Werewolf Leveling: Building the Strongest Pack in the Apocalypse

Chapter 189: Fabulous Fixies

Khalissi and I walked through the bustling city hand in hand. Khalissi used her magic to alter my appearance so I wouldn't be recognized, since my face was plastered all over the news not too long ago. Now instead of black hair, I had white hair and a pair of horns on my head.

We walked until her eyes seemed to catch something. I traced her gaze to a store that seemed to have many women going in and out. Her eyes held a weird twinkle as she watched them.

"How about we explore the city a bit more? We haven't gotten the chance since we've been here," she asked.

"You mean you want to go in that store?"

"Those dresses don't look so bad, considering they were made by lower lifeforms," she smiled.

"I don't know. I don't think they will look flattering on me, and bear in mind I'm one of those lower lifeforms you're speaking of."

She practically ignored my words and dragged me towards the store. The moment we stepped in, the air seemed to get lighter, and I was hit with a strong earthy scent. But what really grabbed my attention was the small sparkling dust flickering about.

At first, it looked like a regular clothes store with mannequins of different sizes and shapes displaying those clothes collections. There were quite a few people inside checking out the merchandise. Most of them were women, and they were accompanied by the bored faces of their male spouses or friends who were with them.

"Greetings! Welcome to Fabulous Fixies. The best clothes store you'll find here in Purgatory. How may I help you?"

Suddenly, a tiny high-pitched voice echoed somewhere around us. Khalissi and I looked at each other, wondering if one of us had spoken.

"Feel free to ask me anything you need," the voice spoke again, and it was only then that we noticed the tiny being floating in front of us.

She was roughly the size of my pinky, with blond hair and a golden-colored dress. Her tiny wings fluttered behind her, keeping her suspended, and with every beat, tiny golden particles erupted from them.

Khalissi looked at the tiny creature in awe and reached out to poke it with her finger.

"I didn't know babies were this small in your worlds. It's crazy what lack of mana can do to a being."

Hearing Khalissi's words, the tiny creature's face turned beet red.

"How rude of you! I am not a baby!"

Suddenly, Khalissi's face turned red.

"Its voice is so cute! Can we keep it? It looks like a mini version of me."

I could see how she came to that conclusion, seeing as both of them had wings, but that was all the similarity they had in common.

"This creature is called a fairy," I explained to my ignorant demon.

"A fairy," she repeated with a strange smile on her face.

"Yes, and for now I will ignore your rude comment since you seem to be ignorant," the fairy said with her hands on her hips and her head held high like a regal lord granting her subjects some mercy.

This only made Khalissi's interest in her grow stronger as the weird twinkle in her eyes seemed to have gotten brighter.

"Ahem, anyway, as for what I was saying. Welcome to Fabulous Fixies, the best clothes shop in Purgatory. If you're looking for high-quality clothes and accessories made from mana itself."

"Mana? No wonder I was drawn to this place. Who would've thought you lower lifeforms would've figured out how to weave mana into clothing. You've seriously outdone yourselves."

The fairy's face turned beet red once again as she clenched her tiny fist and glared at Khalissi.

"Just because we're small doesn't make us lower lifeforms!"

Her voice became high pitch, as if someone was squeaking at us.

"Forgive her ignorance. My wife doesn't know the true talents of fairies when it comes to making magical trinkets. Please enlighten her for me." I said as I slipped my hand around Khalissi's waist, pulling her in, then pinching her on the side.

Khalissi's face turned red, and she let out a sharp yelp.

My pinching her was meant as a punishment, but you couldn't have guessed by the wild look on her face.

Khalissi was like a spoiled demonic princess who didn't know that her cruel words were affecting others.

The fairy smiled smugly at my words and crossed her arms.

"You should teach your wife some manners. But I will once again forgive her rudeness. Don't let it happen again," she warned.

She then circled around Khalissi, inspecting her with her hand on her chin. She inspected her clothes.

"Your clothes are also the product of mana. It looks high quality too," the fairy complimented.

Khalissi smiled smugly at her words.

"Of course they are. They were handcrafted, magic woven into the very fabric."

"Interesting… It's almost as good as ours."

Khalissi's smile twitched.

"Almost?"

Just then, the fairy flickered off, leaving golden particles dancing in the air as she left.

"Even demons need to learn to hold their tongue," I said.

Her face softened a bit.

"You called me your wife earlier. Why?"

"You're already strange as is. I don't want us to stand out with everything going on in the city."

"Good point."

Not long after, the fairy returned. She was accompanied by other tiny creatures with flushed faces. They all worked together to carry fabrics of different colors towards us. They raised the fabrics against Khalissi's skin and chatted among themselves without saying a word to us.

They all then nodded in agreement before attempting to drag Khalissi towards the changing room. I gave Khalissi a nod of approval, and she allowed herself to be carried off. While she was gone, I used the chance to have a look around.

Khalissi would undoubtedly flaunt her new clothes in front of the girls, so it would be best if I got them something too. I wasn't the best at picking out gifts and I was expecting a few complaints when I hand these out.

For Sylvie, I picked up a soft blanket since she normally sleeps without one. I got some stylish, sea-themed hair ornaments for Selthia. The ones she had before were destroyed. I could tell she was feeling sad about it.

I got a matching teacup set for Kumo. I've learned to take it slow with her so she doesn't have one of her episodes. Now we can drink from the same cup without her freaking out.

For Kaguya, I picked out a maid outfit since that's all she seemed to want to wear. I picked up a set of black underwear for Yuki. It might sound like a strange gift, but she requires them constantly when she goes on her killing spree.

Since we're going to Grey Waste, it means Ivy will be there, so I got her some black stockings to match with the short skirts she usually wears.

I think that's everyone.

Just as I was about to pay for my gifts, Khalissi stepped out of the changing room.

"Dearest husband, what do you think?"
