The Game of Global Mining

Chapter 184: The Construction Crew Is Ready Too

Alright, I had anticipated this; what's happening now is just confirmation.

Anyway, there's been enough snatching of opportunities, it's just a matter of managing my own affairs well now.

Chun said, getting to the point, "Lord, the Earth Lotus has successfully built a fish nest in the Magma Lake outside. It has already attracted the Purple Crystal Fish to settle there. I think we should expand and cultivate more fish, and we'll need the tribe's assistance."

The Lord was quite pleased, "Great, I support it! I'll send 10 little ones to assist you!"

Chun was stunned, "Little ones?"

The Lord stomped his foot, producing a rumbling sound wave, explaining, "They should be the children of the tribe. Their age is the best time for learning, and since you know Construction Techniques, it's a perfect opportunity for them to learn something new. After all, you can't build the Divine Temple alone."

Indeed, it's about training a construction team! Such support is truly an advantage from the boss...

Chun gratefully accepted with a smile, "The Lord is truly wise and foresighted!"

The Lord laughed, "I believe the members of the Earth Flame Race who can build the Divine Temple will certainly be smarter than our generation. Once they grow, they can even become your Personal Guard."

Thinking ahead to the Personal Guard too! Too wise!

Just then, outside the cave, a group of Earth Flame Little Giants as tall as two-story buildings rushed in, making distinctly crisp sounds, "Hello, Lord!"

The Lord laughed, "From now on, he's your leader! When he's resting, Earth Lotus will be your elder sister."

"Hello, leader! Hello, sister!"

Holy Shit, so these are the children of the Earth Flame Giants! I thought the child-sized adults of Ox Head City were fierce enough, but these Earth Flame children are even more outrageous! Though not as massive as giants four or five stories tall, they're still humanoid excavators!

Chun was overjoyed, "You all have limitless potential. Let's go, learn to build fish nests!"

"Okay, leader!"

This lively, agile yet steady feeling... It would be a waste to only teach them how to build fish nests!

Chun immediately asked Earth Lotus, "Can they learn Rune Techniques?"

Earth Lotus said, "If I can learn, they certainly can too, but it might be limited to the Earth Series."

"Earth Series is enough! We'll teach them when we're free!"

"Alright, Father."

Ah, what do you mean we teach, it'll still be all on you, haha~~

Chun and his group returned again to the Crystal Stone Pillar mining area by the lake. Earth Lotus first explained the process.

But immediately, one of the little ones had a suggestion, "Leader, Sister! This Crystal Stone Pillar is a gray-white one, and it produces the most Crystal Stone Flowers. It's best to use this for the fish nests to give the fish plenty to eat."

Holy Shit, showing creativity right from the start!

Chun agreed, "What do you say, Earth Lotus?"

Earth Lotus also agreed, "Alright, we'll specifically use these gray-white pillars!"

Haha, Fish Nest version 2.0!

The following time was when Chun witnessed the power and skill of these humanoid excavators. Indeed... the feeling they gave was completely different from those slow-moving adult giants from before!

Great! This also counts as finishing the task assigned by the President Sister for large-scale development of the Earth Flame Tribe. Even if the minerals don't sell for a good price, wouldn't this fish farming sell well?

Just wondering what the boss has developed at the Black Dragon Fortress. In this ten-day task race, I have to outperform the whole group...

...

Black Dragon Fortress.

Uriel and several hundred team members, led by the Fallen Angel Pava Landing, arrived first.

These team members were not members of the guild, they just came to familiarize themselves with the map task and the NPCs.

Of course, with Uriel as the Vice President's authority, he could easily add more people, given there were dozens of slots. However, Uriel was very cautious and didn't add anyone, feeling their level wouldn't contribute much and might instead mess things up, damaging the guild's reputation.

The Black Dragon Fortress guards the entrance and exit of the sixth level. The main task here is to use the Black Flame Barrier to block various bugs from the sixth level entering the seventh level. Most tasks here involve killing bugs all around. The NPCs here have transformed into human forms with Dragon Horns on their heads, as Black Dragons.

Uriel knew exactly what these bugs were, all sorts of messy programs in the mountain of files.

The more globally renowned an advanced big company, the more its program code resembles this mountain of files—a mountain of tens of thousands of lines of code with questionable usefulness yet piled higher than the Himalayas, constantly slowing down system performance! And yet it cannot be optimized, as tampering with it would cause a mountain collapse and cause a crash beyond salvation even by the Divine.

This is due to reasons such as continuously updated systems, patches, and patches of patches to catch up with project timelines and to cut operation costs, as well as the messy laziness of generations of programmers, especially due to mass employment of Curry programmers.

No one now knows how the mountain of files actually operates, perhaps it's just reliance on bugs, but as long as it runs, it's best not to touch it.

Uriel despised the mountain of files, actually wanting to persuade partners to spend more to start a brand new company and develop a brand new system... but that's impossible! The tools for development are still heirlooms atop the mountain of files. The time cost is akin to humans re-walking through the Fourth Industrial Revolution...

Then there's the jerk saying that the operation of the mountain is a mystery, possibly birthing artificial intelligence, which Michael believed and had to believe too...

In short, while the mountain hasn't birthed artificial intelligence, it has indeed produced a lot of junk.

Let's just kill first! Even though they can't all be exterminated.

The Fallen Angel Pava Landing was even more ferociously battle-driven, soon completing all the extermination tasks in the fortress. Once the common tasks were finished, the higher-level tasks would appear.

As expected, Uriel and Pava Landing's achievements and prestige earned them an audience with the beautiful Black Dragon Lord Artistutaia, and they received high-level tasks to kill stronger bugs, which Uriel did until he was truly fed up.

While returning to the city to rest, Earthbound Fire Dragon, Grandmaster Bast, Duodolin, and the five equity-partner female Mercenaries arrived.

The partners found that Uriel had already accumulated enough guild prestige and praised him endlessly.

Uriel modestly accepted it, and was surprised to find that the other three Fallen Angels hadn't come. He learned that the leader's order was for them to only manage their workshops and shoeshining business.

Uriel was annoyed; what was worth managing in these debt-laden, low-end industries?

But he quickly figured out that this was the leader's intelligence shortcoming, given that he came as a spy from the Earth Flame Tribe, a race not historically known for clever designs. This was actually a good thing, beneficial to him seizing power.

And with the team's arrival, the tasks in the fortress refreshed again, bringing various mining, transportation, and bounty tasks.

Uriel then realized that the tasks here were tailored to who was around. Both he and Pava Landing were fighters, so there were mainly extermination tasks.

Though these little tasks still couldn't satisfy Uriel's appetite, he seized this opportunity to curry favor with the five female partners, "Beautiful partner ladies, as Vice President, I will do my utmost to serve the partners and the guild!"

Dark Elf Olka spoke, "I think the abilities you and Mr. Pava Landing have shown have exceeded ordinary tasks; I have here a rather difficult one..."
