Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 6: Mr. Jiang

After Sun walked away.

Chen Wen looked at the special animals surrounding him.

The Golden Eagle, Snowy Owl, and Canadian Lynx were obviously sticking together, sitting on the side, looking eagerly at Chen Wen.

The Bobcat was more familiar with the Snowy Owl and the Eurasian Eagle-Owl, and sat with them.

Looking at this group of animals, Chen Wen said, "Firstly, I'm very happy to see you all again, still on our country's land."

After speaking, Chen Wen scratched his head.

It seemed a bit too formal.

He waved his hand and said, "In any case, I'm happy to see you all happy."

As soon as he said this, various animal calls emerged from around him.

Chen Wen grimaced as he listened.

After all, to describe the sound of the two lynxes, Chen Wen thought that "guttural and harsh" was a fitting description.

After the animals finished speaking, Chen Wen said, "I now have a new ability that allows you to communicate with each other. Try it out. Let's be clear, from now on we're one family, so try not to fight."

As Chen Wen spoke, he spent twenty Inheritance Points to grant communication abilities to the Bobcat and the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

As for the Eurasian Eagle-Owl, it wasn't a special animal.

[Communication] was ineffective for it.

Chen Wen's Inheritance Points now stood at 380 points.

After a moment, the communication ability was fully bestowed.

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl blinked, seemingly unaware of what had changed.

But as soon as the Bobcat spoke, the Eurasian Eagle-Owl looked at the Bobcat in surprise.

"Big cat, we can talk now!"

The Bobcat gave the Eurasian Eagle-Owl a displeased look. Who are you calling a big cat?

But it still said, "Yes."

While speaking, the Bobcat looked over at the Canadian Lynx beside it.

The Canadian Lynx shivered but still puffed out its chest, staring at the Bobcat.

But the Bobcat didn't declare war, instead it said, "When we fought before, I noticed your hunting skills were terrible. I can teach you some hunting techniques later."

Upon hearing this, the Canadian Lynx immediately relaxed its puffed-out chest and said with a sly grin, "Great, I'd love to learn from you!"

The Snowy Owl looked at the fluffy Eurasian Eagle-Owl and reluctantly said, "Chen Wen said he'd help you lose weight. I can help too, although I don't actually know what losing weight is."

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl nodded, "Sure, losing weight must be something fun. Humans always come up with fun things."

"Alright, chat as you wish, and think of a name for yourselves. I've decided, it's better to leave the naming rights to you."

Chen Wen said as he planned to take the Eurasian Eagle-Owl for a walk nearby and develop their relationship.

...

Outside the glass house, deep in the zoo.

Sun walked briskly to another glass house.

This glass house housed a very old Northeast Tiger.

Its skin sagged, its fur color was lackluster, and its body was skinny and bony.

The entire tiger showed a lackluster, lethargic state.

It was evidently in its twilight years, at life's final moment.

Looking at the Northeast Tiger, Sun was somewhat emotional, "Big Orange is old now, already eighteen years old. In human years, it would be a hundred-year-old elder."

Beside the Northeast Tiger sat a woman with legs crossed around it.

Her features were delicate, and she didn't appear very old. Her plain-colored down jacket added a touch of gentle demeanor.

The woman gently petted the Northeast Tiger, but her face was full of worry.

"This winter, Big Orange might not make it through."

Speaking, she gestured for Sun to look at the meat chunks beside them, "It hasn't eaten for two consecutive days now."

Upon hearing this, Sun was momentarily stunned.

He picked up a piece of meat and placed it beside the Northeast Tiger's large head.

But the Northeast Tiger just sniffed it, then turned its head and laid its large head on the woman's lap.

"Eighteen years, it's lived long enough."

Sun comforted the director, "Director, don't be too hard on yourself or worry too much. In the wild, most Northeast Tigers don't live past fifteen years."

The director nodded slightly, not saying more.

