashing around behind her only confirmed it.

"Is something the matter, Sylvie?"
