Beating Instances through Words Left by the Dead

Chapter 169: Shipwreck Belt and Hidden Side Quest_3

Taking advantage of the moment the group was distracted, the Werewolf accelerated, running along the ceiling and out of sight from Wu Chang and the others, disappearing from the cabin within a few blinks.

Originally, it was seven against two, but after the Werewolf escaped, it turned into seven against one.

To be precise, with the old man included, it was eight against one.

The Secret Ceremony Master glanced at Wu Chang and sighed; if it weren't for this local disrupting his Mystical Ceremony, he would have succeeded today.

He waved the Conductor's Baton in his hand, a small Magic Array appeared under his feet, and in the next moment, he vanished from the cargo hold.

Wu Chang recognized the Magic Array used by the Secret Ceremony Master; it was a short-distance space transfer array that allowed him to slip away.

Wu Chang glanced around to ensure there were no other players present, then turned his gaze towards the old man being contended over by the two.

This local from the dungeon is unwanted, right? If no one wants him, I'll take him.

He approached the old man and said, "Come with me first, and we'll talk once we return."

The old man inspected Wu Chang a few times, thought for a moment, and said, "I can see you have some ability, so I'll come with you for now."

Wu Chang: "..."

Why are you being so selective?

Wu Chang and his team left with the old man, giving Cyan Dragon and the others a look; they spread out their positions, and with a pair of double doors blocked, the frail old man was immediately surrounded tightly.

Wu Chang seized the opportunity to ask, "Are you a passenger on the Star Jump or Sea Song?"

The old man didn't waste words, directly pulling out a Star Jump ticket, with his name, Cui Chengze, written on it.

"I am an Exorcist, specializing in investigating various paranormal vanishing events. Perhaps touching upon the truth of the Shipwreck Belt, the masterminds sent those two to capture me."

Wu Chang pursued further, "What is the Shipwreck Belt?"

Cui Chengze assessed Wu Chang's expensive suit and responded sardonically:

"Someone like you, a wealthy young master, surely wouldn't care about the lives of ordinary people, so it's normal not to know."

"In this sea area, every one to two years, ships disappear inexplicably, just like the Sea Song, vanishing without a trace. These ships don't truly sink but instead float in a sea area unreachable by ordinary people."

"Those mysteriously vanished ships wander aimlessly in that sea area, awaiting discovery. Survivors lucky enough to leave that area call it the Shipwreck Belt."

Wu Chang raised a brow and looked at Cui Chengze, saying, "So you are one of those survivors?"

Cui Chengze looked at Wu Chang in surprise and said, "As expected of a genius able to break through array barriers, your intuition is frighteningly sharp. Let me take a good look at you."

Cui Chengze examined Wu Chang thoroughly several times, then clapped his hands regretfully, saying, "Such a raw gem, if I had met you earlier and taught you myself, you'd surely become the strongest Mysticism Master in history!"

Wu Chang smirked, as Cui Chengze spoke, he envisioned that beggar who tricked kids into buying secret art illustration books.

"Let's not talk about irrelevant things; compared to studying Mysticism, I am more interested in the Shipwreck Belt."

Cui Chengze's expression changed, shaking his head, he said, "No way, the secrets of the Shipwreck Belt are too significant, unless you agree to help me, otherwise I absolutely won't tell you."

Wu Chang laughed, not accepting the offered drink, are you?

He was about to use some verbal threats, when "Perfectionism" reacted.

The hidden side quest reacted.