After basking in the sun with the Northeast Tiger for a while,

The director suddenly realized, "Weren't you supposed to pick up Mr. Liu? Why are you back so early?"

"Oh, I brought him back. By the way, Director, I wanted to tell you that the amazing person who tamed a bunch of animals also came."

Sun said with a smile, "It's Chen Wen. Before I saw him, I thought he'd be a muscular guy, but I realized I was wrong when I saw him in person."

The director was taken aback, asking, "That Chen Wen is here too?"

"Yes, he's in Glass House No. 1 with his animals now."

Sun replied.

After a moment of hesitation, the director gently nudged the Northeast Tiger's head.

The Northeast Tiger seemed to sense something and arduously lifted its head.

"Let's go, meet the guest. We mustn't neglect the guest."

As she spoke, the director used her hands to support herself, struggling to stand.

She seemed to be heavily burdened by the Northeast Tiger's head.

Sun, quick on his feet, assisted the director, helping her sit back in her transportation tool—a wheelchair.

The director slightly adjusted her clothes and said, "I'm also curious about where he found so many unique creatures and how he tamed them."

Sun nodded and wheeled the director towards the glass house.

...

"Little Eagle, fly!"

In the glass house, Chen Wen was helping the Eurasian Eagle-Owl recall the training from before.

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl, no doubt an excellent breed of falcon, even after so long, could accurately replicate its actions as soon as Chen Wen gave the command.

Chen Wen threw the glove into the air with a shout of "Hunt!"

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl's eyes flashed with intensity, and in an instant, it grabbed the glove with its two legs, holding it firmly.

"Beautiful!"

Chen Wen said, feeding a prepared piece of raw meat to the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

The raw meat was something he found in the glass house, food for the animals.

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl excitedly swallowed the meat strip, flapping its wings to express its joy.

"Hmph, what's so impressive? I can do that too!"

The Golden Eagle looked at the Eurasian Eagle-Owl with some dissatisfaction.

The Snowy Owl, uninterested, said, "You can do it thanks to communication with humans, but that bird is different. Didn't you notice? It can't talk."

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl on the side nodded repeatedly, "Yes, the big bird is always silent, can't talk, it's so boring!"

Can't talk?

The Golden Eagle grumbled, "Well, it does have some skills."

Just then, Chen Wen suddenly heard an unsettling noise.

It seemed someone was pushing a cart towards them.

He extended his hand to let the Eurasian Eagle-Owl land on his gloved hand, looking outside the glass house.

Moments later, he saw Sun and a woman in a wheelchair.

"Wow, the caretaker is here! What goodies are being brought today?"

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl was quite familiar with the woman.

It flapped its wings enthusiastically, lifting itself into the air.

As soon as the woman entered, it swooped down onto her.

Chen Wen watched, cringing.

This woman seemed to be the so-called director, but she looked quite young.

Chen Wen pondered silently, observing the reactions of the other animals.

The Eurasian Eagle-Owl was also a bit excited but stayed by Chen Wen's side.

The Bobcat and Lynx glanced at the female director and then stopped minding the situation there.

The Golden Eagle and Snowy Owl were engrossed in their debate, not paying attention to the female director.

However, this also indirectly indicated that the female director had initially gained the animals' trust.

Achieving this without speaking the same language was truly not easy.

"Hello, Chen Wen."

The female director spoke first, "My name is Jiang Xue, I'm the director of this zoo."

Jiang Xue, a quite nice name.

Chen Wen nodded slightly, "Chen Wen, nice to meet you, Director Jiang. Thank you for taking such good care of my animals, I'm extremely grateful."

While speaking, Chen Wen intentionally looked at the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

This guy seemed to genuinely enjoy being by Director Jiang's side.

She must have genuine affection for animals, otherwise, this one wouldn't behave like that.

Jiang Xue nodded slightly, "It's only my duty; you came highly recommended by Mr. Liu, and taking care of your animals is a small effort."
