Hidden Moth

Chapter 172: The Precepts Are a Cultivator’s Protective Blade

Interestingly, many of the parties involved in these two cases have gathered at the Qihuang Spirit Garden today.

This might be the so-called attraction effect of karma, as both today's apprenticeship ceremony and the final resolution of the two cases are related to He Kao.

Zeng Hongye and Fu Xiaoci's framing of Wu Yanjun was inadvertently uncovered by He Kao; whereas Ren Zhongqing's assassination attempt on Golden Heron Wave was deliberately pointed to He Kao by a high-ranking individual.

However, He Kao's name is not mentioned in the public notices from the Ancestral Hall, making He Kao feel like a puppet master behind the scenes.

Besides omitting He Kao, Zeng Hongye's case also does not mention the Supreme Elder of the Alchemy Sect, Qi Nansheng, nor the former steward Yu Pingzhou, who was the true mastermind behind Zeng Hongye.

If you look at it from another perspective, such handling is necessary, not necessarily to shield or protect anyone, similar to the reason for not publicizing He Kao's "achievements".

He Kao already knows the Ancestral Hall's investigation results, and indeed it has nothing to do with Qi Nansheng. Qi Nansheng only instructed Yu Pingzhou to find the genuine "Tan Xian's Walking Stick Painting," which is in itself harmless.

As for the methods used by Yu Pingzhou, they were not instructed by Qi Nansheng, and given his position, he would not lie about such matters, and the Ancestral Hall would not conduct an unclear investigation... Yu Pingzhou has already been executed.

Once these details are made public, there would need to be an explanation as to why Yu Pingzhou acted as he did, leading to the old story and the debate over the authenticity of "Tan Xian's Walking Stick Painting."

Will there then be yet another group of Magic Sect Disciples secretly seeking "Tan Xian's Walking Stick Painting"?

No one is a fool; whatever Yu Pingzhou risked his life to acquire, it is certainly not an ordinary ancient painting.

Things might play out the same way as last year in Qi Yuan, only with different targets, places, and people, leading to a group of individuals focusing on Wu Yanjun to find the Divine Artifact Treasure Map.

As for whether Wu Yanjun has clues about the Divine Artifact Treasure Map, the Ancestral Hall has already investigated, with Elder Kang Rulin personally questioning Wu Yanjun for an entire night.

As for what the Ancestral Hall secretly investigated beyond that, outsiders do not know.

The situation publicly disclosed by the Ancestral Hall is as follows: Micro Realm Sect disciple Wu Yanjun, Ye Yuxuan, and Xingshen Sect disciple Fu Xiaoci had a conflict while traveling.

Fu Xiaoci, out of spite, contacted her senior brother Zeng Hongye to set a trap for Wu Yanjun, accusing him of violating the Joint Punishment Order and deliberately having Ye Yuxuan report it.

They lured businessman Ye Hui to Acheng for negotiation as leverage to extort a large amount of benefit. As for Wu Yanjun, Zeng Hongye secretly dealt with him, planning to falsely announce that he had fled in fear of punishment and was missing.

This plan was accidentally exposed by Lingxi Sect sorcerer Xiao Guangnian, who promptly reported it to the Ancestral Hall.

Ancestral Hall Elder Li Xiuyuan rushed to the northeast, rescuing Wu Yanjun, who had been on the run for days in the snow, brought him back to Acheng for verification, and uncovered the truth.

Zeng Hongye fled abroad upon hearing the news to avoid disaster but was killed by Ancestral Hall Elder Gu Chun within Maoluo Country's borders, and Fu Xiaoci was also executed.

The specific situation is as described; logically, it barely strings together coherently, and all disclosed information is factual.

As for Ren Zhongqing's case, the situation is much simpler, but the information disclosed by the Ancestral Hall still does not mention He Kao, nor why Ren Zhongqing went to Qi Yuan to find He Kao, and Qian Guran became the face of it.

Qian Guran feels he knows a little too many secrets. Although he has become a high-tier sorcerer, he fears that his slight figure may not withstand it...

The guests at the Qihuang Spirit Garden have various identities; some already know the inside story, some are in charge of the investigation, and others are only seeing the notice today.

The Ancestral Hall also has a dedicated app for releasing information, ostensibly discussing various health preservation issues, but the hidden codes and phrases accessible to Magic Sect disciples reveal much more... it's far more convenient than ancient methods of communication.

The Ancestral Hall simultaneously released another document resembling a legal interpretation in the secular world, or a Q&A on issues related to the Joint Punishment Order, clarifying a series of questions.

Firstly, the Ancestral Hall sternly states that any decision on violations of the Joint Punishment Order must be made by the Ancestral Hall, and then the Ancestral Hall will issue an arrest warrant on behalf of the Magic Sect.

Ren Zhongqing's case, including all its processes, is a clear example.

Then, Zeng Hongye and Fu Xiaoci's case serves as an existing counterexample.

Whether Zhang San violated the Joint Punishment Order cannot be determined by Li Si. If Fu Xiaoci claims Wu Yanjun violated the Joint Punishment Order, the relevant information should be reported to the Ancestral Hall for determination.

Fu Xiaoci's extortion attempt by leveraging this with Ye Hui shows ill intent, resulting in Ye Hui receiving a reprimand from the Ancestral Hall.

This leads to the second question: why must Fu Xiaoci be executed?

Because the Ancestral Hall has discovered that she plotted to frame Wu Yanjun, falsely accusing him of violating the Joint Punishment Order, which is an unforgivable act, deserving of death!

This serves as a warning, advising all sorcerers not to be too clever or cunning, and not to intentionally use the Joint Punishment Order to manipulate others or use the Ancestral Hall as a tool.

The most important third question, the Ancestral Hall clarifies the prerequisites and scope for violating the Joint Punishment Order. Firstly, a conflict occurs between two cultivators, and then one threatens the other's innocent family members.
